This seems way too powerful, even with the restrictions suggested. I would rather see a single color scatterscroll added (and I also think that is far more likely to happen based on what staff has said in the past).

I agree 100%. I'd support a single-color scatterscroll! However, this suggestion is probably too powerful for me to comfortably support, no matter what restrictions or updates are added to it.

And finally, what the votes are for at all. They serve two functions: first, it's a convenience for the FR Staff. At a glance, they can see how popular or unpopular various versions are and come to their own conclusions. This is not meant to be a petition or anything. Just a convenience. Second, for my own sake. It helps me track which versions are the best-accepted and appraises me on how to best improve it.

The votes serve no purposes towards the staff at all.
It doesn't matter how popular a suggestion is, the staff doesn't care, because they are adding things as they fit into their vision, not how popular they are, other wise we would already have a pose change scroll because it is extremely popular.
Also, it doesn't do any good for the staff to know how popular or unpopular a suggestion is, because they don't know WHY. Does someone like this idea because they want more control over their dragons, or because they are frustrated that their pair keeps throwing them a one off? Is this suggestion popular in its entireity, or do people feel that it needs tweaking? Those are things a vote can't account for and thus something that the staff needs to read the threads to figure out.
Same thing for people who don't support this. Do they not support it because they feel it gives too much control or just because they don't like changes? Do they think it will hurt the economy or is there a suggestion they feel is better?
That is why the staff probably hasn't given a poll for the suggestions forum, because it would give the wrong idea and the staff doesn't care how popular a suggestion is, if they like it and feel it will fit in with their vision of the site, they are going to use it. If not, then it won't get implemented unless they change their minds.
That is why you don't see vote tally on most suggestions, because it is the actual discussion that counts not how popular something is.
As for the pinging, yeah, that is something that is entirely your way, because players can receive replies just as well without pings, in fact some players have pings turned off, so you never know whether they are getting the replies or not.
However, regardless of that, it isn't replies that people get upset about, it is being pinged out of the blue simply because they didn't support something and there was a change to the suggestion. That is what I didn't like, if you had been replying to something I said, I wouldn't have cared about the ping, but I don't like mass pings, at least not ones I didn't ask to be subscribed to.
It isn't conforming to someone else's way, it is simply being courteous and realizing that not everyone wants to be pinged nor do they want to be constantly pinged back to a topic they already weighed in on once and can check up on on their own if they are interested enough.
Just as a FYI, mass pings and ping lists tend to be something that people are a bit touchy about, because a while back, there were some incidents of people adding other people to ping lists, because they didn't like their stance on certain subjects in the suggestions forum. So, people tend to prefer to not be mass pinged unless they ask to be.

No support. This is massively overpowered.
Also, don't add me to a ping-list. I'm not interested in hearing any more "reasons" for this because frankly, it's just a bad idea. It's straight-up game-breaking.
Would like to add--it's kind of weird to have the "THESE PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO BE PINGED" down at the bottom of the first post. Like "hey, these folks don't want attention, let's draw attention to that." I'm sure that's not how you meant it, but it's just...uncomfortable.
Pinging is not necessary for communication in the suggestions forum especially--this forum moves pretty slowly. If folks are inclined to check back to the thread, they will. If they don't want updates, they shouldn't be automatically enrolled in updates. If you want to explain/defend yourself, no one is stopping you, because pings aren't necessary for that.
You seem to be very upset that people were upset with you adding them to ping list. I don't know, maybe you weren't around when there was a campaign of harassment for exactly that--someone kept adding people (with a specific focus on people who said they didn't want pings) to random pinglists to the point that we were getting ~50 or more a day.. Folks who dealt with that are NOT going to feel great about someone putting them on a pinglist without asking.
(furthermore, I...really can't see what's to "discuss" here that would warrant a pinglist, even if the forum moved quickly. Either you feel the item is gamebreaking or you don't.)

Jemadar hit the nail on the head, here. Look at people replying/responding WITHOUT pings-- they're not a necessity, and LOTS of people, especially those on many pinglists already, get very irked when they're unnecessarily pinged.
Regardless of whether the vote count is a functional thing or just your way of doing things, not including non-pinglist people is very skewed. Currently, you say it is 3 for and 1 against- which sounds like more supporting than not. That is quite the opposite. Of course, votes don't matter, but it makes it seem like the opinions are misrepresented. People who don't support don't support this version. If they dont want to know about future updates THAT'S FINE. But they don't support THIS version- which is ok! Everyone has an opinion and a voice. Currently, as counted, the amount of people who do not support it is triple those who do. Your argument that people can't discuss if they aren't pinged has been proven wrong in the last two-three pages of this thread. People check back on things; pings are just obnoxious pokes in the shoulder. 'Hey. Hey. Hey. I changed this come look even though you might look anyway.' If people wanted a ping, they would ask- like I said, I'd been checking back quite frequently actually! Ping or no ping.
At the very least, like @/Trix said, having the list on the front page is very uncomfortable. Make a private list in a document somewhere. That list just makes it feel like "These people are sticks in the mud and don't want to be pinged. Also their opinion doesn't count." Idk, the list and the way that's handled is just... weird. It makes it seem childish and unfair.
Do not misread me- I am not angry nor yelling at you, but this is just silly. Take it from someone who is ON many pinglists, having to go trough them and being pulled to something you already stated you do not support and will NEVER support due to the nature of the item (nothing can ever be changed in the item to warrant my support unless it is a LUDICROUSLY expensive one-color scatter. Skip 5 colors, skip 10, skip a hundred, cooldown, no cooldown, 20kg or 100g, clan-bound or no, limited use or no. It is not an item I can support.) is just a waste of a couple moments of time to clear out the ping in something I have less interest in than, say, getting pinged for existing purchases and dream purchases.
Maybe I'm just venting, here- I'm sure I've repeated what others have said, but. Regardless, that's my two cents.
Edit: Also, yes, as two have said recently- please remove me from your public "no ping" list. You can make a private one, as I still DO NOT WANT to be pinged, but lists like that are not to be public... Considering people should only be pinged if they ask to be added to a list.

It seems you are taking what players are saying personally (no, this doesn't mean you're angry) when most (if not all) are simply stating why they dislike how you are automatically adding them to ping lists. It's not an attack on you or what you do. Just a way of informing you that, "Hey, on FR this is generally seen as a bad thing and maybe you should reconsider" and "This is the way this comes off to us, so maybe you might want to reword or remove this part."
Perhaps you are just unaware of a mass-harassment event that happened about... two, three (?) years ago? Randomly pinging people became an extremely rude thing for most during this time, myself included (to a degree). Someone took the names of over a hundred people who didn't want to be pinged and added them to ping lists across FR. I got over 100 pings that day and, for me, that is anxiety-inducing. I cannot speak for everyone here and their reasoning behind disliking being randomly pinged, but this sort of thing for me can be really hard on my health be it intentional or not. Sure, I get a lot of pings but I know where they are coming from. If I get a random ping months later to a thread like this generally, in the past, this has meant that I unintentionally insulted someone or came off as aggressive despite not being such. That is triggering to me, and others here might even have similar problems (or not, but it's a view to still consider).
More personal reasons aside, it's also a bit annoying or irritating (and I mean that in the nicest way possible) to get a random ping you did not sign up for. This was not opt-in like ping lists generally are. It was opt-out, which isn't exactly something that usually occurs unless you opted-in in the first place. In general, that is seen as rude even though I am sure you didn't intend it that way.
Anyway, no one is trying to tell you how to run your thread. We're only explaining why we find it bothersome. You can run the thread the way you want, but getting feedback should be something you strive for even on a thread-running perspective.

Because of the countless reasons already stated, I do not support this. It seems way too powerful, regardless of the restrictions. The point of the game is ofc to breed for the dragons you want, and an item like this negates a decent chunk of the challenge.
And seeing as you seem to have a pinging problem, please don't put me on your pinglist and please don't put me on your list of people not to be pinged.

Take my name off of your "no ping" post right now. I don't care if you keep a private list or just block me (in fact please just block me) but you don't get to publicly shame people because they disagreed with you.
No support, it's a bit too powerful even with the rules/exceptions. Cool, admittedly, but pretty game-breakingly overpowered. However, I would support a single-color scatterscroll as Jessyta (and I'm sure many others) have suggested.

Exactly this. Every other reason not to support has already been said. And do not ping me for updates.
