---Cephei---
@DarkDragonfly

The Skydancer flew calmly, just a bit ahead of the two Fae. His size and wingspan meant Cephei could go much faster, but he was escorting the ladies, and dashing ahead would just be rude.

"Well, I've heard a troop of Earth exaltees is gathering in Greatwyrm's Breach, and I was asked to go and analyse the situation. I'm not much of a scout, more of a strategist, but Wind needs someone who knows if they pose any threats."

He glanced behind at the two, watching their stargazing. Cephei was often called a 'misplaced arcane' on his home clan, mostly because of his name, but he didn't mind it.

"I believe we're close to the Sea of a Thousand Currents already. Do you want to stop and rest? We can carry on in the morning."

---Jagiya---
@Hurricanesong

The Guardian nodded and smiled at the Fae.

"I see. An egg is almost always worth protecting, so you did the right thing."

She looked up when Blackberry mentioned the fight for dominance. Wind wasn't known for their strength, but they could be fearsome. She knew it. The cold night didn't bother her, but she turned her gaze back down at the shivering Fae.

"I have some clanmates which were exalted as well. Haven't met them in a while, though. We are always on the go, scouting and fighting what needs to be fought... Are you ok?"

Jagiya leaned down, looking at his wound. It wasn't very deep, but even shallow cuts could hurt a Fae, and that was no exception.

"Oh, that's not looking good. Keep your words to yourself, we should get going."

--Almighty--
@Loquaciousky

The wind-born landed close to them, his gaze darting between the two dragons. A Skydancer and a Fae, the first from Wind and the second from Ice. Both seemed to be alright.

"Y-yeah! Still in one piece, ya know? Hehe. Your friend's right, I do get coiled up a lot while flying."

He was shivering, but kept still. It was almost impossible to tell if that motion was due to the cold or to the unending energy Spirals were famous for having.

"The name's Almighty, or you can just call me Al. Or Mi. Or Tee. Or anything really."

"I am Patariki, and this--" the Skydancer tilted his head, indicating the Fae with his horns-- "is Arash." The smaller dragon coiled his tail around his perch, studying Almighty with impassive ice-blue eyes. "I am glad to hear you've not hurt yourself; strained muscles can be such a pain to deal with when everything's cold. I take it you're not much used to looking where you're flying? The Fortress is rather more crowded than most other regions of the Icefields, but we're not exactly a big target." Patariki chuckled, his own ruff spreading as he relaxed. Some dragons could be so antagonistic, even towards their allies, but it seemed like Almighty was a friendly enough drake.

---Blackberry---
Blackberry half-nodded before realizing that she had said 'we should get going'. "Get going?" he mumbled, trying not to move his face. "Where? And... wouldn't that mean leaving the egg by itself?" He curled his tail protectively around it.
I hope the parents come for it soon... of maybe I should take it to my old clan? I'm sure they would be able to care for it...

Ursa nodded to the Skydancer."We're gonna need full energy to cross the sea. A large dragon could handle it with ease, but not us." She looked to Starbeam, who yawned loudly in agreement.

She began her descent, picking out a sheltered location by the sea, underneath a large crystallized oak. The waves lapped heavily against the rocks. Ursa looked out into the horizon, dreaming of what other lands looked like. This was just as much an adventure for her as it was for Starbeam. The Starfall Isles and the sky were all she knew.

Starbeam landed softly on the grass by Ursa. She watched and admired how the gentle wind caressed the flora, and how the waves made such a beautiful sound. The earth could be just as beautiful as the sky. She peered up at the moon casting its silvery light over the area and meditated.

Ursa turned to look at Cephei. He reminded her so much of an Arcane; his scales resembled the pallet of the night sky. She almost wished he had been exalted to the Arcanist...

---Cephei---
@DarkDragonfly

"Very well. I'll wake you up at sunrise."

Cephei smiled and flew down, landing near the two Fae. They were just over the border between Wind and Water territories, which usually would mean lots of traffic, but this night was a peaceful one. The stars tinkled in a pattern the Skydancer could recognise, now that they were far from the Observatory, and he stared at them for a while.

Ursa and Starbeam almost reminded him of his home clan. Most dragons there had purple colors like theirs, and a few were Faes. He wasn't the type to feel homesick, but his heart wasn't made of stone.

He sat down on the soft grass, feeling more tired than he'd like to admit, and laid his head down. Maybe he'd be the one who would have to be waken up at sunrise.

---Jagiya---
@Hurricanesong

"I said, keep your words to yourself." She sighed.

"We should go somewhere you can get that checked. I've seen Fae fainting from injuries better than that."

She wasn't lying, but that had happened after a particularly bad fight, and it only happened after it was over. But as long as Jagiya could convince Blackberry of getting some help, it was ok.

"And yes, that means leaving the egg, unless you want to take it straight to the Stormcatcher."

The Lightning deity wasn't exactly known for being a good parent, but it was their best choice. Waiting for the parents would mean they'd have to stay out in the cold, and a clan could reject it for any possible reason.

--Almighty--
@Loquaciousky

"Ha, nice meeting ya!"

Almighty nodded excitedly, his tail twirling around a lump on the ground.

"I've had that once before, back on the Plateau. Boy, was it hard to stay still while they fixed me up..."

The Spiral listened to Patariki's question, and bursted out giggling. His breed was known for being hyperactive, but Almighty seemed a bit too excited about... everything. He flew a couple feet off the ground, keeping his body upright but his head twirled down.

"I know Sornieth upside down, inside out, like the palm of my heart, by hand! Or was it the other way? Doesn't matter. I don't need to look where I'm going anymore, It's just that here what isn't covered in ice is covered in snow, and then every bit of color trails me off."

"It can be a bit washed-out around here, yes." Patariki fluttered his wings, still trying to hold eye contact with the energetic Spiral. (Likely not the best idea-- he was going to do some sort of damage to his neck, he just knew it-- but it never hurt to be polite.) "I take it you were Wind for far longer than I, if you know Sornieth so well? I worked with preserving ancient maps in my old clan, but landmarks change, and few enough had the spirit to map out the Fortress itself."

"Or the strength," Arash added, ruffs relaxing as he acclimatized to Almighty's presence. "As dedicants to the Warden, we aren't troubled by much up here, but those who haven't yet been exalted? Most would be eaten in a heartbeat by the things held in the glacial prisons." The Fae waved his tail back towards the ice-spires that cropped up almost everywhere in the Fortress of Ends, most containing an ancient monster or three.

(( Time to spice this up a little. ))

Ursa was the first to wake the next morning. The early sun shone on her scales, making them almost as light as her sister's. She rose with a yawn and stretched. As she blinked sleep out of her eyes she gazed at Starbeam and Cephei, who were still fast asleep in the shade of the crystal oak. The ocean now shimmered a dazzling aqua and the waves continued their song against the cliffs. Starbeam would drool over a sight like this.

She was just about to wake her up when she heard a nearby twig snap. She froze, her ears perked up and listening carefully, and she immediately went on alert. Bushes rustled, and she heard voices. Dragons? Ambushing us here? Did Cephei set us up? Her head shot around, her eyes searching for the source of the sound, but it seemed to be coming from all around. "Show yourself! Or else!"

"Or else what?"

A large grey Longneck stepped out of the bushes and into the clearing, his staff pointing menacingly towards the Fae. He dwarfed her by many times; he was almost as big as Cephei. More Longnecks poured into the clearing from the foliage. They were now surrounded by a dozen of them.

"Or else I'll shove that stick of yours right into your eye if you keep pointing it at me. Starbeam! Cephei! Wake up!"

Blackberry hesitated, then picked up the egg, barely able to lift it. "Can't leave it," he mumbled.

---Cephei---
@DarkDragonfly
((Oh shoot hehe))

He could be snoring, for what he knew, but suddenly Cephei was woken up by a screech. Not a loud one, but he ouldn't quite make out what was being said... Until he opened his eyes.

Not just one, but a bunch of Longnecks were right in front of his eyes - and seemed ready to attack at any moment. Ursa was facing one of them off, and Starbeam was still fast asleep.

"Beastclans, leave! Or you will face the consequences!"

The Skydancer didn't even bother waking the other Fae up, the whole thing would be enough for that. Cephei knew, just by looking around, that it would be a rough fight. They were completely surrounded, so they had the advantage. He opened his wings and roared, trying to scare some of them off.

---Jagiya---
@Hurricanesong
((nee~ don't worry ^-^))

The Guardian rolled her eyes and took the egg from his claws, holding it herself.

"Fine, if you're that worried about it. Now let's go. I can find someone to heal you back at the Plateau, or maybe you know someone on Water territory?"

The night sky was already fading onto morning, and the harpies could retunr at any moment, so Jagiya kept her guard up.

"Can you fly? It's a long way 'cross the sea, and neither of us have rested enough."

--Almighty--
@Loquaciousky

Almighty uncoiled himself but kept flying on a low level, almost as if he never wished to land.

"Yep! I'm Wind, born and raised! Still don't know why they sent me here, but I don't really care."

The Spiral then turned quickly to the Fae, his nose almost touching Arash's.

"And I'm not afraid of those. It's not like they're going anywhere so soon, right?"
