Seriously, it is the hardest gene to get; I understand the Mums are a rarer item to find while Foraging, but I've been level 40 in Foraging for a few months now and have found 5 Mums. That's it. I'm getting irritated as I have a fair few Dragons I want Blossom for, and the price for the gene is asinine! More expensive than any other Gene in the game and almost as expensive as a Coatl or WC Scroll, that's crazy!
Can we just bump the odds to find them up a little more? More put them as a drop in one of the Coli Venues?

See I disagree---I think we need a few more genes like Blossom in that it takes some dedication to get. Games need long term goals--if everything is easily achievable it makes things dull. Gene scrolls, once a gene is established are essentially luxury items as you don't need a scroll to get a dragon with blossom (blossom hatchlings can be bought as fodder).

No support. I like the idea of there being some scrolls that are difficult, and some that just take time, in addition to the tr/gem scrolls that are more straightforward. Besides, it adds more weirdly valuable items that food gatherers can sell, which can't be grinded (ground?) for, so there's more opportunities to make money for folks outside of coli. In addition to dependable enough food sales, there's the chance to find a high-cash item.
And for folks that don't want to bother with the gathering, buying mums or starting breeding projects are both viable options. The gene isn't expensive anymore, selling at fodder prices, and while mums are expensive the trade only calls for like twenty so saving to buy them might be faster than using your daily turns if you've been on a run of bad luck. So there's money or breeding alternatives to the gathering, and both have their advantages, although gathering is definitely the cheapest option.

Pretty much this. Players complained that if/when retired items were no longer on the table, there would be nothing worth acquiring, because nothing would hold value. (this was before Roundsey)
I am glad to see that there are still things that can be considered longer term goals, and honestly I want more genes like blossom, with high level gathering skills needed, or even one or two that are even harder to obtain. Even breed change scrolls or even breed specific eggs (like nocturne) that are harder to obtain.
With something that doesn't retire, there is no *need* to obtain it the moment it comes out, and I feel that genes and breeds are perfect examples of items that can be used to experiement with to see how long they can retain value while being always available.

I remember back in September we had a similar thread!
It was going for a lot more at that time, too, 5750g to be exact!
That being said, I have to say no support ;o; It's nice to have challenges!

@Drakel
I'm a G1 collector, so it doesn't matter to me that I could buy non-G1 Blossom kids on the AH.
I'm just over every petsite game I play becoming just like real life; Over-inflated prices and endless grinding. I just want something easy that doesn't take ages to get, I thought games were supposed to be fun.

I mean, current LAH for mums is about 70g each. You need 20. Or 1400g if you bought them all at LAH. Most gem genes are around 1200g. So it’s just a slightly pricier gem gene, no? It’s far from unattainable if you put in the effort. And if this was changed, why just blossom? Imperial scrolls are expensive, and they’d make my life a lot easier if I could purchase them for even 1kg off the marketplace.

And there are plenty of genes that are easier to get if that's what you want, but we also need things that take more work and are a longer burn. There needs to be a balance of both.

[Font= georgia]This is what I was thinking.
Blossom really isn't that expensive. It's not like it's this unobtainable gene. What's the fun in every gene just being a one-click thing on the marketplace? We need goals in the game, and we definitely need more genes like blossom that are difficult to get.
I'm a G1 lair too. My projects are super expensive, but that's just how the game is. You need to work for what you want, just like in real life.

That's understandable, too. We've got different tastes is all. I've been gathering for mums off and on since the gene was released, and I'm at 17 so far, and to me the slow burn is fun. I play very casually though, so I haven't been trying to accomplish anything in good time. I can understand it being frustrating, I think it's down to taste in this case. If you want, you can have the mums I've got. I'm in no hurry, so you'd probably get more out of them than I would.
