“Just a park farther away so I’m not looking at the same scenery whenever I walk,” Vasilka said. “Preferably with a forest. Nothing more than that.”
...
“It could be a sign of change, or it could be an elaborate plan to still achieve her goal,” Datir maintained. “We can’t tell without observation, but we need time to make observation, and time might be something we don’t have.”

"Ok. Be careful though. Times may be different, but criminals remain even in this era." Julia warned. She knew Vasilka probably already could have guessed, but thought she should warn her anyway.
"What do you suggest then sir?" Rysieran asked as Robert left the house awhile. Rysieran didn't know what was the best plan currently.

Julia’s prediction was correct, because Vasilka simply waved her hand dismissively. “Yes, yes, I know. I’ll be careful.”
...
“If we can find a way to productively learn what she plans to do, that would be preferable,” Datir said. “Other than that, I’m not sure what our options are.”

Julia nods and after breakfast left for work...
"We could try to convince her friend to tell us things. Or spy on her?" Rysieran asked.

Vasilka got up and left the house to begin her walk, carrying with her a bag containing her mother’s spellbook and some snacks.
...
“Forcing an answer can result in lies, and I’m not fond of spying on people—even for a just cause,” Datir said, sighing. “But I’ll let you chose between the two. Which do you think would be more productive?”

Julia was working all day. But at least Vasilka had time to rest and think about what to do next or learn about the world. Despite the technology. And Datir
Rysieran sighed. His sense of honor was certainly confusing at best... and at worst hurtful to their mission.

Vasilka enjoyed the time alone. After she walked around the park twice, she headed back to Julia’s house.
...
Datir was aware that it wasn’t preferable. But to him, the first was at least reasonable—when people were pressed for details, it was possible for them to lie instead of tell the truth. Still, though, he wanted Rysieran to chose. He was the one with the resources to do both, after all.

Julia was home after awhile. She already making dinner for them both.
"Very well. We will wait and observe for contact evidence that she may be up to something." He said. He tapped the floor but was unsure about what to do in the meantime. If they were unable to keep an eye on her he was not sure what best to do about Vasilka.

Vasilka sat down on the couch to watch TV until Julia finished dinner.
...
Datir nodded. “Would it be all right if I walk around town? I want to visit the castle—or what remains of the castle, at least.”

Julia soon served her. "How was your day?" She asked curiously. She looked at her wondering if she did anything today.
"If you think it safe. Do you want me to follow sir?" Rysieran asked him.
