Elio grinned and accepted the bag. "Will do." He said, before turning to see his brother properly.

"Alede should be ready to go home by now too, so we can grab him while we wait on your arm." He said aloud, not at all perturbed by the sight of his brother missing an arm as he walked over.

He draped a wing over Somnus in a hug, careful of the broken part.

"Meiyan's been kicking up a fuss over it too, saying she misses her best friend. You know how she gets, and Warren says he sees you in passing whenever he drops by on escort duty. How's Koga been? Kuroka wanted me to give him a message, but I told her he's probably on a mission or something like she was, not to mention she could have just asked Lily to deliver a letter-" He continued, talking enough for the both of them as they headed for the medic wing.

“Safe travels!” Candra called after them, waving a talon before shutting the door to the archives.

Somnus was happy to listen to his younger brother yammer on and on. With how long they go without seeing one another, his constant chatter was less irritating and more comforting. The only thing that had really changed about Elio was that the smell of smoke and soot clung to him rather than the scent of electricity.

He gave his younger brother a soft smile, offering a thumbs-up with his severed arm when questioned about Koga’s wellbeing. He waved his tail, knowing that Elio could see it.

“Koga’s actually training with Ryokucha and the rest of his unit. I don’t think the general would mind if he were stolen for a little bit.” He offered, smiling once more as they turned into the medical wing.

Ballade was there, treating an Imperial who seemed to have burn wounds(?) on her talons and arms.

“You really must be more careful when experimenting with your chemicals, Toxin, sweetheart. Hydrochloric acid burns are no laughing matter.” Ballade admonished the larger dragon gently. Strychnine gave the smaller dragon a look that made her seem like a kicked puppy.

“Yes, Ms. Ballade.” She murmured lowly. The pearly Skydancer hummed in approval and pat the Imperial’s leg gently. The alchemist got up with a quiet ‘thanks’ and limped out, face burning in embarrassment and shame.

"True, Koga's always been pretty sneaky. I think he and Kuroka are similar that way." He hummed cheerfully, eyes blinking in sync.

"Hi, Ballade, Somnus' arm broke off again, mind reattaching it? We also came to take Alede home." Elio said as they entered the wing, careful not to be too loud so she didn't startle.

"Already? Has Lino been kicking up a fuss again? I've told him several times, I can take care of myself just fine." An annoyed voice groaned, Alede standing up from where he'd been having a cup of tea.

He adjusted his glasses, mostly for appearance, and cautiously made his way over to the brothers.

“I don’t mind at all. Somnus, if you would have a seat please.” Ballade gestured to the space in front of her. The drake nodded, making sure his remaining talons clicked audibly as he made his way over and sat down. He removed his arm from his beak and pressed it into the healer’s awaiting talons.

“He’s just looking out for you, sweetheart. He means well.” Ballade chuckled at her grandson’s annoyance, wrapping Somnus’ arm in special cloth she’d had enchanted specifically for him. She sighed. It’s a shame most of her children and grandchildren had inherited her poor eyesight. She’d hoped one would’ve become an adventurer or a messenger like her husband, along with his exception vision.

The healer shook the thought away. No matter. She settled for chanting a small incantation that caused the cloth around Somnus’ arm to glow and she held the pieces together steadily. When she finished and removed the cloth, his arm was reattached. Somnus nudged her underneath her chin with his beak in a ‘thank you’.

“It’s not a problem, Somnus. You’re welcome here any time.” She smiled, patting his cheek in the same manner a grandmother would. Ballade turned to the other two drakes. “And that goes for you two as well. There’s always a place for you here. Alede, I would hope your parents and siblings would join us next time you visit.” She chuckled that last part.

Alede sighed while Elio gave him an amused look, sitting where he stood.

"True, but they worry too much. At least Meiyan doesn't fuss, but she's usually off travelling or at the Coliseum." He said, tail tapping the ground.

"Meiyan doesn't really like staying in one place... Probably why you've never met her, Ballade. She ended up a perfect mix of Kage and Amari, all gray with a hint of green in her tertiary." Elio said, flicking his tail.

"She's two weeks and already can bench press Aeluin. Seems she poured her skills into strength." Alede added, brushing a wing against his grandmother.

"I'll try to get her to join next time, Mom was saying that a trip was definitely needed soon." He finished.

"We should go find Koga now, Kuroka will have my tail if I don't give him her message." Elio said brightly, tucking his hurt, though less throbby, wing tighter against his side and heading briskly out the door.

“Alright. Safe travels, you three.” Ballade nodded, extending her wing to brush against Alede affectionately. Somnus tapped out a goodbye and followed his younger brother. He wound around him to lead their little group to the Training Grounds.

Outside, shielded from the sun’s blare by the Canyon’s walls, were said grounds. An old, scarred Nocturne sat upon a ledge, keeping a watchful eye on things. Koga was in the midst of sparring with Vera, a young and spirited seek-and-destroy dragon.

He wasn’t faring well against the Spiral. With every swipe of his talons she would duck easily out of the way, going as far as to taunt him by hitting his armored head with her tail. It all came quickly to an end when she tripped him up with her long body. As he fell to the ground, she was quick to pounce on him. Her talons wrapped around his throat for a couple moments before she backed off, pulling him up in the process.

“Being a field medic isn’t just healing the fallen, Koga. It’s knowing how to defend your patients, too!” Hummingbird shouted from her perch, flicking her tail. “Dismissed.”

Koga sighed, though he gave Vera a smile when she bumped his shoulder with hers, grinning. He caught the trio’s eye and waved them over. The Spiral waved happily and left the Skydancer to speak with his friends.

Elio hummed, watching the training. Tsubaki and Nixi were the main warriors of the clan, so he'd learned how to defend himself with them, but he'd never really seen a Spiral before and so was quite interested in how it went.

He snickered a little when Koga was tripped up, tail flicking amusedly.

"Dude, instead of hitting where she's at, watch where she's going and hit there. You keep looking at where she's at but not compensating for her speed, and that's why you keep losing." Elio said cheerfully as his friend approached.

"Figures, the guy with the multiple eyes is the one telling you to watch ahead. Not everyone can See, Elio." Alede sighed.

"He doesn't need to, he just needs to predict stuff." Elio shrugged.

“Okay.” Koga’s feathers puffed up indignantly. Regardless, he nodded at the advice, storing it for later. Then he perked up a bit, looking around at the other warriors in his unit before asking the three before him, “What brings you guys here?”

Somnus gestures towards Elio in a silent answer, prompting the other to turn his gaze to said Skydancer expectantly, curiosity written all over his face.

Elio grinned.

"Kuroka gave me a message for you. She said, and I quote, 'Hey lil bro, how ya been? I would have come in person, but I'm busy with scouting lately, so I'll just make Elio do it. Anyways, come visit and bring Xavier with you, Mom and Dad do miss you, and now that we're in the Molten Scar, it's kinda hard to come see you. You better visit or I'm sneaking over there to prank you.'" He quoted, amusement written all over his face.

"You know how she gets with pranks... nobody sees her until it's too late. Just last week she got me by moving everything in my room to the opposite of where it was." Alede groaned, eyes flicking up as if to invoke pity.

Elio snickered, remembering that. Alede had been so confused, and it had taken three of them to move everything back.

Koga didn’t like the sound of being on the receiving end of one of Kuroka’s pranks. “I can definitely visit!” He smiled, making to lead the other three away from the grounds. Hummingbird cleared her throat from above.

“Can you, Koga?” She raised a scarred brow, her light pink eyes boring into the four Skydancers. Somnus looked away from the Nocturne as Koga straightened up into attention, his form rigid.

“I-If that’s oka- I mean, may I visit my family, General?” He called up to her, voice wavering slightly. The old warrior’s eyes narrowed in thought. Then she sighed.

“You are henceforth omitted from your duties until you return.” She waved a talon dismissively. Koga stammered a quick ‘thank you ma’am’ before turning tail and scurrying away, leaving a laughing Somnus to catch up with the other two.
