No support for making a completely custom dragon, because it renders the entire site premise invalid.
Support for a do-over for your custom progen’s tert - maybe a single clanbound tert change scroll?

Yeah sorry, I don't support either. You can breed for a specific combination or try your hand at hatching gen 1s (although hoarding gen 1s is entirely a choice and if you care that much about getting a specific colour combo you might as well just ditch the idea of getting a gen 1) and it's not really THAT hard to do a breeding project seeing how many dragons there are on the site. Personally all of the fun would disappear if I didn't have to work for what I want, it keeps me motivated and I actually see the point in maxing out fairgrounds, exalting dragons etc. If we could get custom dragons half of that grind is gone, unless this option was extremely expensive but in that case.. why bother?
There are pet sites out there that give you a high degree of customisation in terms of colour palette and so on but FR isn't like that and I actually enjoy that about it.. it also feels extremely satisfying to obtain a nice/rare dragon entirely through luck as this removes elements of elitism. Imagine if we could get custom dragons for say, 100kg, this would pretty much remove the market for triple gen 1s if anyone could get any triple combo they wanted, and it'd be mainly the people who could even afford triple gen 1s in the first place being able to do this.. I just can't see anything good coming out of it

No support, this event already exists: account creation.
I do support making progens completely customisable with the full range of the colour wheel, as progens are already clan bound. Also, since progens have special status, you can't really breed the ideal one.

Maybe if it's a 1-time thing for a special event AND the dragon is completely and totally account-locked, I don't really see the harm in it.

Only if it was restricted to common breeds like progens, didn't get genes (at least not gem genes) and was account locked. Might be an interesting if controversial event for, say the 10 year site anniversary.
OR a permanently integrated one time event players can only access on their 5 year account anniversary.

Sorry, but this is not really a good idea? my opinion is pretty much everyone else's here. Great in theory, but it just seems too easy to me. Nope, you have custom progens for a reason.

Hey OP let me introduce you to something called... BREEDING.
It’s a very cool thing you should try it.

No support for the current suggestion, for reasons stated in the thread already.
However, I would absolutely be interested in this if it was limited to a one-time rechosing the colours for your custom progen only (including tert). Maybe it could be available to players after being on the site for a certain many of years to reduce multi-account abuse. Original colourwheel is fine, or expanded colourwheel if that becomes an option for new members too! Free or for a cost, either would be fine tbh.
I say this because if our custom progen is supposed to be the one dragon we get that's designed by us, it kinda sucks when it ends up being something you dislike for one reason or another. In my case, the colourwheel update ended up making certain colours more saturated, including Rose which was a colour I chose specifically because it was pastel. In addition, certain colours look promising as basic, but end up disappointing when genes are applied. And while the tert I got wasn't awful, it doesn't really work with the idea I had in mind for my dragon. Being able to recustomize the colours for the custom progen would be much appreciated. No support for being able to select genes. You can buy them yourself so you still have total control over it, it just might take some time/effort to get them.

yyyyyeah... gonna have to say no support. this would crash the market and make g1s essentially worth nothing unless those dragons worked like progens and were clanbound. even then, it seems like a really unfair mechanic when we weren't allowed to fully customize progens to begin with.
i'd rather see an update to account creation where you can fully customize your custom progen, complete with picking the tertiary and having the expanded color wheel, along with a free, one-off re-customizing of your custom progen for already existing accounts. after all, it's just your progen. you can't truly get rid of them, they can't be sold, and they can't be traded.

No support for making custom dragons. However, support for being able to remake custom progen (and picking the tert, too), with no limits except for the costs of the "remaking scroll".

I play Wajas and Felisfire where the most important creatures are customs, and I will say it’s very creatively expressive and exciting feature of those games. Yes, those games are breeding games, but their gene, color, and breeding systems are far more complex than FR’s.
That’s precisely why it wouldn’t work here. On sites with customs, they usually have the ability to have more than 3 genes, and they don’t have predetermined colors, and when you breed creatures you can end up with infinite possibilities of faded markings, mixed colors, and 10+ genes.
FR does not have that. The dragons that can be created are much less diverse, and nearly every combo has already been made. That means “customs” will never truly be custom on here- it also means you do have the ability to get any dragon you want, through breeding, buying, and hatching. Having customs would defeat the purpose of FR too much. FR is more of a collecting game, not a creation game.
So, in short, no support. I understand the desire and if this was a different game I would support, but the way FR is built really doesn’t work with that kind of thing. When I was a newbie I was actually baffled that FR didn’t have this option, but now that I’ve been here for years I understand why this wouldn’t work.
I also don’t support the making of a single clanbound custom. Tons of people would use it to make super rare dragons and then the value of those would go down. Gen ones, eggs, and primals would cost even less, because now no one is gonna hatch 3000 eggs or spend their entire existence away for a rare Gen 1 when they can just make their dream XXX Obsidian Primal Gen 1 with their clanbound custom.
Edit: On the topic of the ability to choose the tert on the progen when new users join and giving older players a chance to choose... I’m not 100% on that for the same reasons above but I’m not totally against it- again, it would result in many newbies choosing XXX colors, and the users out there who did doubles in hopes of their tert being triple would just capitalize on that. Not to mention, there would be a massive uprise in progen doubles since existing users could change the tert to the prim or secondary color. But at the same time I do wish we could have all chosen the tert on our custom progen, so, I’m 50/50 on that.
