Backstory:
The Tidelord thought he had destroyed the explorers... Explorers can be dangerous, and the pilgrims were warned.
Yet... Somehow... Some way... They weren't destroyed...
When the thirteen survivors awoke, they had no idea where they were. They couldn't accept that the face they had seen in the depths had truly been that of their leader... Shaken by the horror that was just experienced, the dragons turned their backs from Sornieth and surveyed this new land...
But what the dragons found on that island brought even more pain. Broken civilizations scattered the land, but those were not the worst part. They found remains of dragons... Colossal dragons... Dragons that looked so much like the Eleven... And they were.
Then, the book was found. And it held a much different story of the past then what the dragons had believed...
The Tidelord tried to stop them. But he only reinforced their fear. After the book, the survivors all agreed to forget the Eleven, forget Sornieth, forget their past... Now would begin a new future. A future without the lies...
A Fae flitted into the cavern and collapsed on the floor from exhaustion.
Asteri grabbed his neck and lifted him up to her face. "Well?" she snapped, rage breaking into her voice.
"Dearest," Snipp started in a voice that wasn't his own, "you're choking me."
"Oh, who cares? I'd do better without you anyway," Asteri said, snarling in impatience. "You do nothing but get in the way and talk, and it's always the things I don't want to hear."
Snipp remained silent, his blank eyes staring beyond Asteri.
Finally, the angry Mirror let out another growl and released her grip. "That worthless love potion..." she muttered, whipping around to look defiantly at a great map stretched across the stone wall.
Snipp robotically arranged into a rigid sitting position. "The Dreathe Province had this message for you," he started slowly.
Asteri glared at the map, waiting for the message that could possibly... just maybe… change everything.
"'Bite dust, you scum raider,'" Snipp announced.
A jolt of anger shot into Asteri, and she ripped a chunk of rock from the ground in rage and swung it at the map.
The rock tore through the map and bumped across the ground, crumbling at the impact.
"They thought I was joking," Asteri murmured, carving lines into the cavern floor with her serrated talons.
"Indeed, Dearest," Snipp replied in the monotone voice, still looking into something beyond Asteri.
Asteri shot a death glance at Snipp and growled again. "I've grown tired of warning the dragons... Now... Now is not the time to taunt."
She clawed the map down and began to move down a passage that had been concealed by the parchment, darkness enveloping her body. "Now they will all suffer," she rasped.
