"Your father is a mad man." Sean retorted. "And, you really shouldn't be talking so easily about committing crimes, they're supposed to be kept secret." He shifted around to lay on his stomach, and not face the crazy forest man.

"Your father is a mad man." Sean retorted. "And, you really shouldn't be talking so easily about committing crimes, they're supposed to be kept secret." He shifted around to lay on his stomach, and not face the crazy forest man.
"You're a madman," he snapped back. "You're the one who started this conversation. Though I do like secrets." Even when Sean moved away from his view he continued to sit still, wondering about this extremely confusing human.

Sean tried to ignore Oliver and get some sleep, but after getting used to a bed, it was hard to go back to sleeping in a tree. After shifting around a bit, he gave up and untied himself. He climbed back down the tree. Perhaps he could find some chamomile or valerian to help him sleep. Even if not, walking around a bit might tire him out enough to sleep. Now which way did he not want me to go again? East. I wonder what is East of here. Sean decided that would be the best direction to take his walk, keeping an eye out for the little flowers.

Oliver tried to sleep where he was, beginning to doze off when the noise of someone getting down the tree. It took him a minute to realise that the sound was Sean, who was beginning to walk in the direction that he had asked him not to. "Hey! What are you doing?" He scrambled down quickly, following after him. There was no way he was letting anybody find their home. Well, they'd only find it if they looked up, anyways. "Didn't I mention that you can't go east? This way is east!"

Sean had thought Oliver had fallen asleep, and wasn't expecting to be caught. He stared at the ground sheepishly. "Uh, yeah.... I thought you were asleep. Guess I was wrong." He looked up at Oliver with his best disarming smile.

"I was asleep, but you woke me up," Oliver said, words scalding. He could not be more annoyed if he tried. "I'd be a rubbish guard if I didn't wake up about stuff." He tried not to be as angry. Sean just had curiosity.

"I didn't know you're a guard. What are you guarding?" Sean asked, genuinely curious. He was sure it was something to do with thinking he owned the forest, rather than a real duty, but mad ramblings would still give him insight on what kind of person Oliver was, even if the answer was a crazy one.

Oliver hesitated. Say too much and Sean would go looking for the house. Say too little and Sean would get suspicious. "The trees?" he suggested. Well, he technically wasn't lying. "Do you think I just sit down, waving knives and telling people where they shouldn't go for no reason?"

Sean stared at him. "The trees. You wave knives in people's faces because you don't want them going in the trees." This man was crazier than Sean thought. "Well, Mister Tree-Guard, I was not looking for more trees, I am looking for flowers, so you have nothing to worry about."

Oliver nodded. "There, that wasn't so confusing." He didn't feel that it was worth making himself look less insane. Humans believed what they wanted to; they blamed crazed people when they couldn't understand the magical. "What sort of flowers are you looking for? I know what flowers grow where." This was perfect. He could direct Sean away from his home while looking perfectly innocent.
