Sarruma, as the eldest of his Clan's representatives present at the Winter Games and thus delegated as the most responsible, lead his envoy of clanmates through the bustling winter village, trying (mostly in vain) to keep his companions acting in a respectful and professional manner.
The chunky Earthen Obelisk kept his wings tucked close to his body as he forged a path through the shopping stalls and their milling attendants and perusers, attempting to minimise the amount of space he took up and all the while nodding polite greetings and flashing bashful smiles at those who he passed along the way.
He paused and peered at a carved wooden signpost, clearing his throat meaningfully and gesturing for his companions to stop behind him as he read it. As Sarruma took note of the locations and directions of the various events displayed on the sign, he willed himself not to get too far ahead of his current purpose: The hunt for the accommodation block where he and his companions had been assigned to bunk for the duration of the games.
Sarruma jostled the kit bag slung around his shoulder and spoke aloud to his companions, his deep voice raised to a rumbling shout to be heard above the rowdy hullabaloo of the grounds and it's occupants.
"It said in our invitation letter we were to be housed in block C, which is..."
He paused and stared down at the map he held in one paw, then back up to the signpost before continuing to speak.
"Over to the right here, we should settle in and drop off our kit bags and supplies before exploring further and practicing for our events."
Sarruma and his companions had already decided which events they would each be taking part in long before their journey to the Winter Games, and as such he was mostly prepared to be competing in his first event, the Alpine Skiing class.
'However,' he mused to himself as he eyed the inclement weather and shook the snow off of his mane, 'further practice definitely wouldn't go amiss, particularly due to the differing conditions here compared to practicing back home, one can never be too prepared after all.'

Event: Luge

Orville winged his way through the proceedings, goggles on to read the event signs against the bright glare of the snow. He was hunting for one in particular, and it should be obvious...
There! A curving track twisted and turned down the event slopes. Orville studied it for a moment, picking out a few tough turns, then banked around to land at the registration and equipment booths. What luck - they even still had his favorite rental sled! This was going to be a good run, he could feel it.

Of course Orville had to come back again c: He may not be in my permanent lore right now, but his barnstorming ways are always in my heart <3

I'd like to be added to both pinglists, please!

Is there any benefit to participating in an event more than once/participating in multiple events per day? I don't fully understand the clarifications in the rules.

[i]“Alright team! Listen up!
I won’t lie to you… we are out matched. This is our first year and we are going up against some tough veterans. On our own we don’t stand a chance… but we are not alone. We are never alone. You have your better halves and we all have each other. All eleven of us together, we are powerful. Together we are a well oiled machine. A pillar of strength. Together this is easy. As easy as hunting a pocketmouse. In fact, you should think of this as a hunt. Once you get the puck stay on it. The rest of your pack will protect you. Stick to our strategy. Trust in your team. And most importantly trust in yourselves.
We may not win but no mater what, you will be MY team!

Eis knew their clan was looking forward to the Winter Games. At first they planned on being a spectator, but something about skating fast intrigued them. It looked very fun and it would make their Tundra partner happy to see them actively competing.
Plus being here means they don't have to hunt for those rare treasure chests in the Coliseum. Let that be someone else's job this month. With that in mind, Eis proceeds to sign up for the game.
Now it's time to see if they are a natural at skating.

Day 1: Ski Jumping

SoarSpot was a returning competitor. After a moderately successful attempt the year before (he'd survived), he'd moved to warmer climates six months later, putting an end to his procrastinating training. Now he had a good excuse not to. Back in winter gear, he was about as confident as he'd been the year before, expecting roughly the same result: survival, with the added benefit that it wasn't more snow awaiting him home this time.
If the year that had passed had taught him one thing it was that the grass was not greener on the other side of the fence, and that the hunt for seafood wasn't easier either. Oh, and that skis were harder to come by. He'd 'accidentally' misplaced his pair during the move... 'Fortunately' some fellow clan members had helpfully lovingly crafted replacements for the [s]torture instruments[/s] high-performance gear he now had firmly attached for his feet. They made walking difficult. They made everything difficult. Especially jumping, in fact...
True to his name and birth flight, he was ready to soar... But was he ready to stick the landing?

Hello! You can only enter each different sporting event once (duplicate entries will be disqualified). You have to enter an event in order to be eligible for the gold-silver-bronze medals and prize packs for that particular one. You have to enter at least 6 events to be eligible for the overall clan medal and prize packs.
Some people want to enter all 8 to increase their chances of getting a medal. Since there are only 7 days of being open, if someone wants to enter everything, they will have to do two events in one day. ALSO - if you get behind due to real life, you can double-up later to catch up. (I've even had people do ALL 6-8 events in one day.)
The Word of the Day has to be used on that day only, however. (There's separate prizes for those.)
