Xaz fluttered around the clearing, trying to catch the ridgeback's eye but always seeming to be blocked from sight by the movement of a larger dragon at critical moments. Growing increasingly impatient, she began darting back and forth faster and more recklessly, wishing her leafy yellow scales were more reflective- and therefore more noticeable- in the evening light. If she had thought to bring a small mirror of some kind, perhaps...

With her eyes stubbornly fixed on the ridgeback, she was caught completely by surprise when she smacked directly into the side of a grey spiral. "Oof," she squeaked, sliding to the ground with a small thump. She nudged her goggles off her eyes and blinked up at the larger dragon, looking a bit dazed.

@Nelsothy

The spiral snapped her head to the side, looking at the bright fae, dusting dirt off her arms.

"Oh I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to block you!" Atropos helped her up and checked to ensure she was alright. "Hiya! I'm Atropos! They call me Atty!" she smiled as she extended a claw to shake

The fae took Atty's claw and shook it, cheerful despite a little wobbliness. "Nice to meet ya, I'm Xaz, don't worry, I've flown into worse!" She leaned in, crests fluttering conspiratorially. "You'd be amazed by how easy it is to not see a guardian who's the same shade of green as all of the plants around them."

Atty's eyes grew wide as she flew closer to the fae. "Oh really?! I've never been very nimble swooping in and out of dragons." She clenched Xaz's claws eagerly as she waited to hear more stories. "Oh do tell me about it! I love a good story!"

Xaz flicked her wings bashfully. "I don't think it's that exciting of a story- oh, but maybe I could make it more exciting if I told it in the right way! What a wonderful idea for an experiment! But where to start?" She pondered this for a moment. "Well, Menthe- one of my clanmates- tells all sorts of stories, and she always starts by describing the setting." Mind made up, she puffed herself up and began.

"Now, Atty, I don't know if you've ever been in the Viridian Labyrinth, but its name is almost an understatement. You can spin around and around and see nothing but the greenest greens you could ever imagine. All the trees are so big and tall and close together, it's like being in a big, leafy maze of tunnels! In fact, the canopies are so thick you can't even see the sun from the ground in most places. It's very, very big, and very, very easy to get lost." She stopped suddenly, crests drooping a little nervously. "How am I doing so far, do you think that's a good description?"

Chronos, a magenta Clown tundra, was one of the few tundras whose temperament fits their coat pattern.
Despite loving trickery and mischief, however, Chronos realized that he should learn how to actually interact politely with dragons outside of his clan, because he would undoubtedly receive harsh responses from outsiders who weren't used to his quirks like his best friend Vivian was.
It was actually Vivian's suggestion in the first place, that he goes to the crowd of mixed origins to learn basic etiquette. He sat at the edge of the crowd, unexpectedly hesitant to talk to people, and waiting for someone to start talking to him.

Yersinia strut her way through the crowd of larger dragons with a confidence that seemed far too big her tiny fae body. Not paying any mind to the dragons all around her save for one, the dark and shimmering fae wore a look of absolute annoyance, her red eyes narrowed with displeasure.

The object of her ire walked alongside her, her own more colorful visage wearing a much more friendly expression on her plump fae face. Cantarella showed not a flicker of change in her calm and friendly expression as she felt her adoptive sister's displeasure grow, save for the laughter in her eyes growing.

Finally, Yersinia had enough. She stopped, planting he claws stiffly in the ground, and growled loud enough to startle several other nearby dragons. "Cantarella," she hissed.

The Arcane far slowed leisurely, turning to face the other. "What ever could be wrong, Sini?" She questioned in a mocking, sing-song voice.

Yersinia narrowed her eyes to thin slits in displeasure. "Why. Are we here. And don't say-"

"Because you need to learn how to play nice~!" Cantarella interrupted, clearly enjoying the other's displeasure and secure in the knowledge that as much as she annoyed the other, she would never be hurt by her dear sister. "Truth said so, as good of a fighter as you can be, there are times melting flesh off bones won't get you anywhere."

"It does too get places..." she growled, annoyed, but before she could complain more, the heavier fae was pushing her in the direction of one of the nearest dragons, not giving her much of a chance.

"Hello!" Cantarella chirped, her expression the exact same as it had been earlier as she approached magenta tundra, somewhat counteracting Yersinia's glare.

Chronos turned, looking for the source of the chirping. He saw a bright chirpy fae dragging along a dark silent one.

He wanted to make a joke at the gloom of the dark fae, but he held his tongue. He wanted to try following the basic few manners Vivian drilled in him, before he forgot about them.

Besides, he dealt with the matron of his clan, Amaranth, long enough to learn how an angry fae looked like.

He grinned at the two fae, his canines showing, and replied: "Hello. How are you enjoying yourselves in this beautiful gathering?"

Okay, so maybe he couldn't resist a teeny tiny nudge at the gloomy fae, but it wasn't a big deal.

Yersinia bristled, raising her head frills in annoyance. It's like he's laughing at me, she thought, eyeing the tundra warily and fighting back the urge to hiss at him. Cantarella would surely berate her, and much as she disliked being here, she disliked getting her sister angry with her even more.

Cantarella ignored her sister's obvious displeasure and grinned back up at the much larger dragon. "Oh, I find it quite fun," she commented, glancing over at Yersinia in amusement. "And I'm sure Sini does too." She nudged her sister with her tail.

A growl of annoyance and a short, "I hate you," were all the response she got from the Plague fae, which didn't deter her in the least.

"I'm Cantarella, and this is Yersinia," she introduced. "Don't mind how scary she looks, I'm here so you'll be fine. ...probably."

Chronos' grin turned even wider, even as he toke note of the "probably".

He etched to write a note about the faes in his tiny notebook, but he had left it at home, because Vivian insisted he stopped depending on it and started depending on his own memory. As if he would need the notebook if his memory wasn't faulty!

Regardless, he said: "Pleased to meet you! My name's Chronos, and my best friend roped me into going to this crowd to be more social or something."

The Plague tundra's grin softened and became a smirk. "But I haven't talked to anyone beside you two, and I'm too bored to stay still for longer. If you have any idea to ease boredom, I'm all ears."
