You know, that's not a bad modification! It'd really encourage people to get creative with XYZ colors, too, and make obscure color combos easier to reach, which are normally really hard to breed for. :)

Interesting. Your argument would seem to put you in disfavor of unhatched egg items in general. After all, those are dragons obtained by skipping the breeding process entirely, and it's not like new blood is
necessary given the generation rule. (5 or 7 or something steps away from being related.) There are so many dragons out there that non-progen g1's aren't even actually necessary.

Rather than making it unable to be used on g1's, I actually really like the idea that Ettanin proposed. You should give it a read. :) I'll also link it on the OP.

Thank you for the support! I agree; it would make life so much easier!

Thank you for your support, and that's a good insight! You may very well be right about its affect on near-doubles if it's left without the anti-color-matching affect proposed by Ettanin.

The trouble with clan-locking was explained pretty well in
this post. As for a number of uses per dragon limiter, I did think of that, but then I thought of all the people willing to put the work into buying enough of the item to make that dragon into the one he or she desires and just couldn't support it. It's even kind of easy to work around -- just give the dragon to a friend to use the item on and back and forth until it's done. That, or you buy a dragon and adjust it, only to find that you can't use the item because it's already been used on it.
Rather, I think a good solution was one proposed by Ettanin.
