Aurum continued to kick at the vines wrapped around his leg as they spoke, with no avail.
"Whoever it was-was pretty bloody already. I could barely see a face through it. He shivered again, before continueing. "Theres not much I could tell you anyways, I try not to think about memories like..that"

this is truly not enough evidence, and I don't want to kill you without a reason, so, tell me more about you and your father

While all the drama with the vines was going down, Questionable was still trying to convince the mansion’s butler to let him talk to the person he needed to see. Finally, after a lot of convincing, the butler agreed, and went off to fetch them. After a few seconds, a dark-haired young man, dressed in typical noble attire stood in the doorframe. He looked shocked. “I thought you died twenty years ago…” he began, but he didn’t have time to explain before Questionable shushed him. Suddenly, in the back of his mind, he felt a twinge of sorts. He somehow felt that Aurum was in danger, although he didn’t know how. Pulling the strange man alongside him, he ran into the street, noticing Aurum had vanished. Looking around, he though he saw the end of a vine in an alley. He ran towards it, looking for his almost-friend.

Aurum kicked at the vines one last time, before finally feeling the weight of the dagger in his pocket. He hesitated for a second, before driving the thought out of his mind. He couldn't use violence the escape this. That would just prove to Devil's Grin that he was untrustworthy, and that would cause them to just keep coming after him, until he was enventually killed. The idea of using a knife at the moment also made him feel a bit queasy.
"I'm just your average teenage boy with a father who runs a criminal organisation. Funny story actually, my father forced me to kill a man as a present for my 16th birthday. I obviously left after that and now he's placed a bounty on my head. Is that enough information for you?" He said it in a sarcastic tone, though he knew that Devil's Grin would find no lies in his words.

Devils grin actually smiled at this, he liked this kid a lot. it reminded him a lot of himself, he opened his mouth to say something, but then the shockwave hit. the glass around the room shattered, and the noise was so strong in his ears that he clasped on the floor, not smiling for the first time in a decade. The pain was to unbearable, all his illusions broke, and he knew he was done for.

Questionable ran towards the alley, dragging the strange man along. "You're supposed to be dead," he said to Questionable, who ignored him, "I saw him kill you." When they reached the alley, they saw Devil's Grin and Aurum, wrapped up in vines. The strange man looked at Devil's Grin and started to back away slowly, but Questionable didn't let him.
"Hey you," Questionable shouted at Devil's Grin, "Leave the kid alone! He has nothing you need." Then, springing forwards, he returned to his true form to confront Devil's Grin. Behind him, the strange man seemed to hesitate, before he also transformed, however, he did not turn into a wyvern. Rather, he turned into a large, canine looking creature with a long tail and very sharp teeth. Together, the two beasts circled on Devil's Grin.

Aurum turned to face Quinn with a grin, though his focus quickly turned to the man he was accompanied by. His curiousity grew ever more when the man turned into a monster. Another monster? How had they gotten in? THis one didn't appear to have wings. How many monsters even were there in the city? Aurum couldn't answer these questions at the moment, so he moved them to the back of his head, turning instead to face Devil's Grin, when he noticed something was wrong. They looked to be gritting their teeth as if in pain. He then looked down to see the vine loosen it's grip around his leg. Quickly tugging it off, he backed away from them, though he still didn't pull out his weapon.

He quickly recovered, smiling again instantly, but sat up to face to large beasts, on a large dog, and the other Quinn. "funny seeing you here isn't it, almost funny enough to let me live?" He jumped back when the dog creature lunged to bite him. "and I only wish to kill the killer of my brother, and the instant I asked a question, you ran." he quickly raised an illusion, nobody else needed to get involved." He realized that he may die here, yet was unable to cry or weep. he hung his head, waiting for the worst to come. But, what was that noise, and why did he hear screams below him. nevermind, he wont have to worry about it soon.

While Devil's Grin's illusions were distracting and very realistic, now that he knew how to see through them, they became easier to ignore. Suddenly, however, when the screams from below began, Questionable stopped trying to kill Devil's Grin, and instead jumped into the air, bursting through the nearest window to the outside.
Somewhere in the middle city, he realized, and explosion had gone off. Quickly returning to the alleyway, he collapsed into human form and began to shout. "Someone just- Someone just tried to blow up Hightower. It could've been the people who attacked us earlier, or it could be Aurum's father's organization. We should try and see who did it, we need to stop more innocent lives from being ripped away."

Aurum froze at the sound of Quinn's words. Someone had tried to blow up Hightower? No thats insane. Whoever it was would get themselves killed in the process. Nobody would do such a thing...right? Though once the sound of screaming reached his ears, he knew it was all true. He couldn't even pinpoint where the screaming was coming from, as it seemed to be coming from all diections, including below...
"Are you insane? The cities already lost- we should just get out while we still can-"
He stopped, though he wanted nothing more than to leave the city, he was sure that if they left now, they could all leave the city before it inevitably fell. Though the rememberance of the Middle City..All though people....Aurum knew he couldn't just let them die. They didn't have a way out of the city. If nobody helped them, every single one of those people would be dead. He knew that he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he left them without even trying to help first.
"Okay fine-lets go find the people who caused this. And if and only if we have the chance.." He would sigh "We should aim to kill."
