@jemadar I was thinking just baby exclusive apparel like baby bonnets and rompers and stuff, and it would be half as much art needed as normal apparel.

I support skins/accents for permababies only, not regular hatchlings that will grow within the next few days. No fest skins just UMAS.
No support to apparel due to slowing down the production on other site content ex: more breeds, apparel, genes.
Not a fan of permababies in the coli because in lore I feel the hatchlings should be able to grow into their adult fangs and claws to actually defend themselves.

I've heard/seen an idea where the only apparel permababs get is easily copy/paste ones, like flowerfalls, and I think skins would be fine, because there would be people willing to make them.
I guess maybe coli? I'm pretty indifferent to that.
Also, they can already be set as a profile pic as people have pointed out.

I am totally down for coli-ready permababies because, as someone else mentioned, not everyone's permababy dragons are ICly babies. Some are near-feral, some are dwarfed or stunted, etc. It would be a lot of fun to have that kind of accessibility added to coli teams ( and who doesn't want to see a group of tiny terrors taking down the whole golem workshop? )
Apparel I'd say no to, unless it were things that were overlay specific or easy to add like animals or flowerfalls, no clothing that actually had to be fitted to the dragon's body itself. It should be items that the staff will not have to add an incredibly heavy workload onto their shoulders and whatnot.
Skins would be a no-issue honestly, as long as they set up an option to add to the dragon itself then people would definitely make all sorts of bits and bobs to pretty up their permababies.

Not really big on the idea of babies for the coli. It rubs me the wrong way, and I feel them not being coli-ready is a fair enough trade off for them being babies forever.
Maybe to the apparel. It'd take time away from other sight additions, but so long as they keep the list small and simple (like, three or four exclusive items for the babs, not counting recolors) then I'd think it'd strike a good compromise between both sides.
Absolute agree on the skins/accents though! I see no reason to not add those!

I feel like if it's perfectly acceptable to put a bunny over an invisibility cloak on a dragon to bring a bunny into the coliseum, it should be similarly acceptable to take a permababy into the coliseum. I'm pretty sure a baby dragon can defend itself better than a bunny or a mouse against monsters. A lot of people, including myself, train them to 25 and give them high stats anyway, so, canonically, even if they're babies, such dragons are just as capable as adults. They'll do the same damage, have the same abilities, have the same health, and the same defense as an equivalent adult dragon.
If someone doesn't want to see permababies in the coli, they are more than welcome to simply not bring them into the coli. It's like how I don't want to see plague primal dragons in the coli because the eye type disturbs me, or how I don't want to see nocturnes in the coli because I don't like them and I'm tired of triple basic nocturnes. I just don't do it if I can help it. It doesn't mean that everyone else isn't allowed to.

If we accept the argument "they can have normal level 25" stats, because they're visible, you also have to accept that they look like hatchlings, and hence are hatchlings. Crushable, physically defenseless, much lower agility.
That doesn't mean they can't fight. But there is no way this doesn't deserve a debuff. It's also a good opportunity to increase build variety --- automatic lower physical defense and dodging skills, much more innate magic and magical defense.
Still. They're literal hatchlings. It says so when using the item. Saying "my lore" is about as valid as "but in my lore, ridgebacks are smaller than faes". However, there's nothing in the way of changing the definition of an item. You could select a type of effect it would apply, giving us actually different perma babies.
Hell, maybe they can even have a different pose and wear accents. There's good potential to the idea, but also a myriad of ways to ruin it. Not to mention... adding the feature only to a new, improved item could mean a lot of profit for the devs. Fair? Hm. Feasible? More than a good amount of suggestions, financially, anyway.
