As you take your seat (or perch, or patch of moss) among other aspiring naturalists, the dragon continues. "We've been waiting quite a while to reveal to you the new clubhouse," she says, waving an arm around the beautiful old structure, a repurposed hunting lodge deep in the foliage of the Shrieking Wilds.
Some polite applause follows this pronouncement, but one of the other dragons next to her starts tapping his foot.
"Okay, okay," snaps the Pearlcatcher, but she turns to the impatient dragon with a faux-admonishing glance. "Here it is... your first challenge, for which you can earn a lovely badge and raffle ticket!"
Pandemonium erupts as voices clamor to ask questions and necks crane around you to see the promised prizes on the table up front.
"Calm down, everyone!" squeaks the Pearlcatcher, clearly taken by surprise by the crowd's enthusiasm. "Don't knock over our mini-Behemoth, please, the Faes spent so long decorating it... This is how the Society rewards your discoveries, now listen up."
