No one knows quite to expect as the ship calmly tows forward through the churning sea - a little too calmly, in fact, for it feels less like bobbing through angry waves and more like sliding over a calm sea. When you look closer, you notice that the waves don’t quite touch your ship, as if an invisible moat of air has been carved between the wooden planks and the water. The rain still howls and plummets down from above though, running into your eyes and into the corners of your mouth.

Kalte had always loved the sight of the sea in a storm, but the lack of movement from the ship is almost enough to make them seasick, something they typically do not have to contend with. Now they understand why others don’t travel by boat.
Kalte stares back at Storm, gives them a quick bow (it’s only polite) and picks up the blue dice. Rolling it between their fingers, they cast it onto the deck, watching as it rolls, before landing on a silver star. They wander over, pondering on what that could mean, what sort of gift they will recieve, when a young auraboa makes their way towards the dice.
“What are you… Don’t! That’s my dice!” Kalte rushes forward, trying to get to it before the curious hatchling makes a meal of the precious gift.

The auraboa’s mouth snaps around empty air as Kalte snatches the dice up. They keep mouthing at Kalte’s hand as they try and put the dice away.
“My gift from the Abyssal Seer,” they say, shooing them away, back towards the central group of travellers.

"Storm, then - it is Aloft," it breathes, running its fingers over the dice in one of its many hands. "It is as ready as it will ever be - for whatever the Abyssal Seer may bring..."
It feels the urge to learn what the Abyssal Seer is doing with its little game; to learn, to listen. And that, in turn, becomes its boon from the very being it was pursuing with the strange fathom... a silver eye stares back at it - it had fully intended to roll the dice, but it seems its fate was decided.

He squatted down and dropped a die to the deck. Rain bounced it around before it finally settled at Ernest's feet. A circle... No, a coin.
Ernest furrowed his brows. As a sea-side merchant, he naturally loves money, but has made his living on land without the need to ever step foot on a ship. What relic or quantity of treasure would lead him here? His imagination ran wild for a few moments until a feeling of being watched struck him. Ernest looked up at Storm, then turned around to view his shipmates and turbulent horizon. Fear stuck Ernest as his eyes fell on gold swirling orbs in the distance.
