But things are still precarious, even if they seem perfect to the regular citizen. Not everyone got to safety in time. Those that remained were changed. Now monsters lurk in the mists below the cities. But not every beast remains safely outside - some are much closer to home. [img]https://i.ibb.co/N2pcjsP/ab.png[/img] [b]Synopsis[/b] Almost 300 years ago, the city of Vivifica was built in the aftermath of a series of chemical explosions that laid waste to Earth. It was spearheaded by the most ingenious of the remaining humans, a stunning city in the clouds that loomed far above the devastation of the land below. For three centuries, peace reigned and the people within the city lived without fear of what they had left below as they repopulated. But now something has changed.... 16 years ago to the day, the ruling council of Vivifica issued a surprising decree - any child with strange, possibly inexplicable irregularities was to be given to the government for the good of the whole population. You were one of those children. In the present time, the ruling council has made yet another announcement, this time presenting what they call a new source of entertainment. Hunters. Trained professionals tasked with journeying outside of the safe confines of the city and into the devastated land below. There, they hunt the monsters that have evolved amidst the devastation, all in an attempt to please their "fans". But it's so much more than that. Cameras accompany the Hunters almost everywhere they go, and regular citizens are beginning to watch their every move through their screens. Because when all is said and done, Hunters have one goal - become popular. Make it to the top of the rankings, and stay there. Fame and glory await those who succeed. But the competition is fierce, and the Hunters will soon learn that not every monster remains outside of their protected city, and not every one bears a beastly face. [img]https://i.ibb.co/N2pcjsP/ab.png[/img] [b]Q & A[/b] [i]What is an applyfic?[/i] Like a roleplay, users create characters. Unlike a roleplay, the users do not get to use their creations. Instead, the moderator (which is, in this case, me) uses them and writes of their adventures for the users to read. Then readers can discuss what they think of the story alongside their predictions, and perhaps share constructive criticism. [i]How do I make a character?[/i] The form will be included below. Copy-paste that and fill it out to make a character. [i]Is there a maximum amount of characters per person?[/i] Not formally, but please don't go crazy and make an army. I need to be able to keep them all straight. Anywhere from 1-5 is ideal, though you can make more if you really want to. [i]What is your opinion on LGBTQ+ characters?[/i] Bring it on! I myself am not a part of the LGBTQ+ community, but I count myself as a supporter. However, please keep in mind that I may not portray all sexualities/genders/etc correctly seeing as I do not experience what they are like myself. Therefore, don't hesitate to correct me if I make a mistake. The same goes for any special conditions or disabilities you may give your character. [i]Will this ever be closed to new characters?[/i] Not in the foreseeable future. I intend to keep it open to new characters until I either finish the story or find myself incapable of continuing. Regrettably, the latter will probably be the case, but I hope to have some fun writing in the meantime! [i]Is it possible my character might die?[/i] Unfortunately, not every character will survive this story. For this reason, I recommend you make more than one just in case. Please don't get angry if your character dies - I'm not trying to be deliberately nasty, only working to improve the storyline. [i]Will my character get to have a chapter from their PoV?[/i] It depends. I choose character PoVs based on what is happening in the story. I don't really stick to any kind of order due to the changing nature of the character cast, so it's pretty random. Generally speaking, some will get several chapters written from their PoV, while other won't get any. [center][img]https://i.ibb.co/N2pcjsP/ab.png[/img] [b]Background Information[/b] Hunters became what they are today due to one reason - the fact that they, unlike every other member of the human population, had inexplicable abilities. After 16 years of training, they are now ready to be unveiled to the general populace. Here are some things to know about them: [i]Colors: [/i]Each Hunter has two colors that are "theirs". These are unique to them and help identify them both on and off the field. Examples are brown and green, beige and white, etc. Get creative, and don't choose the same, or similar shades to someone else without a good reason. [i]Magic:[/i] All Hunters posses this mystical ability to some extent. It manifests differently from Hunter to Hunter, but remains powerful in each and every one. Every wielder of the arcane is marked by enhanced physical abilities (speed, strength, dexterity, etc), alongside their specialized skills. Some have unusual characteristics such as oddly-coloured eyes or unnaturally-shaded hair. A few even have more marked physical differentiations, though it's more rare. [i]Arcane Specialties:[/i] Every Hunter has their own special skill in the arcane arts. They vary from flight to elemental control, but no two Hunters have the same power. [i]Weaponry:[/i] Guns are not available in Vivifica. Instead, Hunters use swords, bows, axes, and other "medieval" items to defend themselves. Some also go the extra step and enhance their weapons with magic, or tech (I will intervene if enhancements get too out of hand). [i]City: [/i]Vivifica is circle-shaped and split into ten triangular quadrants. The families that live towards the centers of the quadrants are richer, while those further out are working class. The very center is solely for those who rule the city, nobles and such. All Hunters were taken from their families at anywhere from 1-4 years of age, and most likely don't have too many memories of the time before they were moved to the Training Facility, which is located underneath the Palace (where the Lord of the city and his council reside). They spent 16 years in that facility, training their bodies and skills, and only now have they been moved into a wing of the Palace and introduced to the general population as celebrities (of a sort). Hello again! The last time we met was during the Deities RP campaign. While I was sad to see that end, I'm looking forward to your newest concoction. If I learned anything from that RP, it's that you're a great writer! This new plotline has me intrigued already and almost reminds me of The Hunger Games haha

Is it alright if I throw one or two of my OCs in here? I thought I'd ask in case you prefer entirely new characters.

@LegendaryManpig No offense taken! And I too am sad to see Wings of Change end, but I normally write such things to practice, and would prefer to work on this subject. Maybe one day I'll put some work into reviving it.
