Basically there’s three main types of magic (not including dark arts)

Elemental is like your fire/wind/water/earth kind of magic. It’s the most basic type of magic out there and is commonly used.

Animalia is where the person has animal like abilities, like shifting into a fox or having wolf like hearing/strength. They cannot learn Elemental magic and vice verse, but this brings us to the last type of magic- Hybrid!

Hybrid magic is a mix between Animalia and Elemental, like someone with this can have cat like agility and control nature. Their magic tends to be a bit weaker and calls for a lot of practice. Or can often be a mix of two Elemental magics/Animalia magics
