My brother has Down Syndrome, and each year around Christmas time his highschool class takes a trip to the Dollar Tree to buy little gifts for their families. Seeing how happy he was handing the gifts out was really heartwarming to watch. (He got me a tiny wooden snowflake, a bone for each of my dogs, chocolate for my sister, and a coffee mug for my mother.)
2 (optional). something you learned this year
This actually happened around the beginning of last December, but I learned that in no way will I ever cut my pet budgies nails. My dogs? Sure, not a problem! I’ve cut their nails for years with no complaints. But one of my birds nails was getting too long and after some inner conflict I was like - nope, just going to take them to the vet to get it done.
Way too squirmy, delicate, and it’s just not worth the risk of injury.

Lately I’ve been on a binge listening to some older songs that I loved playing when I was younger. In particular, Bad Day.
Not sure if anyone here remembers it, but many years ago when Club Penguin was a really popular game (it’s been shut down now, I think?), my sister and I would hang out with our friends on there, usually listening to this type of music.

1. just a few days ago i got myself a 5-digit scatter project, so that’s pretty neat c: mostly though, away from flight rising, i’ve been very excited about becoming more independent. recently i treated myself to a new laptop (which i was in desperate need of) and also got a tea set !!!
2. learned a lot about Myself this year, but i won’t get into that. however i did learn a lot about India and South Africa for a class and thought that that was very interesting !!

- I've learned a lot of things hard to pick just one! But one thing is I work best when I have a concrete plan and a deadline because otherwise I'll just procrastinate forever. So I can use this to my advantage, hopefully! Also I'm learning more about horticulture and putting this way of working on projects into as effective a container garden as possible for my apartment balcony this spring. I'm excited! my cats! i've had one for two years now but the other two are recent adopts and my life is so much better for having them

it's okay to not have stuff "figured out". i didn't know what i want to do with myself when i finished high school, or college, or even now, and that's okay!

Something that made you smile this year: One of my friends got a tattoo of the logo from our D&D game's tavern, and it felt really special - that someone enjoyed the work I put in as a GM so much that they wanted it to be a permanent part of themselves.
Something you learned this year: So much! I changed jobs this year and work IT in a school now, and I feel like I'm always learning something new from the kids and the teachers alike. Also learned a lot of drama and gossip lol - the school I started at was full of it! Current school I am assigned to is calmer and friendlier.
