I'd like to see it raised. At least, I have no quarrel with it.
Maybe make more than 2 of them Baldwin skins, if treasure amount is a concern. That said, making treasure is pretty easy
Grind coli. Flip marketplace/fodder. Sell Baldwin mats/brews. Breed and sell fodder. Treasure isn't hard to get your hands on.
The staff have to go through the entire entry thread, anyways. Picking a few more they've already looked at wouldn't be much harder.
Matching the amount of breeds could be untenable after awhile, depending on how many breeds become available, but for now, 16-20 festival skins isn't a bad idea.

My issue with the picking isn't that they would have to pick more, but that there might not be more good skins to pick from, meaning they have to pick subpar skins. Or, eventually, there simply won't be enough good entries to pick from. While there are many entries in the threads, how many of those are ineligible for some reason or another (rule breaking, or are complete joke skins, have issues such as too dark areas, or changing line art etc..), which brings down the number of eligible skins down.
I would rather have fewer skins ,but those skins be *good* ones than dozens of skins each festival, with most of them being ones that wouldn't normally get approved through the regular skin submission.

Couldn't we solve the problem by, if and when this becomes a problem, just lower the number of skins getting in again?
Right now it doesn't look like "there aren't enough quality skins" is a problem. The fact that we have at least three more dragons than the last time the skin cap was raised isn't theoretical like "there might not be enough quality skins" is.

Support. If you play this game and you're a die-hard completionist, you're gonna get frustrated and give up by the time you hit the bestiary. This game rewards casual play.
Also, I don't remember the last time I went into a fest skin entries thread and wasn't immediately assaulted with dozens of top-tier entries. And even if there was a festival where bad skins won, you have the option of just... not buying them.

It takes
Twelve Years for one Imperial pair to produce a Primal-eyed offspring of a specific sex. Goal-based breeding is dead.

The issue with this is that there is no guarantee that your favorite breeds will get more skins, it may be more for breeds you dislike. More skins doesn't mean more people buying, especially if they continue to ignore the best skins, for whatever reason, and keep giving two or more skins for the same pose. sure, one or two festivals may have one or two more skins that you will buy, but that still leaves 9 festivals that have more skins overall, but you are still buying the same number of skins you were with the reduced number.
I didn't say nor imply it was a guarantee that more skins I like would be picked.... I used the word could... But it's undeniable that more skins being picked does up the odds of there being more skins that selective buyers are willing to buy... That's how odds work.
Again the issue with more festival skins is I don't believe they WOULD make a good treasure sink, not in the long run, because players would burn out much faster, even if they aren't completionists. Remember we have 11 festivals a year, and even now players are getting burnt out over them. Adding more of the same to them will just make that burn out faster.
I don't agree with your logic here at all, sorry. Having more skins available for people to coincide with the increase of breeds isn't going to cause burnout unless people have the "gotta get them all" mentality.
As you put it earlier, "not every treasure sink has to be huge". This may not be on the level of Roundsey or lair expansions in terms of treasure removed, but it still would be a sink.
And I think the fact that every month there are skins that are not selected that end up being sold as fest rejects (for quite a bit more than if they had been selected) indicates that there are more quality skins submitted than slots for winners... And be increasing the number of skins selected, it may encourage more people to enter (because, again, basic odds).
I also think that people are overlooking that the original suggestion wasn't just add a couple more skins, but to constantly keep adding skins in order to keep up with the number of breeds, which I feel is unsustainable in the long run, especially with 11 festivals a year coming around.
This wouldn't be the first time that a thread in this forum morphed from what was originally suggested into what players actually think would be feasible.

Support, it’s not really hurting anyone to raise the skin cap a bit, especially with the introduction of ancients who’s core game mechanic makes skins even more important as customization. While I don’t think it should be required to have a skin for each breed every year it’ll still increase the chances of more breed variety anyway. Also every year we see good skins that don’t make the mark so I don’t see where that’s coming from? And people have different tastes, you may not like a skin that gets picked but plenty of people probably do like it.
As for the too much money argument, you don’t have to buy all of them, a lot of players don’t care that much. It’s not even ridiculously hard to get them anyway, because if you’re a completionist chances are you’re already saving up for the fest. Plus you still have a small chance to get them with the joxar box so you’re not only limited to ah prices. There’s also the idea of some of then being Baldwin skins which is also pretty nice too.
Overall I don’t see any big negatives, and the only reason Id hold back on this is if they gave us other ways to get treasure skins that aren’t coliseum skins all year long but that’s another suggestion entirely.

Support! I love skins and accents and with the amount of breeds on a steady upward creep every year it seems only logical they'd add a few more winners to the festival selections.
Besides, any kind of new treasure sink is a plus.

Support! There are always so many pretty ones that don't get chosen, and it only seems reasonable that the number of slots increase as we get more breeds, so that more breeds have a chance of being represented!

It would be nice if they'd raise the cap, but it still wouldn't guarantee that we'd get one of each type.

UK time. Sorry for timezone-related delays in responses. They/Them.
Yeah, support.
We have two new breeds and two more for sure on the way (the ancient that is going to be a gem breed and the modern that they posted about with progress at some point), and it would definitely be beneficial to add some more. Not a ton more, but 2-4 more sounds like a good amount tbh.
Also, adding one last thing- there always seems to be excellent skins/accents not chosen. I don't think we'll run out if we add in some more slots.
I want EFFECTIVE treasure sinks, not just any old treasure sink.
Limited-time sinks are more effective than permanent sinks, because there is always a sense of emergency - people are gonna spend more time on the site to make sure they get the item.
If more lair expansions are added, I don't have an emergency to go and sink my money yet. It does not really boost my interest in the long run, and I don't play more than I usually do.
However, if there are items cycling in, or retiring in two weeks from now, this will absolutely boost afluence on the site, meaning more ad revenue and more treasure being sunk.
