TOPIC | [GG25] Woodle (Puzzles Still Available!)
Woodle
Welcome! Do you like puzzles? You're in the right place!

With all of the (good) chaos happening in the Viridian Labyrinth, we have to remember that keeping a good routine is important. Exercising our brains is a great way to keep ourselves present in the moment, and to not get overwhelmed in a hard situation. Please come join us here at Woodle for the next two weeks during Greenskeeper Gathering to play some puzzles with us!

Every day, there will be 3-5 different types of puzzles that you'll be able to solve. Please be sure to read the rules, but honestly just have a good time.

Please sign up for the pinglist here! We will use it to ping the daily puzzles.

How To Play

Don't know how to play a certain type of game? Here is a quick guide to kick-start your puzzle adventure! If you need more help solving a specific type of puzzle, feel free to leave a message on the forum, I guarantee puzzle enthusiasts everywhere want to help you.

Crossword

Crosswords are a type of puzzle consisting of a grid of empty squares that cross vertically and horizontally atop one another. You will be able to guess those words based on the clues you find to the side. Some clues are not as straightforward as you read them at first.

[How to Finish a Crossword]

Read the clues and answer the easy ones first! Getting some correct answers in will help you fill in the blanks later, and incomplete words can jog your memory.
Bear bullet point. ‏‏‎UfHl5Xb.png
Take a break if you're getting frustrated or are stuck. If you think the clue is unfair or isn't helpful, please ask for help from @/uruhead.
Nature rune bullet point. ‏‏UfHl5Xb.png
Many of these crosswords over the next 2 weeks will be Flight Rising related, so if you're really stuck, feel free to use the Encyclopedia, Data Base, or searching around the website to see if it can give you any clues.

Logic Grid

Logic Grids is a type of puzzle that puts your deductive reasoning to the test. You use a grid to organize clues in relation to the subjects. By paying attention to the ways certain attributes correspond, you are able to determine the answer to the riddle. Every category on the grid correlates with every other item on the grid once, and only once.

If you would like some more help with understanding the logic sequences that go into Logic Grids, please feel free to ping @/alyblaith! They are a wizard at these (and created most/all of the ones that will be featured)!

Nonogram

Nonograms are logic puzzles that use numbers on the top and left of the grid to be able to tell you what colored spaces will be on the board. By figuring out the puzzle, you reveal a picture!

[Nonogram Tutorial]
Bear bullet point. ‏‏‎UfHl5Xb.png I made all of these myself, though I wouldn't have gotten any of them to be solvable without the help of my friends on the Nature Dominance discord! Thank you for all of your help!
Nature rune bullet point. UfHl5Xb.png
Counting is your friend. Good luck!
Sudoku

Sudoku is a number-placing logic puzzle where the player has to fill in a 9x9 grid with numbers 1-9. No number can repeat within a 3x3 square (marked with thicker lines usually), in a horizontal line of 9, or a vertical line of 9.

[How to Play Sudoku]
Bear bullet point. ‏‏‎UfHl5Xb.png Don't be afraid to start from the beginning, or to start from a place you know you're correct from. Just one misplaced number will make the entire puzzle unsolvable.
Woodle

Wordle - er, Woodle is a new addition to the puzzle rotation, in where you have to deduce a 5-letter word by guessing other words. Green letters mean that it's in the correct place, Yellow means that it is in the word but in the wrong place, and Grey means that letter is not in the word.

Nature rune bullet point. UfHl5Xb.png
The answers cannot be plural, as in: the Wordle cannot be "trees" because it is a plural of the singular "tree". That is real in the NYT Wordle as well!
Word Search

Word Scrambles, Word Search, there are lots of different names for these types of puzzle! The target words are suspended in randomized letters so they're harder to see.
Bear bullet point. ‏‏‎UfHl5Xb.png Start by looking for words that have uncommonly used letters or letter combinations and see if you can't find them in the word search.
Nature rune bullet point. UfHl5Xb.png
If the first tip doesn't work, try looking for the first letter of the word in the puzzle and check the surrounding letters to see if you can find the second letter.
