"I'm not incompetent, I'm just... A bad driver and you kept listing numbers and I've never even been to a city before, so it's not all that surprising I'm not entirely focused," the man admitted, feeling a little offended. At least he knew his own flaws. "And I volunteered. Poor Jamie needs to be taken out every now and then, or he gets bored. It seemed like a good opportunity." He petted the creature sadly, as if to accuse his own gang of mistreating the thing, though it still wasn't clear what it was or how the man had got it. "Have you got any nice questions, now? I'm not insulting you, after all."
~ ~ ~
She laughed again at his consideration, but her face soon fell. "Don't say that. I notice whenever anyone leaves," she scolded. "I'll notice, even if you don't think I will. It's my job." She sighed wistfully. "Oh, Jamie must be having the best time, then! It must have a wonderful view!"
The door opened, and she stood up to see who it was. The boy entered in, looking relieved to see Zadkiel there. "I was coming to look for you. I realised I never actually told you my name. I'm Matthew, by the way. I don't like nicknames, for the record. You aren't vegetarian or anything, are you? It's okay if you are, I'll just have to tell the cooks first."

Jaxen glared toward Adrian, shoving the boy rather harshly toward the elevator, "We're trying to be civil, Adrian, why can't you go 5 minutes without trying to pick a fight?"
The boy stumbled as he shot a playful glare toward Jaxen, "Says the one as he pushes me."
"I'm going to f-"
"Jaxen! Adrian!" came a booming voice as an angry looking man moved toward them. He was build like a tank with dark skin and an even darker aura. The two boys shot up as straight as a board. He was the only other person in the world aside from their father, who could put the fear of god into them.
"Yes, John?" Jaxen spoke timidly.
John cast a dark glare to the stranger beside the brothers before speaking, "Your father wants you in his study, ASAP."
Adrian nodded, "Yes, sir."

Zadkiel pressed his knuckles to his lips briefly before opening his mouth to speak, however the door opened revealing the boy. The Nephilim closed his mouth again, sitting upright as Matthew addressed him, nodding slightly before answering the question, "No, anything is fine."

The man watched them with fight with some indifference. He carried on petting his creature as John arrived, sniggering a little in amusement at how their entire aura changed at the man's presence, though he tried to hide it. "Hey," he waved calmly. "I’m their stalker, don’t mind me." He tried grinning his most disarming smile once again. It seemed he’d be sent because he had a naturally calm aura.

"Good. Then we’re having lamb shank and vegetables," Matthew said calmly. He said little more before Aries came in. "That’s my seat," he said coldly. "It’s fine, just sit in Jamie’s seat," Matthew dismissed. Aries wasn’t so sure, and sat down, shifting uncomfortably and grumbling to himself as the food was brought out.

John glared toward the man again, "I wouldn't joke about that 'round here if I were you," he growled with a threatening tone, "You may be joking, but not everything takes that crap so lightly, especially when these two are involved."
Jaxen cast a glance toward Jamie, then toward John, "He's from the new alliance," he stated after a moment, "It's fi-"
"No, it ain't fine, Jax," he hissed with a slightly calmer tone, "You two, come... now. Vera can tend to him until you're done."
Jaxen was about to protest further, but he knew better than to argue with John, especially when the man was acting on his father's orders. Adrian glanced toward Jamie, "Vera is our sister, she's about the same age as your kid boss."
With that, the two brothers followed behind John. A girl who seemed to materialize out of no where smiled sweetly toward him, "Can I pet you're creature?"
~~~
Zadkiel looked toward Aries, then to Matthew, then back to the woman he was having a brief conversation with. His deep blue gaze turned downward to the plate of food as it was placed before him. He muttered a soft 'thank you're as his gaze trailed upward again. He felt... awkward. This was a new feeling as he'd always been good at keeping his emotions and feelings in check. However right now, he just couldn't quiet keep his full composure. He fidgeted slightly with his hands, glancing up every once in a while.
Jamie didn’t seem one bit bothered by what John was saying. "You got it, mate," he agreed cheerily. Although his words seemed sarcastic, his tone certainly wasn’t. His pet growled in annoyance at it. They both edged back as a girl arrived out of nowhere. "Um... sure. Here, you can hold him." He wasn’t normally asked that, and didn’t entirely look happy about handing the creature over. It had no complaints, settling comfortably in her arms. It was cold to the touch, and rubbery, but it also somehow seemed soft and calming. "Your friend John is a bit of a grump, isn’t he? We have one of those types, but he’s short and annoying instead."
~ ~ ~
Nobody seemed to notice and shared their day with each other. At least, Matthew and the girl did. Based off of the conversation, the young woman appeared to be a healer of some sort, since she had spent most of her day gathering herbs and mentioned that someone had twisted their ankle earlier that day falling down the stairs. Aries kept his gaze on Zadkiel, not caring that that probably made him more uncomfortable. "Is the food alright?" Matthew asked after a while.
Vera beamed happily, "Aww, you're just a big sweet cutie, huh?" she cooed as she cuddled the creature closer to herself. Her hazel eyes then shifted toward the man, smile still present on her face, "It's his job, he's the head of security," she state factually, "So, who are you? My brothers are not really known for their social lives, so... you're not a friend are you." She scratched the creature mindlessly as she eyed Jamie curiously.
~~~
The Nephilim inhaled a breath locking eyes with Aries for a brief moment before turning to Matthew, "Yes, it's fine. I just... don't need to eat that much, truth be told," he answered honestly with a soft laugh tacked on, "I apologize."

It happily curled around her, almost like it was giving her a hug. "Um... I’m Jamie." He considered how to explain himself, since he didn’t know how much Vera knew about her family’s profession. "Well, I’m, err, my boss sent me. He wanted me to make sure your brothers and dad got home safe. And, well, I think I’ve done that well enough. They’re still alive."
~ ~ ~
""Um... that’s okay," Matthew decided. "So, our plans for tomorrow?" he asked the others. "Well, your father will be back tomorrow, you’ll need to introduce him to your guest," Aries said dryly. "I still need to tell Aaron he can’t have a dog. Maybe Jamie will find him a nice, trained dog so he’ll stop bringing in strays," the girl considered. "What about you?" Matty asked Zadkiel.

Vera listened with a quirked brow, she looked much like a young female version of Adrian, just less rough around the edges. She eventually hummed with a thoughtful tone, "So you're from that alliance Papa was talking about," she said nodding her head slowly, "You don't need to be shy, I'm not clueless."
The girl cooed a but more to the creature before asking Jamie more questions, "So, you planning on staying here or are you going back tonight? We have rooms if you don't want to drive in the dark. I hate night driving myself."
~~~
Zadkiel arched a brow, "Well, I have business in Moscow, shouldn't be gone but a few hours, otherwise... I'm just here, I suppose," he spoke casually as he took a bite of food, not paying much attention to expressions until he glanced up, "Oh, and yes... I mean the city in Russia." He turned his attention to Aries, who forever seemed to glare daggers toward the Nephilim, "Perhaps you'd like to join me, an outing might do you some good."
"Yeah. Yeah, exactly," Jamie agreed. "I was asked to follow them quietly, but I’m not very good at staying hidden," he admitted. His pet happily responded to her coping, growing a tail and wagging it excitedly. "I’m not sure. I think it will depend on how warmly your father greets me. I guess... the driving doesn’t bother me all that much. I’ll probably do better at night, less people around."
~ ~ ~
Matthew’s expression wasn’t too surprised, but the woman’s was. Aries stayed with his gaze on the man and his expression stony. "That’s going to take a little longer than a few hours," she eventually said unsurely. As the offer was extended to him, Aries spat, "That sounds-"
He was interrupted by Matthew. "Interesting. I’m sure Aries appreciates that offer, maybe he can pick up some Russian while he’s there."
"I already speak it, thank you very much," Aries snapped. "I reject your invitation, it’s only an attempt to taunt me."
"Papa knows you're here, I'm sure that's why he called Jax and Addy to his office," she said with a smile, "Since we have time to kill, would you like a tour?"
...
"Is he staying here?" Sal asked the brothers as he flipped through some paperwork on his desk, the man didn't make eye contact as he worked.
Jaxen spoke up in reply, "We're not sure what his plans are, John dragged us away before we had a chance to delve too deep into conversation."
Sal hummed, "Well, find out... what is he doing now?"
"Vera is talking to him," Adrian said.
Sal's gaze shifted upward briefly but his attention didn't diverge for long, "Let's see how she handles him for a while, but keep an eye on them."
The boys nodded and in unison replied with a soft, "Yes, sir."
~~~
Zadkiel cleared his throat, "On the contrary, Aries," he said sincerely, "You said you preferred action over spoken words, this is me offering to prove that I'm not just full of hot air... that I am who and what I claim to be. You can bring anyone or anything along with you if it makes you feel better."
