End Case Note #1[/i] Quickly scanning the area around the Pillar, I noticed a surprising lack of festive decor. Strange.. Hopefully those fiendish crabs didn’t swipe our decor too. But decor theft was the last thing on my mind, as I spotted what I came for, a local clan member who can provide me with information! “Excuse me! Miss! You’re a local here, correct? I wanted to ask you a couple of questions!” I waved her down as best I could [columns][size=4]“Sure, I have a moment, what seems to be the matter?” Standing before me was a beautiful Skydancer adorned in the most luxurious of silks and jewels. I was wondering if you’d spotted them stealing from your clan.” “Ah, of course. Well, no we haven’t seen any crabs around here at least. Though someone did swipe my wing ribbons I usually wear, and I think my clanmate, Sunfire mentioned she had counted a lot less food supply than a usual daily meal’s worth being absent from our hoard..” A somber expression formed on the Skydancer’s face. Missing food stores is serious, if clans can’t feed their members.. Well, I don’t even want to think of such a grim idea. “My apologies, about the crabs stealing from your clan. We’re currently doing our best to locate and recover the lost possessions from those fiends.” Disappearing food and jewels, definitely sounded like the crabs had been this way.. But where in the world did they go after swiping from innocent dragons? Did they decide to pawn them off to Swipp in some sort of nefarious attempt at quick treasure? But then again, there have been rumors about some shady creatures using jewels to pay off their debts to the mob bosses located somewhere around the Sunbeam Ruins.. These thoughts flew past me like a bird caught in the Twisting Crescendo. Not wanting to lose track of these possible theories, I hurried my way back to the lair to document things further. [/size] [center][b]Tuesday[/b][/center] [size=4] “According to this lead, they could have gone to that abandoned library in the Shattered Plains.. But witnesses say they saw some crabs hiding in a cave near the Northern sea. Scrabbles! Do you remember where those crabs went?” I looked away from the cork board hanging on the wall in front of me. Scrabbles was, as per usual, uninterested in aiding me on hunting down the crabs. “Why do I even ask you to assist with this case, of course you haven’t seen the crabs,” I said with a slight chuckle. Turning back to the cork board, I scanned the photos before me, hoping to find a lead. “Hmm.. How plausible is it that the crabs are secretly working for Marva and seek to use the stolen crops to start their own food cart called Crabby’s?” “Marva has been known to mess with dragons, and perhaps she was starting her shenanigans earlier than usual? Nobody really knows why, or when she’ll play tricks so it could be a possible theory..” The only problem I saw with this thought however, was the fact it didn’t click with anything else strung up on the board. It didn’t connect to anything, but what did? There was the possible answer that Crim had stepped up her collecting game and went mad with power.. Or the idea that a sneaky dragon had teamed up with a colleague proficient in aquatic languages in an attempt to devise a devious plot, thus thwarting this year’s harvest and giving them the advantage to take over Dragonhome itself! “Scrabbles! This is getting us nowhere! Don’t you have any idea as to how we can finally get a better lead on these crusty crustaceans?” I met eyes with Scrabbles, and for once I think she finally had something going on in that empty head of hers. “By Jove you’re right! You brilliant cat! We should go see what the Crystalcourt Elites are doing about this! Why didn’t you tell me this before, Scrabbles?” Of course there was no time to stop and wait for Scrabbles to process another thought as to why she didn’t tell me before, we had to catch the elites before the festival! Below I’ve documented the conversation to the best of my knowledge “Agatha I still think we shouldn’t call off the festival due to a horde of crabs. We can just explain to everyone honestly and say that until we can catch them, that we can’t host the feast this year.” “I respect your opinion, Esmerelda, but the feast is an important part of Rockbreaker’s and no feast is as if you postpone the celebration itself!” Quickly glancing at Agatha, I noticed she had a very frustrated expression. Clearly she’d been trying to hide her stress, but one can only hide it for so long. “Then what should we do? Jasper is a little late today, and we can’t come to a conclusion about this without him.” “I don’t quite know, but we mustn’t let the rest of Dragonhome panic about this. We still do have half of our harvest and some farmers are reporting that they’ve noticed odd sunflower seed trails leading off in the direction of Cairnstone.” “So why did they headed that way, Agatha? Surely the crabs would be driven away by the skeletal wyrms protecting the graves, wouldn’t just hiding in the Shattered Plains be better? It’s vast enough it’d take at least a couple of days for an entire clan to scan the desert.” It was at this point, Esmerelda and Agatha had walked out of earshot, regardless I finally had my lead!
