Showing up again to support this suggestion. I just raised up 12 (lv. 8) exalt fodder dragons through the Kelp Beds between yesterday and today. I've gotten 67 bits of currency out of it. Then I stopped and did the last 5 (lv.8) I had in the Mire. I got 7 currency out of that (I average to about 33 rounds to take a dragon from levels 1 to 8 in the mire. That was 165 mire rounds for 7 currency. The drop rate was 0.04. What in the ever-living-heck is that for a Mire festival currency drop-rate admins?!).
Yeah.... *sighs and puts on the Arena boots*
Frankly, I pretty much expect I have to buy my currency off of the other users these days. But judging from the AH prices, everyone is having a bad time this holiday (the cheapest 99 stack is around 120-220k). So some extra holiday-specific enemies or something to make the neutrals actually drop currency like regular element enemies would be great.
Personally, I'd also prefer it if the admins could decide if currency is supposed to be rare or very rare. Because if anyone else is paying attention, their description for the drop rate isn't always the same for every holiday. I wish they'd pick one difficulty setting for the festivals, the back and forth isn't fun or engaging.

Haha, it's funny you should mention the absurdly unbalanced currency rarity.
Last festival (Gala) I ended up with almost 600 leftover snows and 20 total event chests.
This festival (Trickmurk) it has been a chore to get even a puny 50 'cones over two days of grinding.

Yeah, regarding the currency rarity. Some holidays just dump currency at you for some reason. Riot of Rot is a great example of that. That was literally the very first holiday I've ever had here (been here since the first Brightshine holiday) where I was able to grind oodles of currency and actually get all of the chests.
What's notable is I worked the Mire for that holiday too. Redwing Croakers show up at the exact same frequency as the Blackwing Croakers. Why the mire during RoR should drop currency like they're discount tic-tacs and then get nearly nothing from Trickmurk in the
same area is completely baffling to me.
So far, I haven't gotten any chests, despite all of the grinding in the Kelp Beds and Mire, which supposedly should give you better returns than the Arena.
Right now, the Arena, purely through all the neutrals is doing better than the neutrals and element enemies in Bamboo Waterfall, Mire and Kelp Beds combined. ...... I don't even get it. (By which I mean that over three hours I managed to get 10 pinecones in the Arena last night, just curbstomping everything. Compared to the earlier examples given.)
To be honest, I'm very tempted to just go back to the Bamboo Waterfall just because it gives more stuff to hoardsell than the delta and just prepare to buy up more currency than I expected from other users again.

Heh.
I tried the Arena, but RNG just said "nope" and kept giving me mobs without neutrals. When the neutrals
did show up, I got no currency 80% of the time.

I can't remember if I've already said I support this or not, but I do support this. It seems a tiny bit unfair that some flights have far more mobs than others do. I mean, look at the light festival, there's so many mobs, it's very easy to gather currency. Compare that to others, who have far less mobs, like shadow or arcane, and it's a ton harder.
I'd be fine with increasing the mob number, mob spawns, or adding in new monsters.

As a relative newbie with little time to dedicate to grinding, and fairly low-level dragons still, I support this level playing field.

Support! Last year doing Thundercrack right after the Jubilee was almost torture; I think the rate of getting currency was halved due to the sheer number of Light monsters.

I'd support elemental monsters that appear only during festivals, a la the turkeys and mimics.

I also think it could be incorporated into Beastclan mythology rather well? Like, beastclans responding to impending festivals and sending out more of their own creatures to deal with the influx of dragons?

I think it would be nice if the amount of elemental enemies/drops per festival were even. Some holidays are easier to grind than others, which means that some holiday items are worth more and others less (and some holidays are more frustrating, which isn't all that nice). For example: Light holiday is super easy to grind, as we have a coli venue with two light enemies + three neutral ones (Arena), which means that it is a nice relaxing holiday, but the items will be dirt cheap. In contrary, Lightning holiday was very tedious with no areas that had many Lightning enemies, leading to lot more frustration and more expensive holiday items.
So, I'm not supporting just blindly raising the amount of elemental enemies, but rather raising the drop changes of currency/amount of elemental encounters for holidays that are harder to grind?
