Rhydian snapped his gaze to the new person, pointing the gun in between them both so that he could move it easily. His eyes flicked between them as he started to walk out, this time through the front door so that he could go back and not have to think about this again.

Hermes still didn't understand the danger at all. He thought it was Livius's friend playing with his brother's gun. "You shouldn't play with Jet's guns. He said they're dangerous." But weren't his brother's guns white? "He's going to be mad that you painted it."

Rhydian paused at that. Did he say guns? He turned around to look at Hermes. "Where are they?" he whispered in an attempt to mask his accent.

Hermes pointed at the one in Rhydian's hand, still convinced it was his brother's just painted. "He's confused. My father doesn't own any guns." Livius said, desperate to get the intruder to leave.

Rhydian didn’t believe Livius at all, and pointed the gun at him. This was going badly. One of them could get the gun, and once he turned his head around he’d get shot... and they’d realise that he couldn’t die... "Where?" he demanded louder.

"Father doesn't have any guns." Livius insisted. He was on the brink of tears, thinking Rhydian was going to shoot him. "You're holding one." Hermes insisted. "The other one is... Well, whichever one you didn't take. Did you take the bedroom one or the car one?"

Rhydian understood why Livius was lying. He just didn’t like it. Garage. Bedroom. Both too far away. He pulled his phone out of his pocket. "Come pick me up," he murmured through it, hanging up and standing on it. He didn’t need to destroy the device itself, just it’s memory card. "Stop crying," he ordered softly before going up the stairs. Maybe there’s be something in the bedroom, and he would be able to get rid of a gun at the same time.

Livius couldn't stop crying. He was too scared. Hermes decided to abandon his snack to comfort his nephew. He went upstairs to go get a teddy to offer Livius, which made it look like he was following the stranger.

Rhydian noticed Hermes was following him, so he walked backwards, slowly opening each door until he found a room that looked like it belonged to an adult and entered in. He wanted to go home too, but he knew the consequences if he abandoned his duty.

Hermes giggled. "You walk funny." He went to his own room, marked with his name in shiny sticker letters, along with other stickers the man thought were pretty and had stuck there.

The master bedroom was very fancy, as was expected of the house. There wasn't much incriminating. Some private women's things where in one bedside drawer, and the other belonged to the man, and also had a white pistol and a bottle of vodka among his undergarments.
