(Sounds fine to me! :D)
Mason stepped forwards. Luca darted out of the bushes, and took in the situation in front of her.
"Okay, Luca, this guy is weak to fighting moves! Let's show him your best fighting skill set." He grinned at her, and she flashed her fangs before running straight as Ursaring.
The great bear used slash, but Luca shut her eyes and her form blurred. Double team. The claws sliced right through her hazy form, and she reappeared, a few feet away from where she had started. Ursaring snarled and tried to bite her, but she only fired off a few aura spheres in response. Roaring In pain and anger, Ursaring leapt at her and began slashing repeatedly until it's arms were nothing more than a blur.
Luca dodged the fury swipes attack, but ended up with a small cut right below her eye, which she pressed a paw to for a heartbeat, before leaping up into the air. The laws of her paws glowed with a bronzey color and she came down, hammering Ursaring again and again with Close Combat.
(You decide what happens with Ursaring next. :3 )

Fighting moves.. well at least he knew what typing was. That was a relief. However, what he wasn't expecting was that wild pokemon knew what typings were too. After the Ursaring had taken a singular Close Combat, it shielded its self with protect just long enough to ready another attack. A stomp of its feet and the ground shook beneath them, jutting upwards in several positions as the Ursaring fired off an Earthquake.
Xanthia had not been expecting the creature to know Earthquake and with a flick of her hand, Chitter had grabbed her by her waist and was hanging both of them from a tree, avoiding what she was weak against, and what might hurt her trainer. The Earthquake radiated through Luca and towards Mason, shaking the ground beneath him and jutting up near his feet.
If he was really a good trainer, he would have a way to combat this. He would have to be used to having attacks rebound near him.. either protect himself or not.. and he would have a way to face off against a pokemon move that was super effective.
(earthquake is a physical move btw XD, hence the ground jutting up at them)

Luca, having leapt off the Ursaring's back and into the air, missed the majority of the attack, landing awkwardly and cutting one pawpad on a stone shard.
Mason, however, wasn't so lucky. His pupils went tiny and he gasped as a surge of energy thrilled through him. He was still standing as if the earth wasn't shaking below him, but rather his reaction was more as if the air had left the atmosphere. Then a slab of stone pushed itself up under one of his feet, piercing the worn sole and cutting his foot.
Instantly he was back to normal, and with a yelp, fell over backwards. This managed to cause another earthquake when he landed. Not as strong as the Ursaring's, because he hadn't intended to cause an earthquake, but still. Luca leapt up towards her trainer and snarled at the Ursaring. There was fear in her eyes, but not due to the battle or even Mason's safety. She'd seen that he was mostly fine, just shaken and with a cut foot.
No, this fear was due to the fact that Xanthia had seen. Her Mason couldn't take more verbal abuse and intended physical harm due to his condition. All her fear and anger manifested as she summoned a glowing blue bone, taller even than she was, and rushed the Ursaring with it.

Luca had started by dodging most of the Earthquake.. which meant she had some skill on her own. Though she did land and cut her pawpad, which meant Xanthia would probably have to treat that later... considering the kid looked like he didn't know the difference between an Aspear and an Enigma berry..
She saw mason get hit as well, and then there was a secondary earthquake.. it was like a weaker pokemon had used it. She glanced to both of the pokemon fighting, but found it was from neither of them. Just a coincidence that mason had fallen down at the same time as the quake?
She narrowed her eyes and lowered herself from the tree, Chitter following her, trying to figure out exactly what had happened here.
The fear and anger practically radiated from Luca as she charged Ursaring... and Xanthia decided it was time to act.
"that is enough." A cold, firm tone came from Xanthia.
Chitter reacted, bursting her entire body into flames and inserting herself between the Ursaring and Luca. Flame charge... then her fists burst into concentrated flames, focusing on Luca as her target, if she got hit she was going to retaliate with a nice one two punch of fire. And if the Lucario continued, she would see which one of them was better in a sparring match. She wasn't afraid to use Close Combat while bursting into flames. Which she happened to know Steel types like Lucario would not like. "Inn feerrrn aaape!" She cried, her teeth flashing in a warning.

Luca let out something like a cross between a feline hiss and a wolffish snarl, but immediately after she stopped and her staff disintegrated. What are you going to say? she snapped at Chitter and Xanthia. My brother is not a freak, it is a gift! There was a desperate tone to her voice.
Mason sat up from the epicenter of the smaller quake, rubbing his head. "Ouch..." He then clutched his foot. "Ugh."

The desperation in Luca's voice and the fear in her eyes.. the way she snapped at them and tried to be protective of Mason.. seemed like she was trying to protect him. And Xanthia got all she needed to know from that single action. Luca was protecting him because he was the one who had used that puny version of Earthquake.
She snorted, and then burst into laughter, which sounded oddly like a high pitched Gorebyss cry. her body shaking, she let the laughter carry her for a moment, before sucking in through her nose and stopping, tapping Chitter lightly.
"Ferrn." Chitter looked happy that her trainer was in a good mood, and had perked considerably because of it. She smiled, turning around and speaking with the Ursaring, who was staring at them all in confusion. "Fern.. in.. fer.. nape.." She explained. The Ursaring just shrugged and toddled away, putting a berry-stained paw in his mouth. Then Chitter burst through the trees and off into the distance, the sound of her crackling fire vanished as she did.
"If anyone is a freak in this clearing.. that would be me." She snorted. "What because he has some kind of built in Counter, you think I'm going to try and kill him or something? if i killed everyone i'd met who had some kind of weird power, then half of Sinnoh would be dead."
Chitter appeared moments later, a myriad of berries in her arms.
"Come now.. lets get a look at your feet. Both of you now. I haven't got all day." Xanthia stated, then glanced to Chitter. "Split these." She asked, setting the Aspear berries aside. "I need some marigold.. but you would just light it on fire if you found it." Reluctantly, Xanthia sent out her Leafeon. The Monstrosity stared at her, looking uncomfortable that Infernape was there, but his whiskers twitched happily at the scent of blood.
"Go get some Marigold." there was no threat this time, just an order.
The Monstrosity bore his teeth in a snarl, but after eyeing Chitter he slunk away, shoulders slumped as he practically glared in their direction.
"Well, one thing is for sure, he's going to take his sweet time doing that. Oh well.. that gives us time to chat." Xanthia shrugged, smushing a few berries with a rock and scooping out the insides of the aspear berries to create a rather.. bizzare-looking paste. Chitter was picking up the discarded pieces and slowly putting them near her head, allowing them to dry out and become like that dried fig Xanthia had shared with Mason earlier.

"I could've... Sent out Barb, you know. My Roserade?" He pulled off his shoe and sock, showing he had a nice size gash in his sole. Luca sat next to him, a similar cut on her pink pawpad. Mason sighed.
"I... I don't exactly have Counter," he started. "Rather..... Whatever move is used on me, only a physical move... I sort of gain that ability until I'm hit with another one. So that means I'll be able to use earthquake for a while..." Luca looked at him with sympathy. "People freak out a lot, because to use a lot of moves, I... Mutate."

"Yeah, you can still do that if you like." Sure it was going to be difficult using a human hater in battle, but she had to get him to obey her somehow, and she might as well start small with this.. and work her way up.. otherwise.. she as going to have some serious problems. Well... no matter what the Monstrosity was going to cause her problems. But at least she might try and get him to listen to her... or something..
Xanthia was always of the kind to treat the pokemon first. "its going to sting." She warned. And then she smeared the mixture on Luca's foot, just a bit so it would cover the cut. After which she put pressure on it for a moment, humming a song and then wrapping the entire thing in a leaf. "you should be fine as long as you take it easy." she stated, moving on to Mason.
She started working on him, listening to what he said. "So.. essentially you have snatch then. " she stated, spreading the paste on his foot. Stealing a pokemon's move and then using it against them for a few turns, sounded exactly like snatch.. well sort of.. a more improved snatch. Still, it wasn't the strangest thing she'd ever been told, and he certainly wasn't the first person she'd met who displayed some kind of weird power. They were cropping up everywhere nowadays. Partially due to the radiation which mutated the humans.. and partially due to people trying to recreate what had happened to herself and Cyanna. Though more often than not those people died.. a few survived and had.. strange abilities of their own.
She'd met a girl a few weeks past who could see when it was the perfect time to catch a pokemon. She quite literally could capture any pokemon with any apricorn, no matter the level or how angry it was. Unfortunately this eventually caused her to start bragging, and when she did, she ended up getting used by people and killed.
Though.. hearing that he could mutate was interesting. "How do you exactly.. mutate?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

Luca winced but didn't speak.
"Yeah... I... Like if s Pokemon uses iron tail on me, I'll grow a tail. Fly gives me wings..." He paused and shuddered at that one. That had been excruciating. "It... Well, it really hurts. I'm glad for this one I didn't have to mutate."

Tying up his foot with leaves, which she was so used to doing for herself, Xanthia rechecked Chitter's wound happy to find it nearly healed. She smeared more paste on it just in case, tying it back up and kissing Chitter's forehead lightly while assessing her pain. She didn't have much other than a low hum, so Xanthia left her to deal with it.
She moved back to Mason, clear interest reflecting in her eyes. "Interesting. I could see how that might be painful. I'd like to see it someday. I know it causes you pain, but something like that.. is really interesting." she quickly thought about a list of physical type moves. With relief she realized if he was copying physical moves he would be very limited when it came to special moves... things like Flamethrower and Psychic, which technically didn't make physical contact.. but moves like Psycho cut and bite where the pokemon actually had to physically attack.
"How long have you been able to do this?" this question would actually inform her on a lot of things.. if he was an accident or on purpose.. or if they had been repeating the same experiment again. In which case she would be slightly disgusted. Technically the experiments had ended the year Cyanna was born.. but she wouldn't put it past people to try again. Anything they could do to get a foot ahead of others in this world.
