TOPIC | Exalting Criteria Option
This feature is already implemented. Pedigree breeders have several options to determine the minimum age, Coli level, and number of offspring a dragon has before it is exalted, in addition to requirements on Lore and what it can be named. These features are not on the dragon’s page however, so they’re easy to miss. The Lore and name requirements aren’t exactly a FR feature as much as a player-made life hack, but some people who sell on the forums require buyers to write a certain amount of lore before selling the dragon, as well as coming up with a name that’s up to the breeder’s personal standards. In terms of making sure the dragon’s age, Coli level and offspring are reached before the dragon can be exalted, it’s a little more difficult. The options to do so can be found in the lair, the coliseum, and the nesting grounds respectively. The dragon’s minimum age can be set by waiting, the Coli level by grinding, and offspring number through breeding. Additionally, pedigree breeders may require that their buyers put in a certain amount of effort to earn the ability to exalt a dragon. This effort can be Coli grinding, breeding and selling dragons of their own, taking care of their dragons, or even real life activities such as office work or flipping burgers. This effort is tracked on-site by treasure and gems, and breeders can set the Effort needed to earn Dragon Exaltation Rights on either the AH or their personal sales threads.
In addition, the dragon's first owner/breeder/seller can do any combination of the above themselves. The person who bred the dragon can level it up before selling. The person who bred the dragon can name the dragon and/or write lore for it before it leaves the lair. The person who bred the dragon can wait until the dragon is # months old before selling. That'll guarantee whatever Criteria are met. Because, after all, once the dragon leaves the lair, the original lair owner no longer has any say in that dragon's destiny.

If writers are supposed to "show not tell," why are we called "storytellers" and not "storyshow-ers"?
All lore implications aside, exalting is critical to maintain server space. Exalted dragons take less space = more room for new players. All other petsites have some form of this mechanic. Sometimes it's aging and dying, sometimes you have to keep everyone happy or they wander off. In Flight Rising, that's exalting. Restricting that won't make these dragons more valuable. It'll make them be worth pennies as people race to get the 'restrictions' done as quickly as possible to get them out of their lair. You think hatcheries have a hard time selling now? This will make it worse. Absolutely no support.
Criteria would give the actual breeders a chance to say, "No, I don't want that fate for my dragons,"
It seems you are not reading the replies very well. When a dragon leaves your lair, it is no longer your dragon.

Imagination is the reality of our dreamscape.
A lot of folks here have made some really good points, but I want to lodge my own two cents: beyond just being a violation of the dragon ownership rules, this suggestion prioritizes one site playstyle at the expense of others. Both mechanics and morally. The word choice in the suggestion post and further comments by OP only further cement that. ("Kibble"?)

I'm an exalting lair. I like making lots of money and then using that money to deck out my dragons. I'm also a huge lover of dominance -- it's a big part of what had me move to Light Flight in the first place! While I'm less active than I have been in the past due to working on my degree, I still breed primarily with the goal of exalting the babies myself. I tend to put them up above fodder floor prices (average 20k) just to give people a chance to snatch them up if they're wanted. I also will buy large numbers of fodder dragons, particularly if I'm prepping for a push. My main objection to people buying my dragons to exalt is that my flight didn't get the dom points! I enjoy it when people like my hatchlings enough to buy them-- just the idea that something I bred made someone happy makes my day.

That's a great way to play the game, and I'm in good company.

Other people spend a ton of time decking out their dragons in lore, crafting hatcheries...

That's also a great way to play the game. The sheer creativity people put into this game is why it's so enjoyable and keeps me coming back even after I've drifted away.

The reason why this game has such a wonderful and vibrant community is because different people put different things into it. Some folks really get into breeding the perfect dragons. I really get into the interflight competition and community engagement that comes with dominance.

And most importantly, no playstyle is morally superior to any other. That's the real thing that irks me about OP's attitude-- comparing exalting a dragon to destroying a piece of artwork definitely reeks of feeling that their way of playing the game is superior to all others. It's a bit eyebrow-raising to see them complaining of disrespect when they spent multiple posts using very loaded language to discuss a core site feature and the people who utilize it. It's not a healthy attitude to keep in a game like this.

Thank you everyone for your diligence in remaining constructive on this topic.

While we prefer to refrain from giving hard yes or no responses to most suggestions and ideas, this topic is an exception.
 1. Once a dragon leaves your lair, it no longer belongs to you.
 2. Dragon population growth in our game is exponential.
 3. Exalting is a necessary mechanic as a result of the above.
 4. Dominance is a game feature designed with the intent to encourage exalting dragons.
 5. Exalt bonuses are designed with the intent to encourage exalting dragons.

Implementing a feature or tool that would allow a selling player to force the receiving player to play our game the way the seller wants them to is antithetical to our Dragon Ownership Policy.

If you want your offspring lists named before they are exalted, we recommend naming the dragons before selling or trading them. 'Unnamed' is a banned name as it was used to target and harass players trying follow this recommendation.

If you are concerned that a dragon will be given a harassing or rule-violating name after you sell or trade the dragon, we recommend naming the dragon before selling or trading them. I should also mention this also forces anyone looking to engage in harassment or otherwise use names that violate our rules to use a Scroll of Renaming. This is a choice and action which communicates intent to break our rules when reviewed by Support.

If you are concerned that any given dragon you sell or trade to other players will be exalted, resold, bred, breed changed, gene changed, scattered, etc, we can only recommend not selling or trading those dragons to other players. Once the dragon leaves your lair, it no longer belongs to you.

Now, none of what's been explained above means a player is required to sell or trade a dragon to every interested party who approaches them. This also doesn't mean it's okay to exploit this policy in "free adoption" styled threads/giveaways for personal gain, reselling, exalting, etc, so don't do that. That behavior in particular is harassment.
