Even though they lived in the same city, in the same apartment, Rhydian felt like he and Aries came from very different worlds. At least, that's how he felt today, when Aries was fastening his tie and muttering, "I hate you." Very loving words from a roommate.

Rhydian knew their priorities were different. Aries wanted to work and forget everything that happened to him as a child, and Rhydian wanted to go back to those times and mess about. Neither of their families would let them do those things. His uncle, Maurice, had called him up in the middle of the night and told him to buy a set of clothes. He'd even mailed some cash to buy a new outfit to burn afterwards, so Rhydian knew it was important. In fact, it was so important Maurice was worried Rhydian might mess it up. Rhydian wasn't really surprised considering his track record.

He pocketed his gun and watched Aries' lips frown in disapproval. "I don't know how dangerous these people are," Rhydian defended. "Then maybe don't break into their house," his roommate replied with a dry monotone. They both knew it just wasn't that simple.

A car horn bleared outside impatiently. Rhydian brushed his blond, messy hair the neatest he could before rushing out of the apartment. Hopefully wherever he was going he'd fit perfectly. Not that Rhydian really fit anywhere perfectly. But when they pulled onto a road with a bunch of pristine, large houses, Rhydian knew he was going to stick out like a sore thumb. What does uncle want to know about some rich guy? I didn't hear about business being interrupted. Rhydian had no idea what it was about, but he was going to find some dirt anyway. Knowing his family, it was probably to blackmail someone. Rhydian just hoped that this time they deserved it.

Unfortunately, these concerns had to go unvoiced, as he was practically kicked out of the car and it screeched away. He walked up to the house and began to inspect for cameras before kicking in one of the back windows and slipping inside.

The Aeneas family lived in a very large, fancy house, with a sprawling yard and an in ground pool. Such a fancy house had a fancy security system to match, but when the alarm went off, Livius shut it off immediately, assuming Sean had just tripped it on accident trying to pay him a surprise visit. He headed upstairs, expecting to find his friend waiting for him.

Unfortunately for Livius, Rhydian wasn't his friend. He was his enemy. The vampire looked around, slipping on a pair of gloves to look through the drawers and at the photo frames. It looked like this was a family home. Rhydian thought that was amusing at best. He realised that the speed of the alarm being turned off meant he wasn't alone, so he tried to walk silently.

Livius was confused when he didn't find Sean sitting in his bedroom. Then what triggered the alarm? He realised it must be an intruder, and got scared. His parents weren't home, and thankfully neither were the children. Just him, his brother, and his uncle. He still had to protect them, so he grabbed his cricket bat and went looking.

Rhydian was pulling apart the drawers. There were some expensive things, but he wasn't here to steal. He wasn't some petty criminal. The vampire was looking for something incriminating. He wasn't finding it. He heard someone walking around, but refused to stop what he was doing.

Livius came across the stranger. He didn't look very dangerous, but he had broken in, so Livius was still scared. "Th-the safe is over there. Ten-o-three. Take what you want and get out." Livius tried not to sound as scared as he was, but his voice was shaking, and it was obvious.

The gun was raised before Rhydian had even registered who he was talking to. He narrowed his red eyes, using the weapon to beckon to the corner. If this guy was smart, though Rhydian sincerely doubted it, he would do as he was told. But nobody ever did. If he spoke he'd reveal his voice. There were a lot of blond guys around, but few had red eyes, and fewer still had his accent. With his gaze on this new person, Rhydian stepped backwards towards the safe. He realised some safes had camera systems, so he pulled his hood right over his head and kept his head down and face hidden while he unlocked it to see what was inside.

The gun scared Livius the most, so he went into the corner, still shaking and holding his bat. Inside the safe was some money in several different countries currencies, though most of it was in pounds. There were also the family's documents, birth certificates, death certificates, marriage license, and the like. And of course there were the valuable family heirlooms, grandparents and great-grandparents wedding rings and other expensive old jewelry.

Rhydian looked at what was in the safe. It was kind of dull. He couldn’t pay attention to the money, even though it would be good, and the heirlooms. He decided to take the documents, though they looked kind of boring to him. Maybe they’d have something incriminating in them. He shut the safe and pointed the gun at Livius before putting his fingers to his lips.

Livius nodded. He planned to tell anyway, but if he didn't agree he could be shot, and he didn't want that, so he'd stay quiet at least until the man with the gun was gone. His uncle Hermes decided to come downstairs for a snack, and didn't really understand the situation. He thought the stranger must be Livius's friend. "Jet's going to be mad. You aren't supposed to have friends over when he's not home." he warned. Livius winced at his uncle coming down. He didn't want him upsetting the man with the gun and getting shot.
