Cheryl woke up relatively early, the sun still making its way wearily up the mountain like a snail who's snot was ready to paint the sky. Cheryl blinked. W h a t. Was that. That was nice. Sleep. She hadn't had that in awhile--let alone something decent. She then realized her current situation. She looked around at the calm morning, the birds chirping in the smooth morning daylight. She looked up at Apollo and her face turned infinitely red. 'damit stawb bein a mess' she whispered to herself shaking her head. She then proceeded to poke him nervously. She blinked, unsure if she should wake him up. Cherl proceeded to giggle in a little fit of not being able to decide. She rolled up her sleeve, inspecting her scars. They were red, but now that they were away from the city, they would have time to heal. She spread a creme on them, grumbling to herself a bit irritatedly. Then an idea proceeded to slip her mind. She bent down and grabbed some snow, giggling with the perfect crime in mind. She put it in the hood part of Apollo's hood and waited for him to realize, grinning with a mischievous look in her eye like '=>'.

Apollo was in a deep, dreamless sleep, unaware of the time or the weather. It was calming, like a lake without waves or movement where even the slightest touch would cause a disturbance.
That was when he felt the poke.
Slowly, Apollo started to wake up, coming out of his deep sleep. He felt movement from next to him and, were those giggles? "Wha..." He mumbled sleepily, only somewhat awake.
And then it was cold. Really, really cold.
"AGH!" He yelped, launching upwards in shock, now fully awake. "C-Cold, cold!" He quickly put his hood down and brushed the snow off his head, shaking his head to try and get as much off as he could. The sudden shock had sent adrenaline rushing through him, his quickened breathes were evident in the cold morning air. "Why would you do that." He said, looking at Cheryl with a startled look. He frowned slightly, picked up some snow of his own, and threw it a Cheryl. It was a fine powder and was more of a miniature snow flurry that a pile of snow and didn't really do much. "I-I'm going to wake up first next time." He said. His tone clearly wasn't angry, although he still seemed upset and startled by what had just happened.

Cheryl giggled hysterically, chocking over a bit after a few seconds. ``S-Sorry!`` she said between desperate gasps for air. She shook the snow off like a dog. ``I deserve that,`` she said, the laughter running thin between choking and breathing. ``But now your awake`` she said, grinning. ``I meant no harm,`` she said miiildy jokingly. ``But that was adorable and I'm never gonna let go of that.``
She looked at him, tilting her head.
``Cold?`` she asked. ``Watch! Human magic!!`` she took something out of her pocket that looked like a little mesh pouch and shook it until it started glowing very vaintly orange. She tucked it in Apollo's hands. It was one of those heating pouches. ``Warm!! See?``
Her hands were actually warmer than the pocket itself, and that was saying something considering that the thing was pretty warm. She giggled. ``Ilovehavingfriends`` she said, halfly to herself. ``Warm now?`` she asked, the mischevious smile still plastered on her face although she wasn't actually planning anything.

Apollo looked down at the warm packet in his hands. It was warm, like fire magic. "Whoa." He said, poking it with one hand. "How did you do that?" It was strange how warm the tiny packet was, although it was a bit concerning that Cheryl's own hands seemed to be warmer. "These things are so helpful." He closed his hands around the packet and drew it close to him, enchanted by the warmth.
After folding up the blanket and putting it away in the sled, Apollo dragged the sled to the road, sliding it along the icy path. "Now that we've gotten sleep I should be able to use my magic for longer." He said, pulling up his hood. "There's going to be a lot more light too so it should be easier to maintain." He smiled and began making orbs, his horn once again glowing. "Without these it would take much longer to get back to my village, these things can push the sled surprisingly fast." He smiled, making the last of the orbs. "It'll be more of a sight seeing trip, er, hopefully. As long as nobody else is on the road it should be fine. Oh, here." He handed Cheryl an orb, one that was a lot bigger than the rest. It was just like the ones from before only it seemed to be more malleable like slime; it also had what appeared to be cat ears adorning the top.

Cheryl giggled. ``Science!`` she said, afterwards yawning. The bright reflective snow was enough to make her head hurt, but as it was something she was used to, she didn't make much of it. She grinned when Apollo drew the pocket close to him.
((I SWWEAR I THOUGHT OF THE 'i wish i could be that rose' what' 'I SAID YOUR GROSS' MEME AHAH))
Cheryl marveld once again at the sight of his resivor. She grinned and it gave her chills. She almost lost herhead when he handed her the orb. ``ISSQUISSYY!`` she exclaimed. ``EEEEEEithaslITTLEEARSSS!!!``
She drew it close to her body in a way that was almost protective. ``Oh my lord it's so pretty!! It's so cool you can just make these.`` Cheryl exclaimed, a little out of breath from laughing previously. ``You're pretty awesome, Apollo, I don't know why so many people hate enchanted.`` She reluctantly took her scarf off and put it aside, picking out what looked like red flaky drywall, and then put if back on like the stuff on the inside was bothering her. She looked back at the orb. ``Is magic like easy? Is it like how everyone said just to believe or is it just like natural? I've heard someone overtalking when I was little saying it was a part of them, which would also be a cool theory.``
Cheryl looked out past the landscape and then to Apollo, smiling. Then giggling.

"Oh well." He said the mention of other enchanted. "I'm pretty different from other enchanted, or at least the ones I know. The ones in my village are, well, not as friendly." He looked up at the sky which had less clouds than usual, you could actually see the blue. "I'm the only one in my village who doesn't see a point to all the fighting, or at least the only one that I know of. And, I could say the same thing for you." He turned to Cheryl, smiling. "You're a lot different from the humans that I've met before. Maybe if other enchanted meet you they'll see that humans aren't as bad as they all think." He watched as Cheryl picked... something out of her scarf. It seemed to have been bothering her but in in a painful kind of way.
He pondered for a second at Cheryl's next question before answering. "I think it's a bit of a mixture of both." He said. "Magic is a part of every enchanted, that's what reservoirs are for. They store the energy needed for magic which would make it internal. However, I think believing also important. You have to trust in your magic to do things, like how I made that" Apollo pointed to the cat blob that he had made Cheryl. "I had to trust my magic to do exactly what I was thinking to make that. If I didn't believe in myself, it would have turned out all wonky." He watched the landscape go by as the orbs pushed the sled, keeping an eye out for the first thing he wanted to show Cheryl. It would be coming u soon, possibly in the next 5 or 10 minuets, but for now there was nothing really of interest. "Um, Cheryl?" He said. "If you don't mind me asking, what were you picking out of your scarf? And life in the city, what was that like?"
((It's fine, I've been stuck in class and also sleep is important. Also, I see you are making an art shop, do you want to be affiliates?))

``Unicorns are always better.`` she teased. Cheryl paused and almost choked when he said she was different. I am? She asked herself quietly.
``That's really super cool. That's a lot of trusting, tho`` she said, half-heartedly. ``I would never trust myself to do that.`` Cheryl chuckled but she said that in a way that kindof pained herself to listen to. ``I guess that's something you have to get used to though,`` she added. ``And you guys have been doing that since you were little.`` Around half of that was just an observation. She looked down at the cat-orb and it never ceased to make her happy somehow.
``Oh-`` Cheryl paused when he mentioned her scarf, and there wasn't enough fuel in her brain to consider lying, but it was certainly hard to bring about.
``Aa--uh. Bl-blood,`` she answered hesitantly, bringing a hand up gently to her neck. ``And life in the city--uh. Most of my life was impacted by my dad, so I don't know how much of a normal answer I could give you,`` she said, grinning. ``Lots of streetfights, but you know what they say. A hundred bad days make a hundred good stories. Many mothers with their children stayed in their homes, so it was just the men and somewhat few women like me wandering the streets.`` She chuckled. ``School was easy, but not like they bothered to teach, but it was also really fun because that's kinda how you learned how to fight.`` She grinned, recalling memories of the school squabbles she used to get involved in. ``Oh, and everyone kindof knows everyone, but not know know. Like we just call each other names. My fighting name was Rat. Funny, I know, but I get it,`` she said, laughing a little bit. ``There's pollution and very few good people. Lots of betrayals and backstabbers, especially in government, so there aren't really rules anymore. You can kinda just do whatever ever since the political breakup a few years ago.``
Cheryl looked up at Apollo, grinning. ``I'm glad to have left. Your a million times better than anyone in there.`` She started running her fingers between the ears of the cat blob, like she was petting it in some way shape or form.

"Ya, I guess I'm used to it now." He frowned slightly, thinking back to when he was little. He hadn't been that open and trusting back then, that's how he knew that the orb could get wonky. It had taken him years to finally trust in his magic, technically he was behind in how advanced his magic was meant to be.
Apollo jolted when Cheryl mentioned that the stuff in her scarf was blood. "Wha- blood?! Are you ok?" He was genially worried and fidgeted nervously, unsure of how to help. He listened as Cheryl talked about life in the city, it sounded awful and nothing like the life he had. School? Fights? No rules? "That sounds completely different than what I experienced." He said, mumbling slightly. "There are fights occasionally but not everyday and most people are relatively nice. There's a lot of rules though, lots of rules. I can't even imagine what life is like without a bunch off rules."
"And school, I've only heard about schools, we don't really have those." He laughed, scratching his head. "I had to teach myself how to read and do math. I can't really write that well though, my handwriting is nearly illegible. With a small town getting a good harvest to make money off of is more important than learning." He paused for a second before asking. "Cheryl, is that blood in your scarf from one of those fights? Is there anything I can do to help you?" He hated seeing people hurt, especially if it was because of fighting. Normally he was a pacifist, not wanting anything to do with conflict, but for some reason he felt the urge to go and punch someone if they were hurting Cheryl.

``Mhm,`` she said slowly, nodding as if she needed to tell herself that, too.
``Well,`` Cheryl reconsidered her words. ``There were house rules, obviously, but I guess that makes sense. Food is more important than how many watermelons George carried from the store to his house in four hours if he could carry three a trip that each took fifteen minutes,`` she said, laughing. ``Oh! Maybe I could teach you! It's fun, I guess, but only if you get the hang of it. If you don't then it's absolute trash that makes you cry all night because you have an exam or something. But luckily for you I don't assign exams, and I'm better than a teacher!`` she said, past little giggles.
``Ah-no. I talk to much,`` Cheryl said, her voice cracking. ``So my dad made it so it was--painful--to talk.`` She winced at her own words. ``That's why I sound like my voice was tossed in a blender whenever I talk,`` she said, almost trying to forcefully giggle or lift the mood, but it's not really something that could be turned into a good thing. ``He's a bit strict. But I'm fine! He probably wouldn't even notice I'm gone.`` Cheryl took off her scarf and rolled up her left sleeve. There was almost an entire chink of her arm missing, where skin gave way to bone. It seemed like it was old and mostly grown over, but it looked like one of those fantasy skeleton arms you would see in books normally. Around were inch deep scars, but they hardly seemed like anything compared to what could have been all over her. Adding onto her piebaldness, were burns that looked like they were still burning, sometimes skin even flaked off like ashes. The work of some sort of fire magic. ``The critical damage was probably from him.`` She pointed to the scar on her neck. There were white strings that looked torn filling the edges. ``He did the same to my brother. But I can heal now, and my brother ran away a long time ago. He says hi now and then.`` She sighed, but it reminded her she was never going back, and that made her smile. The scars radiated a kind of heat, and some of them opened when she so much as moved her arm. It would mildly explain why she was always so warm, and why she was really pale. ``And now I have you,`` she said, a little bit of water glossing her eye. ``I'm not letting you go, you big dumb unicorn,`` she said jokingly, hugging him. She was quivering a bit but when she returned to her cat orb, she laughed with a real laugh. ``What a crazy life.``

“That’s be great.” Apollo said, smiling. It would be useful to learn skills that most, if not all, humans knew. It’d help him blend in and would probably be helpful in general. School sounded interesting and probably had so much useful information, perhaps it could help him get a better paying job…
Apollo’s heart Neely stopped when Cheryl explained the blood. “Y-Your own family did that to you?” He said, his voice as quiet as a butterfly’s wings. “That’s awful…” He nearly jumped when Cheryl revealed her half arm, burned and scarred. “Fire magic…” He breathed out, recognizing the signature burns almost instantly. “I… I’m so sorry.” He didn’t have the words to say what he felt, how had Cheryl been through so much and still was happy? “I’m kind of shocked that you stayed with me. An enchanted obviously did that to you.” He paused, unable to say what he was going to say next.
What if I was the one who did that to you. How different would this be?
Their lives had been so different, it was hard to compare them. And yet, here they were, sitting side by side and not having the urge to fight for some illogical reason. “Oh, hey!” Apollo said, the sled slowing down as he shakily stood up. “This is the first spot that I wanted to show you!” He smiled and extended a hand towards Cheryl.
