The Plaguebrought Roleplay
The OOC chat
Many questions have been asked about the world’s status, so here is a full blown map and more of the surrounding world. I will add information here more often to keep the beginning of the OOC chat more clean and information more organized. Here you can check up on the percentages of zombies vs. dragons in one area, supplies and supply use, survivors vs. zombies left, etc. Not all information will be given right away for roleplay purposes. Because everyone likes a good mystery. ;)
This information is based on what the dragons in CAMP CURALA know as of now, for that is the central camp where most of the interactions are happening. So keep in mind that this is all the intel gathered by Camp Curala, not all the camps overall (or at least not quite yet).
Anyways. Enjoy and happy surviving! (If you make it out alive…)

~The Windswept Plateua~
Zone Element: Wind Reigning God: Windsinger Indigenous Life: Green June Beetle, Garden Snail | Region Population: 90% Dragon / 10% Zombies | The Windswept Plateua is one of the most protected flight zones of them all. Despite having one corner directly touching the Scarred Wastelands, the high cliffs and strong winds have proven difficult for even completely healthy survivors to navigate, much less the more fragile undead. With this zone disconnected from the rest of the continent by water and the Sea of a Thousand currents, it forces zombies to go the long way around, making it difficult to trek through water and cut through winds for a shortcut. Most zombies that try to launch and fly high enough to invade lose their own wings and plummet into the sea. Here will be the center of safety for most. |
~The Sea of a Thousand Currents~
Zone Element: Water Reigning God: Tidelord Indigenous Life: Red Squireel, Grey Catshark | Region Population:98% Dragons / 2% Zombies??? | The depths of the Sea of a Thousand Currents was once crystal clear have now become murky with dumped over rot. On the edge of the Scarred Wastelands, the overgrowth of the rotten virus have spilled into the salty waters. Fresh zombies that couldn’t make the flight are scattered amongst the surface or have sunken to the bottom of the ocean. The water flights living amongst the waves have all retreated down below into the sea, quiet and hidden, so nobody can be for certain if zombies inhabit the Sea. Some may linger on the shores of the once brilliant ocean, but whether they lurk below like crocodiles remains to go unknown. Nobody dares dive down deep enough to find out... |
~Dragonhome~
Zone Element: Earth Reigning God: Earthshaker Indigenous Life: Spinach, Eastern Mole | Region Population: 50% Dragons / 50% Zombies ??? | The zone is close enough to the Scarred Wastelands that it is reasoned that the dragons there were some of the first to make contact with the virus. It is also reasoned that at least the front half of the zone has been infected. Despite its name, the Greatwyrm’s Breach was able to hold off many of zombies that had been grounded, forcing them to go the long way around instead of just straight over the Breach. Although nobody can confirm that this defense was enough to hold out for being one of the zones to come into first contact, it is entirely possible the first wave was fresh enough to get enough fliers to leap across the gaps and deeper into the zone. Only those on the other side will know for sure. |
~The Viridian Labyrinth~
Zone Element: Nature Reigning God: Gladekeeper Indigenous Life: Black Tulip, Glowbug | Region Population: ??? | The land that is the rivalring flight to the plaguebound lands. It is hard to tell how far the virus will spread, but all we can see as of now is that the Behemoth still stands tall in the distance. Nature dragons rarely leave the safety of this zone and its ability to combat plague dragons, although that is at a risk of accelerated rot of course. No gamble is guaranteed. Those who try to enter though are often shut out for fear of spreading, despite the caring and nurturing nature of the nature flight. Hopefully you understand. |
~The Tangled Wood~
Zone Element: Shadow Reigning God: Shadowbinder Indigenous Life: Petal Moth, Swimming Anole | Region Population: 40% Dragons ??? / 60% Zombies | A place as shrouded and secretive such as this one is hard to dissect to know just how much is left. Although it is guessed that these lands are filled with zombies, having been on the borders and being one of the first to endure the beginning waves. Despite the many theories on what may or may not be taken over, one thing is for certain. Those who walk into the impenetrable mist do not often come back out. Here, the zombies are just as comfortably at home as they are in their rotting homelands. Darkness can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. |
~The Ashfall Waste~
Zone Element: Fire Reigning God: Flamecaller Indigenous Life: Wave Skimmer, Strawberry | Region Population: 70% Dragon / 30% Zombies | The ever shifting fires have managed to create enough pocket holes of burning lava to swallow up a few unfortunate dragons. The heat dries up corpses and the settling blood within to make it difficult for the virus to spread through each body, but not impossible. Zombies who live here, or mostly undead here, are those toughened enough and/or long gone enough to brave the fires without worry of being killed by the smoke and fires alone. Most zombies here are stage 3 or 4, making it much harder to fight them with their “no pain and all gain” tactics. Those close enough to the Molten Scar and the Great Furnace are safest from the zombies. Although the flight of fire is just as stubborn in battle as the zombies are. The virus is slowly creeping across the lands here. |
~The Shifting Expanse~
Zone Element: Lightning Reigning God: Stormcatcher Indigenous Life: Runic Pug Moth, Yellowtail Caterpillar | Region Population: 60% Dragon / 40% Zombies | Zombies who make it far enough have found it easier to grow in numbers here then they do in the Ashfall Wastes. The undead that had survived the fiery pits have found plenty of dragons to turn, letting their numbers grow bigger here. The Carrion Canyon has done nothing to stop them besides slowing them down. The desert is more difficult for travelers than it is for the undead to cross, making this just as dangerous, if not more so, then the Ashfall Waste. The zombies here often tend to turn around or invade other areas nearby rather than stay in one spot. Their hunger does not drive them away from the lightning storms, so don’t be surprised if the lightning reveals a horde of wriggling bodies when night time roles around. Despite the skin crawling sight, be thankful that Stormcatcher grants you enough light to see them coming even at night… if he’s still there at all that is. |
~The Sunbeam Ruins~
Zone Element: Light Reigning God: Lightweaver Indigenous Life: Sun Baked Oysters, Dwarf Shelf Fungus | Region Population: 40% Dragon / 60% Zombies | The invasions from neighboring zones has left these ruins in ruins. Dragons of the Light Flight are not always fighters and so it has become very difficult to fight off hoards with multiple scholars. The advantage of broad daylight and wide open fields has given this zone enough of a chance to fight against the growing zombies, although it is not much. Zombies tend to retreat back into the Hewn City where darkness shrouds the only dark corner of the zone, and many dragons don’t dare go in to find out just how many zombies are in there. It is at night when things get hectic and most clans go down underneath the mini waves of hordes. Many have fled from this zone to other more secure zones to avoid being eaten due to the disadvantages and hope their knowledge becomes helpful elsewhere in finding a cure. If only they knew that these mini waves were just the beginning. The Sundial Terrace and Mirrorlight Promenade are the most defensible places in the zone and where the biggest light zone survivor camp will be. |
~The Starfall Isles~
Zone Element: Arcane Reigning God: Arcanist Indigenous Life: Catoptria Grass Moth, Dusk Jadevine | Region Population: 30% Dragon / 70% Zombies | The direct neighbor to the Scarred Wastelands, this one was hit the hardest and the fastest. Despite the clans having been far out at sea, the first wave had enough flyers to take down more than half of the clans living there. Many beginning clans were taken down before the stronger clans were able to push back the wave with their magic. The zombies that survived were able to crawl back into the Starwood Strand where they sit and wait, hoping that their meals will come to them in their desperation for food. The arcane have to run out of food sometime, and they surely cannot live off of eating just crystals. Many clans have starved with the limited resources as the zombies have kept a lock down on the only woods available to hunt in. This has made this zone one of the most desperate and cut off zones in the continent. Those who know about the clans on the Crystalpine Reaches either grieve and pray they find a way or die trying to save them by flying over a sea of zombies. Pray the Arcanist looks away from his Eye of a Thousand Lenses before its too late. |
~The Southern Icefileds~
Zone Element: Ice Reigning God: Icewarden Indigenous Life: Giant Darner, June Beetle | Region Population: 95% Dragons / 5% zombies | The icey fields would be almost completely void of zombies if dragons did not bring back the monsters to hold in their icey prisons. The zombies have broken out and are terrorizing those they can find, often freezing out in the snow, unable to move but alive enough to watch you pass by none the wiser. Some Ice dragons have thought of clever ways to use this to their advantage and ship zombies across seas to bargain for riches, whether to please prisons or bring them back for study, often ending in catastrophe. Many ships and their shipments have gone down in the seas between the Icefields and the continent, but don’t cross out the icefield threat yet. Zombie dealing is a very dangerous business that is made easier as long as they are frozen in the cold. Zombies are not affected personally by the cold unless they get wet somehow. Moisture is their only enemy when it comes to the cold. This leads to many dragons’ many mistakes. |
~The Scarred Wastelands~
Zone Element: Plague Reigning God: Plaguebringer Indigenous Life: Salt-Marsh Mosquito, Bog Canary | Region Population: 0% Dragons / 100% Zombies | The one you all have been waiting to hear about and the one to bring down the rest of the continent. These lands are filled to the brim with zombies. Rotting corpses that had been pulsing with mutated life hve now become corpses walking around, taking the places of so many dead dragons. The population has overflowed into other zones, causing the first wave of famine and disgust. This was where it all began. Any dragons who live here are force to flee sooner or later, preferably sooner. Those who flee later don’t often live long. If the Plaguebringer is at fault for this whole ordeal, it is unknown to the rest of the world… don’t be surprised if something twisted comes out of this H-E-Double toothpick pit. |
