@ZenithNadir that in training level cap sounds fine to me.
TOPIC | Family Ties: Night Warrior Project RP
@ZenithNadir I think the posting level cap should be lowered to Level 10 because that is a good half way mark, a good milestone for Night Warriors in-train.

@Shadari
To Raven,
I hope this brief letter finds you well, and that it arrived in good condition. My clan generally relies on small messenger drones to deliver correspondence to distant flights, but there is supposed to be a storm tonight. Our engineer, Adhafera, is convinced that her prototype is up for handling the flight... If you respond to this message, she would appreciate a brief note on how the metal casing held up to a sandstorm, although I suppose that she will be able to investigate on her own if you send the drone back with your reply.
I am writing to you out of eagerness to open up lines of communication, but also out of curiosity. This afternoon I had a long conversation with my mentor Inkling, a fellow Night Warrior but from a different line of the family. I am interested in training new fighters for my clan once my training is complete, but I confess that I am having some anxiety about what that role might look like. Inkling is capable, but he tends to be set in his ways and he's used to his own methods. I'm hoping that by talking to other Night Warriors in training, I'll be able to learn about how different clans prepare their young dragons for combat and become a better mentor one day.
I'm afraid I have to go ahead and mail this letter before my classes resume - hopefully you will forgive the directness and lack of pleasantries, along with my abominable handwriting.
Sincerely,
Alata

*This letter seems to have some smudges of dirt on it for some reason. It’s also quite large.*
Hi Alata,
Your drone is holding up quite well! It seems like more reliable option then my adopted clan’s preference. The matriarch is apparently obsessed with birds. There are at least three rooms filled with them! It’s rather messed up considering the amount of bird skull attire I find in the treasure rooms. Maybe I should try and convince our resident mechanic to make some mechanical birds…
How this clan prepares their young and how my mentors handle training are pretty different. The clan leader likes to drag others that have recently come of the proper…size requirements I guess? She waits until they are not hatchling sized anyway, then drags them out to the coliseum with one of the other adults. They always come back a bit scratched up, but no worse for wear. She seems to think what doesn’t kill them makes them stronger I guess.
My mentor prefers to put us in small groups and send us into the coliseum. They are very particular about where we train though. Nothing too easy, nothing too tough. Armoureen said something about it being better group cohesion. I was actually in a group with this crazy skydancer named Apogee, and Sobek (another Night Warrior adopted by the clan). Apparently the matriarch really liked Sobek however, and stole him away for her method of training. She took Apogee next. Armoureen is trying to find some new trainees to go with me before the matriarch strikes again. What does Inkling do?
Don’t worry about the directness or anything! Sobek is the king of all those things. Your handwriting is fine! Just a bit small to me. I guess sorry that my letter is so big? It’s hard for me to write small letters. I hope this letter isn’t too big for the drone! I’ve sent some birds along to help, just in case. Don’t worry about them. They’ll just go do whatever it is birds like to do. Or try and preen you.
Sincerely,
Raven

To Raven,
Rest assured that I had no problems reading your letter - while the parchment arrived smudged in some places, the text was perfectly legible. I have just about decided that my concerns over readability were misplaced after all. After speaking with Devara, my clan's head merchant, about how she organizes her trade networks, I learned that drones are capable of flying much greater distances than I had previously realized. A fortunate thing for our family, since we have spread so widely across Sornieth. The bird couriers who arrived with the drone were very friendly. While several of them did make it their personal mission to preen my head feathers when I returned from training, I found the experience pleasant. I sent them back to your clan with my reply, and hope that it reaches you in good shape.
Much of my clan's training strategies are geared toward teaching beginners some rudimentary combat and self-defense skills. Most of the Suncircle's residents are scientists, merchants, and craftsdragons, not warriors. There are even a few members of other notable families in residence, some of whom are refugees... Anyway, the long and short of it is that few of my clanmates are seasoned veterans. Still, the matriarch expects us all to know how to defend ourselves if we are ever attacked. Inkling, my mentor, and an Imperial named Zero are our main trainers; they also teach dragons passing through the area on their way to work at the Tempest Spire, in the name of improving the general strength of the Stormcatcher's employees.
Zero is more talkative than Inkling, and it helps that he's not my direct mentor, so he's answered a lot of the questions I have about the Suncircle's military history. Before we had as many trained fighters as we do now, all of the residents who chose to be warriors received the same kind of training - strength- and speed-enhancing regimens primarily, with little in regard to tactics or strategy. Now, dragons are encouraged to develop more unique fighting styles through trial and error. I've started learning offensive magic, which suits me a lot better than direct combat.
I've also been talking to Corundum, our clan's smith, about getting some better armor. She ignored me at first, because I'm still in training and don't look like much of a fighter (she said my feathers were too soft, which I thought was kind of rude). I think Inkling went and talked to her, though, because a week or so later she gave me the first few pieces of a Battlescale Armor set and scolded me to be more careful while I was on the field. She's an odd one for sure...
Thank you for replying, I look forward to talking with you again soon,
Alata
