"That's true.."Lynne said. "So who was inside that cause you to destroy the wall?"
Zeza nodded, shifting to sit up more. "There's a lot of people like they. They're rather adorable."

Joan shifted, glancing away, "Vincent was."
Vincent shook his head, "She can be, but she's more of a would-rather-shove-the-emotionally-nice-things away sort of person."
It brought back the memories of the first time the demon had met Peitho, and the pain of her stabbing him in the arm. He rubbed at the scar idly, turning back to read his book.

Lyne blinked in surprise. "Why?"
"That's a shame. You seem like a great guy."Zeza stood and stretched, heading back outside.

Joan cleared her throat, "Well...it might have....been my fault?" She blushed, and glanced away.
Vincent glanced up at the somewhat abrupt departure, and blinked, trying to decide if he should follow after Zeza, and what he might have done to upset her. He gave a brief scowl. He would have been able to tell decades ago, but that's what he got for only hanging out with a bunch of emotionally stunted idiots. Peitho would have just snapped at him, and he would have been able to pull out what was wrong with his best friend that way. Caleb wore his heart on his sleeve so no trouble there, and Joan had simply lost the ability to care about anything until recently, so he'd never seen her truly upset.

Lynne blinked. "What?! How?!" she demanded.
Zeza wasn't sure what to make of Vincent now. To her it sounded like his heart already belonged to another. She let out a heavy sigh as she headed back to the training area. She'd grown fond of him during their short time together.

"Well," Joan hesitated, "It wasn't long after everything had happened, and I had just been turned. I was maybe....60-ish?" She nodded to herself. "So they had actually been trying to capture me since it turned out that I killed their leader a couple decades earlier, and they still wanted revenge. Vin noticed at tried to do something about it." She glanced down at the table. It had been another person that she cared about being in danger that had snapped her out of the haze she had been in.
Snapping his book shut, VIncent stood up and went to track Zeza down. It wouldn't do either of them any good if they left the situation to grow and fester. He would simply admit that he wasn't sure what he had done.
His scowl faltered for a second remembering the first mortal that he had actually built a relationship with, then shook his head scowling again. Going down that route led to another Joan.

Lynne's eyes went wide."Whoa...So Vin's saved you from a lot of stuff..."
Zeza had been stopped by a couple elders and was talking with them. She was going to let Vincent be, not wanting to get between two people and love.

"Yeah," Joan said, giving a soft smile, "He's a good friend. Couldn't ask for a better one. I've saved him back plenty of time as well though. He tends to get distracted by his reading from time to time."
"Zeza," VIncent called quietly, before standing to the side and waiting until she was ready. It would do no good for him to barge into the conversation. She would know he wanted to talk to her and could wait after that.

Lynne nodded, smiling softly. "He seems like a good friend." she then chuckled. "He always has a book, doesn't he?"
Zeza glanced at Vincent and finished her conversation with the elders before going over to him. She didn't know what to say and was kind of surprised he'd chased after her. Though it couldn't be for reasons she was hoping for.

"You should see where he lives!" Joan laughed, "I swear his furniture is made out of books!"
"I can't help but feel like there is a misunderstanding between us," he said bluntly. "I fear I have upset you somehow and wish to correct that. It was never my intention to hurt you in any way. For that I apologize." He slipped into his more formal way of speaking from his childhood out of habit, speaking curtly. He really didn't want to hurt her, the opposite in fact. He wanted to see her smirk and smile, laugh.
