I have a longing for very simple genes. For example, A tert than simply recolours the mane of a dragon.
But some dragons don't have manes! I hear you say.
Fear not! I have made Concepts for the "Mane" tert on every modern breed!
Bogsneak F, Stone/Fern Basic, and Cerulean Mane.
Pearlcatcher F, Lapis/Goldenrod basic, Cobalt Mane (This one really displays just what Mane can do!)
Coatl M, Eggplant,Mulberry Basic, Pink Mane.
Fae M, Shadow/Dust Basic, Honey Mane
Guardian F, Yellow/Pearl Basic, Heather Mane
Imperial M, Sky/Fire Basic, Amethyst Mane
Mirror F, Tan/Avocado Basic, Sable Mane (Fins are recoloured)
Nocturne F, Coral/Garnet Basic, Spearmint Mane
Ridgeback M, Camo/Taupe Basic, Tangerine Mane
Snapper F, Teal/Bronze Basic, Mist Mane
Spiral F, Banana/Soil Basic, Ultramarine Mane (This one was the hardest to do out of all of the dragons since it's the only dragon with no definable body decoration.)
Tundra M, Purple/Ice Basic, Leaf mane. Aka the poster child of the Mane gene. I have a scry that would be fixed if the Mane gene was a thing. Plus the whole Debate when the Butterfly gene was "fixed" on Skys and Tuns, it made me think that what if we simply had a choice on what colour we wanted the manes ourselves?
Skydancer M, Forest/White Basic, Fire Mane. The other species that had their manes changed and changed back.
Wildclaw F, Mantis/Blue Basic, Lemon Mane. For some reason the PSD for F wildclaws already has the feathers a different colour. They're blue instead of grey.
Of course, the Scries that can be made will be
much nicer than whatever Basic/Contour random colour dragons the scrying workshop spat out at me. You can mix and match your manes, spines and fins to match accent colours on the more complex genes, or just to have a unique colour to save a bad tert.
