Overview
Massive dragons from the Emberglow Hearth region, their aimless burrowings lead them far from their birthland. Most active during dusk and dawn.
(edit note: Another locale they can originate from is Greatwyrm's Breach)

Physical
Gaerds are very large dragons with short limbs and a long, serpentine body. Their wings are very reduced, incapable of flight. They have a tough ribbed armoring on their back and head. Running down their sides all the way to the tail are little nubs that the dragon can move a little, and they can accurately sense vibrations in solids or liquids. They usually lay on their bellies, but when rearing up they lean on their muscular tails.

Gaerds are expertly skilled at swimming and burrowing, whether it is through lava, earth or water. Their preferred method of hunting is ambushing prey from below or camouflaging themselves and waiting for it to wander into their grasp.

Social
Gaerds are rather sociable, talking with other members of their species with low rumbling and growling. Lair
Natural lair is a simple loop where the dragon can turn around without too much trouble. In mixed-species clans they burrow an u-shaped corridor into the shared lair.

Combat
Gaerds prefer to ram with their armored head, crush small enemies with their bodies and tear larger ones with their teeth. If overwhelmed, they quickly burrow/dive away.

I suppose I should thank everyone for the support? I am thankful! Just worried that it's not proper etiquette to thank folks on threads like these.

When designing this I pretty much thought "what would be my dream dragon on flight rising?" and this is what came out. my dream is fat salamanderwormdragons
