The Voidgazer

There is a balance in Sorneith that needs to be maintained. All elements have their opposite except for one. Dragons close to or in contact with the deities have noticed that they have become somewhat... absent. Especially the Arcanist. He seems to have gone completely missing, no one is sure where he even could have gone. Either way, that's only one cause for concern.

A group of scouts had discovered something a while ago, but it has been kept heavily a secret. Until now. They found an uncharted island, or rather, an uncharted continent. However, this continent has completely different magic, or rather a lack of, than that of any of the others in Sorneith. The scouts are curious, but they are unable to explore this continent by themselves, so they've contacted you.

(I suppose I'll kick us off, then... HEALER ON SITE!)

The warm summer air was filled with the scent of adventure... and water, but mostly ADVENTURE. Lesser giggled, her feathered wings ruffling as she caught another updraft over the sand dunes along the beach. She spiraled through the air, flitting and flickering from air-current to air-current, trying her best to keep on track. This particular stretch of beach was wholy unfamiliar to the Nature clan dragoness, as, well, the Verdant Labyrinth did not really have beaches. Swamps, yes, but beaches? Surely not.

She chuckled to herself, as she flipped over in the air, sailing on her back, folding her forelegs across her chest and closing her eyes, letting the wind catch the upper side of her wings, and slowly starting into a descent, rolling as the ground came within reach of her legs and landing with a 'Hup' to jog along the soft sand and soil.

"I wonder if we're the first to get here...." she murmurs softly. "If so, I'm scoping out the medical wing right off the bat and getting set up. What about you, Moro?"

It had taken Faux a few weeks to get to the meeting place, do to his lack of flight, and the gaoler was glad that the trip was almost over. His large, shaggy shape plodded across the hot dunes, his gate becoming faster as his destination drew quicker. Faux mumbled to himself as he moved, annoyed by sun, whose normally pleasent rays were practically cooking the heavily furred dragon alive.

When a huge span of blue breached the horizon, Faux started running, glad to have finally reached the ocean. The gaoler hit the west sand running, crashing into the large wave that had just hit the beach. The water was cold, but the furred dragon welcomed it, soaked to the skin with salt water. After he felt that he was sufficiently cooled off, Faux turned to look at the beach, searching for any dragons he might have missed while sprinting for the surf.

She carried the message in a leather satchel she carried, and as the waves splashed up against the shore she paused, pulling out the letter and scanning it again. The ocean wind ruffled the feathers and petals she wore, a testament to her latest wandering in the Viridian Labyrinth. Wherever she traveled, she liked to take up mantles to match her surroundings. As for this upcoming venture--well, she'd decided to keep her feathers and lilies. Who knew what would be found out there, beyond the borders of the world? The idea sent a thrill through her--though being crammed on a ship with a bunch of unfamiliar dragons wasn't ideal, the chance at exploration and discovery and seeing something no one else had ever seen before...it was worth it. Buuut, even if she didn't get along with anyone, it was alright. She was used to it. Though she was really very small for an Imperial, she could hold her own in a fight and, truth be told, she enjoyed a good tussle now and then. Mismar & Aurene

The Skydancer landed on the beach twitching a little when the sand touched the metal talons he used to contain his unstable magic. Beside him emerging from the greenery on to the shore-line was a small gaoler. "This is the place? Right?" Aurene asked looking to the clan's diplomat. Mismar merely rolled his shoulders in a shrug and tucked his wings close. Dragons had begun gathering at an alarming rate but he was eager.

The salty seaspray was whipped into the air by the soft wind that rolled off of the ocean. Civit's tail twitched in anticipation as she awaited the arrival of other dragons. She couldn't wait to meet the others and spend time with them. Who knows what would happen on that island of unknown wonders? Civit sighed and rested her claws on the rail of the ship's deck, she was also sort of nervous. What if someone got seriously injured...? But then again, Kritanta chose those healers for a reason. Civit shivered and looked behind her.

"Oh! Someone's here!" she exclaimed upon seeing an Imperial appear. She licked her snout and leaped over to the other side of the deck. Upon leaning over the edge of the ship she noticed two Skydancers and two Gaolers. Her bright yellow eyes lit up with excitement and she beckoned them all over. "Hello, all!! I'm Civit, one of the crew members of the ship! Hop on board and I'll let you know your roles," she chirped and bounded over the cork board on deck. She took out a piece of paper from her satchels and scanned it over, mumbling to herself.

As the dragons boarded the dock she clucked her tongue. She pointed to the red and purple Skydancer and smiled. "You're Lesser Healing Potion, correct?" she said and tipped her head to the side. She then looked to the Imperial and thumped her tail on the wood. "Aaand if I'm not mistaken you are... Allaiyn?" she said and turned to one of the Gaolers. "Faux, right?" she chirped, nodding to the copper-colored dragon. She then ran up to the other Gaoler and Skydancer and glanced at her list. "Aurene and Mismar? Nono wait... okay yeah that's my final answer. Did I get everyone's name correct?" she asked, scanning the small number of dragons that had collected. "Also, there will be quite a few more dragons joining us. And then you guys and gals can meet the rest of the crew!" she chittered.

shhhhhhhhhaTHWUM... Long claws leave trails in the sand, precursors to the heavy thud of each step. All the while long fur drag and distort the prints left by the heavy beast. shhhhhhhhhaTHUBUM. His steps found themselves at last on sturdy wood. Brilliant, pale blue eyes turn from the ground at which each step had been mindlessly calculated, shielded from the sun under a faded blonde mane that hung like soft spun silken strands, to the crowd gathering about ready to board the ship. An impressive vessel, of course, he could only guess had influences of the Arcane and Lightning flights, perhaps even a touch of Nature and wind to bind it all together and make it worthy of travel. Grand in scale; able to comfortably house a crew of such diverse size from the largest Imperials to the smallest Fae.

His alabaster coat was a blessing in its own right, keeping the heat from getting to him, the thick coat doubling in insulation for both hot and cool weather-- though the heat and sand were no strangers to him. He ease his weight as he ascend the dock to join the gathering, hopeful that he was indeed in the right place. The hardened carapace that line his spine and cap his shoulders only very subtly clack as each plate flex and shift with his movements. Slowly he ease himself onto his haunches, waiting patently as the seemingly excitable spiral go about some sort of 'role call'.

In truth, it was by luck that he was called to join this seeming motley crew of dragons. Requested by name for having been so... well, adept at fighting off wild beasts of any size. At last Scare's tired eyes turn to each of the beings he would have to share the confines of the ship with-- A curious skydancer who glimmer like a ruby from what wasn't covered in robes. Another who seemed almost visibly charged and reminiscent of his homeland. Another pale-hide Gaoler? Curious, but not unheard of... An imperial who's dark hide contrast in an odd, yet not visibly unpleasant way against their peculiar choice of adornments, and a third Gaoler of earthen and sky-hues. He seemed to lean away from his own kind, tucking his small wings in close to his body, they all but disappear against his coat.

Already he was scanning his eyes over the ship, sorting out the paths he'd take to and from each end as to avoid being in the way or otherwise being too close to others. Without the gift of flight, he was a bit uneasy of being so... confined.

I am the lucid dream...
...The monster in your nightmares...
...The fiend of a thousand faces.
Taking wing, the ruby and amethyst skydancer coasted upward, and onto the deck of the ship, claws clicking softly on wood as she looked about, before being addressed. "You may, of course, call me LHP, or Lesser, if you'd prefer... my name is a bit of a joke... that has followed on through the generations." she chortles, waving a clawed forepaw. "I would best like to know where the medical wing is, so I might get set up forthwith. I've quite a bit of ingredients and the like to unpack and set to growing properly... and then, if you would, I'd like to see everyone as soon as livingly possible, so that I might get a baseline of what to expect from the crew, just in case of something like sickness or injury." Despite her previous extreme excitement, Lesser calmed right down when it came to things like work. Healing was her passion, her very point in being.

Not to mention she was good at it.

She shifted about, craning her neck as she gazed around herself. "I hope it's large, with vaulted ceilings, at this point. So many large dragons... And here I was hoping that Morozck would be the largest I'd have to deal with... Ah well... It might be pleasant to have more than one dragon who can reach the top shelf without flying."
