(finally finished school work after 12 hours)
Evelyn
Evelyn cackled with a wicked expression. "I agree with ya there, Lava Girl, and don't worry your pretty little head Shark Boy, I know what I'm doing!" Apparently the girl had already come up nicknames for Lance and Adara, both referencing quite the strange childhood movie.
'Isn't it a little stupid to mention that sort of thing when just meeting people?' Evelyn kept the thought to herself as she listened to the dragon-fly quirk user vent about their home problems. She didn't need to make enemies on day one, it was best to weed out the bad apples on day two. That way, if you found out a bad apple had something you needed on day one, you could still pretend to like them.
"Eh? Never heard of em? Not surprising." She quickly brushed off the subject, "When are we gonna get to the actual training? There's a few people here who I'd like to whip into shape!"
???
Slowly approaching the old van, the girl was thankful that her black wings were only iridescent under strong lighting. The dark alley kept her wings and tail black, which provided much needed camo considering all the yellow she adorned.
Suddenly, the girl scrunched up her nose as a putrid smell wafted up her nose and threatened to choke her unconscious. 'Stars, this place smells worse than rotten corpse' she internally criticized.
The muffled sound of yelling and arguing caught her attention, and the girl hunched her body language to appear less threatening as the noises got louder. Suddenly, a figure shot past her, causing her to grumble as the wind from them running ruffled her feathers. 'Ah, bingo' she thought as she spotted Vamp's Ire.
She cleared her throat loud enough to be audible, unfurling her wings as she held out a folded note in her hand. In the other hand, two fingers curled: the index and the ring finger. The sign of the pits.
Admittedly the girl had internally no idea what to do, but her boss had told her something about Vamp's Ire being in debt to an "old friend". Whatever that meant. Either way, she was told this interaction wouldn't end in a fight, but that didn't mean the smell of the alley didn't make her feathers bristle.

Neira smiled a bit at the mention of training and replied,
“We could run outside and have a bit of a spar between some of you, just to see where y’all at. Actually let’s do that, Adara I nominate thee as medic since you just so happen to have a healing quirk.”
I’ll have to pull information out about the Pits later then… And be listening carefully…
She thought as she pulled her hood back up and used a bit of shadow to open the door.
Adara looked at Neira as she replied,
“You only say that because you fear what I can do… I have ‘Ire’s number for crying out loud!”
She then looked back at Evelyn and added,
“Never been called that, but the reference is pretty spot on really~ Continued permission to use it~”
Adara hummed a bit as she came down and lightly stroked Lance’s tail as she walked by.
Lance made a gecko-like chirp at Adara as he slipped a hand into his coat and pulled out a more ornate looking flask and a pair of sunglasses before taking his coat off and putting the glasses on the front of his shirt and the flask in his back pocket as he said,
“Same here, I’ve been slapped with worse too…”
He then let his eyes slit up as he flashed his fangs at Evelyn and added,
“And if it’s a fight you want, I can deliver as I’ve taken a knife to the heart and still stand, so don’t feel like ya need to hold back much bar head injuries. Worst that will happen is I’ll decimate the local wildlife, I’ll try not to kill anyone as that’s kinda frowned upon for some reason.”
The last part sounded fairly sarcastic and the whole thing came off more as him accepting the challenge than trying to be intimidating.
He put his sunglasses on as he walked outside along with some of the other’s who had started pairing up.
Let’s just hope Feral stays pretty inactive…
He thought.
Luther - Vamp’s Ire
He slid the door open a bit and looked like he was about to tell the bird like girl to not so kindly leave, but then his gaze flicked to her hand and Vamp’s Ire said,
“‘Ite, gimme two seconds… As you seem to be a bit smarter than the numbn*ts I would have killed a moment ago…”
He dipped behind the door for a second as he pushed his right sleeve up and grabbed the hidden blade mock up he’d created for himself, took it off to sleep as it wasn’t the best feeling in the world to lay on that. He put it on rather quickly and concealed it with the sleeve and pushed the door fully open as he put on his rather torn up hooded cloak before stepping out and closing the door again as he then asked,
“Whatcha got on that note, little birdie, assuming it’s for me that is? The only reason I’m even being this diplomatic at the moment is either way I get something I want or I get to f*ck up some poor soul’s day where nobody gives a f*ck if they live or die.”

Evelyn
"Ire's number..." Evelyn mumbled to herself as she took a mental note. Something about the Ire was apparently to fear. Her train of thought was quickly changed due to Lance's sudden energy switch. With bared fangs he made his friendly declaration of war against Evelyn, causing her to smirk.
"Yeah? Well you better give it your f*cking all Shark Boy, and don't worry about killing me, just focus on not destroying the wildlife. If I see you hesitate just because you're afraid I'll die, I'll slit your throat, understood rookie?" She jeered back with just as much fervor.
(I'm going to avoid having Evelyn revive until later in the RP. Why? Because I like drama and I want it to be an emotional moment, but I gotta get your characters attached first >:) )
???
With the question being thrown out, the girl opened up the letter and held it out for him to read. The letters were big enough that he did not have to take it if he did not want to.

Lance’s tail flicked as he stepped outside and a patch of scales appeared on the back of his neck as he replied,
“I would honor that, but morals say ‘no killing’... But the
other half firmly yeets that out the window.”
That reaction to hearing Ire… So she possibly has encountered my uncle then. GREAT! I’ll be dying of shame in the corner the instant she sees the similarities I share with him and asks.
He thought.
Neira took the group a short ways to a makeshift arena as to mitigate the chances of some poor random getting hurt while trying to enjoy their day.
She stopped in the rough area of the middle and cleared her throat a bit as she said,
“I’m more lax on sparring rules as I come from a household that can make a friendly one look vicious only to be totally fine a moment later. Buuut since not everyone here is regenerative or has a weird sort of inbuilt healing, I will lay out some ground rules. Parents tend not to like it when their kid comes home missing half an arm or in a body bag.
Don’t kill each other.
And please try not to tear off limbs, unless that’s part of your Quirk.
Spars end when one of you either forfeits or has been restrained for more than thirty seconds.”
Adara walked up next to Neira as she added,
“If you do get a bad injury or break a bone, get my attention and I’ll heal you up. Just know that I can’t make you regenerate a limb or finger… Or set a dislocated bone with just my fire. I’m also good if your opponent has one of those more ‘berserk’ backlashes and won’t back off, I’ve stared that down before and gotten it to be a
little more reasonable.”
Looking more at you Lance… And the two times I’ve encountered Feral
She thought.
Lance slid out his claws and took up a more battle ready position as he said,
“I’m ready when you are… And hehe, ladies first!”
(Lance is kinda too well trained to commit to killing someone normally, as in he’d underhandedly fake you out with it to hide that hesitation and strike elsewhere.)
Luther - Vamp’s Ire
You could see his saltiness from earlier leaving as he read the note over.
Well… I can definitely say that it was fun last year. Makes having to talk with someone during the day more tolerable.
I’ll have to come back and get the van in later for convenience.
He thought before he looked the girl over with a more critical eye as he said,
“Well then, this is a pleasant surprise. I’m interested so lead the way ma’am.”
Besides, it’s easier on my eyes down there than up here.
He added mentally.
(Weird question time: Does Ann’s poison retain its effects if ingested? Why do I ask this?
Lance/Luther could be victims of it by feeding on someone that got injected if it does… As it’s a poison that lingers in the bloodstream
Yeets this down just so I can ref it better)

(Back! Also to answer your question, yes. Think of it like venom rather than poison. It has infected the blood, so if they ingest the infected blood the amount of blood/ venom potency will determine what happens. When you eat something, some nutrients will travel to your blood stream, and the venom will as well. It will be weaker than it was in the host.)
Evelyn grumbled when the pro-hero went over rules, angrily mumbling when "no tearing off limbs" was mentioned. "It was one time." She huffed under her breath, wondering if her teacher back at her high school had told Umbral Haze about her sparring incident.
Shrugging as Adara mentioned her healing abilities, Evelyn took the time to subconsciously set her save. Her lips pursed and she rolled her eyes and Lance's comment. "You're on thin f*cking ice with that comment about 'lAdIeS fIrSt' Shark Boy."
Evelyn then grabbed a grenade from inside her jacket and pulled the pin, surprisingly however, she did not throw it.
???
With the new command fresh in her mind, the girl wasted no time. She shot into the air and jerked around Vamp's Ire, scooping him up from under his arms and made her way to the Pits as quickly as she could.
Giving no sign that she was listening or paying attention to him, she dropped him near the entrance of a small- deceptively small- building. It was a little warehouse that had been abandoned for god knows how long, and was supposed to have been demolished- but never was.
Squeezing in through the half-functioning metal door, the girl quietly led the way, and if it weren't for her yellow clothing it may have been easy to get lost as she traversed down a flight of stairs and into a maze of hallways.
Birch, willow, maple, birch, willow, maple. They passed by stained doors whose age had begun to take a toll on their foundations, though this was the most well-kept part of the Pits. The Offices were a place where everything was kept (mostly) clean, and all the technology was up-to-date, but considering the Dungeons were lit only by old candles, that wasn't much of a bragging point.
The only red-oak door in the whole building stood in front of them. It was the door to Carnage's office.

[being honest gonna be just Lance]
There was a brief flash of panic in Lance’s eyes that he quickly hid as he pulled his right arm down sharply then flicked his wrist upwards. Causing a bit of shadow to painfully poke Evelyn’s grenade hand (with the intention of causing her to let go) and attempted to use a more tentacle-like bit of shadow manipulation to fling it so that the lethal radius wouldn’t get anyone.
Shrapnel is easier to deal with than the force of the blast… And the heat of it could potentially leave a burn, and those I don’t do well with.
But f*ck if that’s not stressful as those things have what? Like a five second timer?
Lance thought, then made a mental note of the position of his opponent's shadow before charging directly at her, one hand ready to swipe… Only to start to turn away as he got closer and said,
“I’m sorry if I offended delicate sensibilities with my upbringing… But you’ve set the bar pretty high for what I’ll do~”
This one always f*cks with people as it's more of a fake out combined with momentum. As they never expect where I’m coming from.
He added mentally.
(I now also know more about hand grenades than I ever cared to. Such as the 100% dead range is 5 meters, the you’ll likely die is 15 meters and shrapnel is 250 meters. So yeah Lance never cleared the shrapnel range’s harm, just the imminent death range.)
Luther - Vamp’s Ire
I’m more used to this kind of thing than I really should… As I lack even the wall climbing one of my relatives has or elemental manipulation of another.
Still, I’ve got survivability to make up for it.
F*ck there’s probably an idea that the folks in the middle ages tried for this loose idea I could take a crack at making into a weapon… Bored people got insanely inventive with ways to kill each other.
He thought as the girl took the liberty of flying both of them there.
Luther followed the girl, but didn’t really say much of anything as he’d picked up on the fact that she hadn’t said one word and there was no deed to say anything at the moment. However, with the dimmer lighting his eye started to take on a rather subtle red glow as he thought,
Maybe I’ll try and pin down the current address Lance is at and send him something from a fight. Been a while since I’ve done that.
When they stopped at the oak door, Ire lowered his voice quite a bit as he asked,
“Dose one of us just knock? I only ask as I’ve killed someone for doing just that at the wrong time. Almost did earlier.”
(the legit reason I asked is b/c I learned one day that snake venom is actually edible [protein based] and snakes are not immune to their own venom… And ever since then my mind and poison/venom have not been the same)

(O yeah that's always funny to remember. Also YES YES SEND LANCE A SNIPPET OF A FIGHT, EEEE HE CAN PONDER OVER WHAT THAT WAS FOR A WHILE. WE CAN GIVE OUR CHARACTERS A FEW DAYS TO BEFRIEND EACH OTHER AND IF LANCE DECIDES TO FESS UP ABOUT IT EVELYN CAN TELL HIM ABOUT THE PITS, AHAHAH IT'S ALL COMING TOGETHER)
Evelyn
Just as the grenade was poked by Lance's quirk, BANG! A deafening screech followed in the ears of anyone nearby. A bright flash lit up the whole area with a blinding white.
It was a flashbang grenade that had been modified to look like an explosive.
In the second that the flash lit up the area, Evelyn ducked right- Lance had most likely moved, and she didn't want to be vulnerable to an attack- staying within the light zone as she drew her pistol. Unfortunately, she couldn't see her target through the glare left from her explosive, so when the light cleared from her vision she shot a bullet as quickly as she could towards Lance.
'Impressive how far he moved without sound, the Pits had me against someone like him once, I wonder whatever happened to them. They were a fun friend while they lasted.' She thought.
(side note, my action scenes can be kinda much- so I just wanted to let you know, the stuff only hits your character if you want it to.)
???
The girl raised a hand curled backwards with the knuckle of her index finger pointed outwards. She reached up and knocked three times in a triangle pattern.
Knock
Knock
Knock
The sound echoed through the hollow wood of the door, coming to a chilling stop all too soon as the pair were left in a few moments of an uncomfortable silence.
'Great. I can't even have silence anymore. Wasn't aware that Carnage could take more.' Evelyn bitterly thought to herself, although was cut off when the door swung open- nearly smacking the two.
Inside was a room filled to the brim with valuables. Sentimental photos hung over each other on a wall, weapons sharpened to their finest above the door, the finest-quality gemstones engraved within the chandelier that gracefully stood overhead. The room had a nice little round table that matched the wood of the door, and five chairs were placed around it- a lack of dust indicating that this room was used quite often.
In one of the chairs sat a man at about 11.1 ft, with a brown trench coat and black suit pants. Dark, straight hair was dyed bleach blonde on one side, and both sides were curled backwards into a ponytail. A crown of large teeth was threaded neatly in his smooth hair, and large canines stuck out of his mouth. Large, furred paws were adorned with even larger claws. His bulky stature matched his quirk as well.
Carnage. Quirk: Ursidae.

[being honest gonna be just Lance]
Lance’s pupils became extremely thin slits as he hissed softly and closed his photosensitive eyes as he thought,
Okay, now you’re really getting-
He then heard a gunshot and due to trying to protect his eyes from the light a moment ago hardly even had time to react as the bullet pierced his shoulder. He could feel the itch of his regeneration working to close up the wound yet still could feel the pain of it.
Lance made a bit of an over dramatic show of playing into the force of the shot however as he fell backwards into his own shadow, then quickly moved to Evelyn’s as he thought,
I’m fine, Feral is still inactive… Well okay is watching with intense interest but doing nothing.
Lance then stepped out of the shadow and took a swipe at Evelyn from that position.
(I hadn’t even thought of the implications of said gift… BUT YESSS TO THAT! As I was gonna have it be a body part Lance would have interest in eating [heart/liver] and still might as Lance has morals about doing that to humans. And never be afraid to hurt Lance of all people!)
Luther - Vamp’s Ire
He wasn’t as intimidated as most people are at the sight of 11’1 ursine figure should be, then again his regeneration was able to save him from most horrid injuries and make his opponent regret everything.
I feel you wanting to ‘accidentally’ hit someone with the door on a spiritual level. Pity the doors of my van are sliding or I’d have bonked so many people with it.
He thought as he cleared his throat a bit and said,
“I received your message good sir and came to part take in removing some folks from the gene pool and pass out weapons.”
There was a slight pause as he then added,
“But I’m guessing you invited me for something more specific I have or just to get first pick before someone less deserving gets the good stuff.”

Evelyn
When Lance emerged to swipe at Evelyn, she appeared to be focusing on doing something. She jumped away when he emerged, but not fast enough to avoid being hit entirely, as a scratch formed on her leg.
Her expression had gone blank as she stared down at him, pulling another mystery grenade from her jacket and tossing it. Another flashbang, but with a bit more heat to it, and anyone nearby could have sworn it was just little brighter and a little more loud.
Then, she was gone from where she had jumped to, and back to being right next to Lance- gun pointed at him as she fired in the spot he had attacked from. She had teleported. 'I don't know if I'm even hitting him, shadow and light quirks have always been a bit tricky. No matter, Shark Boy is still fun to play with, even if I don't win.' Once again, the light from the grenade was blinding enough that Evelyn was mainly just shooting in the general direction she assumed him to be in.
???
Carnage let out a loud, booming laugh as he stood, walked, and reached over to slap Luther on the back. "Do not be that way comrade, relax, yes? You are most valuable person to the Pits."
He waved his massive arms around as he spoke. "You remember last time, no? Rigging the matches in favor of whomever you liked, taking the blood of the 'winners', helping me kill police and heroes who found their way in?" He pulled a bottle of campaign from his coat.
"We will have much more fun this year, yes?" Carnage's sharp teeth were bared. "I have better plans this year, and a true bloodbath is to come! I even set up a tournament for you- you'll win, obviously- but you'll get to have fun with your opponent! Oh, you will love it I already know."
His green eyes then flicked to the girl standing in the room with them. "Speaking of tournaments," he added," I would like to introduce you to my newest project. The Angel of Death. It took me 8 years to train it to perfection, but it's almost there! And that's also why you're here, to help out a little."

Lance
Damn she uses flashbangs, the f*cking bane of my existence!
But she can’t see either!
And I left a cut on her leg? And have sensitivity to that smell!
Lance thought as he heard another gunshot and felt it peirce his side yet only winced a bit as he closed his eyes and took a second to reorient and take a deep breath as his shadow moved in a more ‘probing’ manner.
The smell of copper.
The weak feeling of another mind.
The sound of a quickly beating heart.
Lance’s head turned in Evelyn’s direction as his shadow formed up in the shape of shards that shot towards Evelyn’s rough location as Lance jumped to one side and used his tail to provide some balance as he said,
“I accept this challenge to basically fight with my eyes closed. Forces me to use other senses in creative ways!”
He then moved slightly to the left to throw Evelyn off since she’d also be relying on hearing for the most part to take aim.
Luther - Vamp’s Ire
He flashed his fangs in a non aggressive manner at Carnage as he replied,
“Starting conversations is always a bit awkward, but dear god was last year a riot! Selling weapons to someone only to then see them die and just casually reclaiming it, weakening one combatant to throw the odds with a bit of vampirism, and getting to annoy the crap out of the cops by making them ‘disappear’ slowly to freak them out… Too bad I can’t convince one of my relatives in particular to join me, you’d absolutely love his Quirk and how great both looks and is in combat.”
He then looked over at the girl that had been referred to as ‘Angel of Death’ and pulled out a vial and throwing knife from his coat and added,
“I could teach ‘er some blade tricks or provide some aid with throwing knives. No cost as getting to actually fully drain multiple people in the next few days or so is worth it.”
Luther then popped the lid on the vial and swallowed its contents as he thought,
Now why do you refer to the birdie as an ‘it’? Isn’t she more feminine and kinda more human-like? You cookin’ Nomu type sh*t up in here? As she seems more with it than those brutes.
He then put the empty vial away and started twisting the knife around his fingers in ways that most would have been too ‘chicken’ to try as he threatened to cut off his own fingers several times yet didn’t.
