It's strange enough that Alaric seems to mark each of his items with some sort of serial number, but for that number to turn out to be written on a [spoiler]memorial urn[/spoiler]... You aren't sure what to think.
Patches said that when you find whichever item had that the number on it, you should probably search around there. As it turned out, you find it set atop the fireplace mantle in a long, arched ceiling dining hall. So searching near the fireplace it is then. You begin poking around the fireplace, first pawing around the bricks and later using one of the nearby fire irons to overturn the old, charred remains of the wood. Just as it seems you’ll find nothing, a sudden and terribly loud clanking of dishes sounds out behind you. You whirl around and see a cloche on the long dining table clattering around violently.

Cautiously, you approach as the cloche continues to shift and shudder uncontrollably around the table. Yanking the lid off, you are startled once again as a surprisingly heavy and very hungry Puppet dragon lunges out at you. Its jaws knash horrifyingly close to your neck, and you try with all your might to shove it away. Thankfully, before its bear-trap jaws can clamp down on you, it de-animates and falls limp in your arms. You breathe a frightened sigh of relief as its bug-like eyes glass over and the trance takes hold once again. Gods, that was a close call…
Setting the Puppet down, you look back to where it was hiding on the table. Various piles of half-eaten food litter the surface, along with spilled cups, broken glass, and… another note?!
“The altar planned, the vision stands, all the world is stable. All that now doth bother me - two misfits ‘round the table.”
Two misfits? What does that mean? What does any of this mean? Are there some objects on the table that somehow don’t belong? It would definitely be a good idea to check before going back and reporting to Patches. Let’s see…
