Please don't be scared by the length, I've never been good at starters so I always ramble a little bit first.))
Even though they lived in the same city, in the same apartment, Rhydian felt like he and Aries came from very different worlds. At least, that's how he felt today, when Aries was fastening his tie and muttering, "I hate you." Very loving words from a roommate.
Rhydian knew their priorities were different. Aries wanted to work and forget everything that happened to him as a child, and Rhydian wanted to go back to those times and mess about. Neither of their families would let them do those things. His uncle, Maurice, had called him up in the middle of the night and told him to buy a set of clothes. He'd even mailed some cash to buy a new outfit to burn afterwards, so Rhydian knew it was important. In fact, it was so important Maurice was worried Rhydian might mess it up. Rhydian wasn't really surprised considering his track record.
He pocketed his gun and watched Aries' lips frown in disapproval. "I don't know how dangerous these people are," Rhydian defended. "Then maybe don't break into their house," his roommate replied with a dry monotone. They both knew it just wasn't that simple.
A car horn bleared outside impatiently. Rhydian brushed his blond, messy hair the neatest he could before rushing out of the apartment. Hopefully wherever he was going he'd fit perfectly. Not that Rhydian really fit anywhere perfectly. But when they pulled onto a road with a bunch of pristine, large houses, Rhydian knew he was going to stick out like a sore thumb. What does uncle want to know about some rich guy? I didn't hear about business being interrupted. Rhydian had no idea what it was about, but he was going to find some dirt anyway. Knowing his family, it was probably to blackmail someone. Rhydian just hoped that this time they deserved it.
Unfortunately, these concerns had to go unvoiced, as he was practically kicked out of the car and it screeched away. He walked up to the house and began to inspect for cameras before kicking in one of the back windows and slipping inside.
