Coming into Terraclae there were many other caravans coming in and out, as well as a few dragons on foot or wing. I could tell that it wasn't Jelane's first time here since she was perfectly calm when a group of Mirrors came out to inspect our caravan and question us what our business was. Morning doesn't do too well when put under pressure like that, so I answered for them that we're searching for a Guardian, and we think she might be here. Honestly, I think I could've said that I wanted to raise an Emperor from the dead and they wouldn't have batted an eye from how bored they all looked. I have a feeling the only reason they inspect incomers is to just keep out the most obviously guilty looking dragons. After we came in and Jelane parked us, I paid her and we said our farewells. Morning was strangely quiet and was just looking around and following close behind me. I know they get overwhelmed when there's too many dragons around, and Terraclae *is* the capital of the Earth lands, so there's a lot of strangers around. I wanted to find a safe place where we can rest as soon as possible, so I tried asking around. Everyone was pretty flippant and in a rush, so I gave up on that idea and started looking for the nearest clans. Terraclae is made up of lots of individual clans that live in the old quarries. There are a few main ones that make up the leaders of the city. Actually, we're now in the clan of Ploughtour, one of the head clans. We were found by a gruff brown Obelisk as we were following a random road, and he called us over. When I him his mane... his mane is so lucious, I wanted to stroke the curls and feel how soft it was, bury my face in there. Krux, his name is. I want to find him again if I can, I think he's often around the entrance to the clan. But anyways! We followed him back to Ploughtour. He's one of the ambassadors for the clan, and he says he has an eye for newcomers to Terraclae. We now have a room in a tent right outside the main quarry for the clan. It's not much, but at least I'm not sleeping on some flour sacks on a moving caravan anymore. Morning has returned back to their normal self now. I'm curious to explore the clan more tomorrow, maybe find some more information around the place. I thought it'd be more gloomy in the tunnels, but there's a lot of orbs made from light magic that make the cave walls feel less like something cut from the ground and more like a castle's corridors. I wouldn't want to live underground, I don't think I could handle the nagging fear of an earthquake locking me inside, but it's a welcome stop. Ink is a spotty Pearlcatcher. She's a historian investigating a particular set of clans that once lived in the Greatwyrm's Breach, which is perfect for who we need. Although she hasn't travelled down there before, she says that she knows other historians who have that she can ask about for tips on having a safe trip down there. She's been wanting to go down there to explore some ruins for first hand experience, so she is happy to help us as long as we help with keeping her safe. Morning and Ink have been talking a lot, which I expected since Morning loves learning about anything and everything to do with old dragon lives. They're still up talking now, I can hear her voice through the tunnel walls when I put my ear to it. Obviously I'm not eavesdropping on them, it's just that I thought it was neat that all sorts of vibrations travel through the walls! Before I retired to my room, though, I did hear that the clans Ink is looking into are a group of Plague dragons that migrated north and supposedly tamed bone wyrms in the breach, which sounds interesting. I'm more of an action kind of dragon than a sit-down-and-read-dusty-books kind though. I'd love to see these wyrms for myself. Ink is really fun looking, how dramatic! I'm enjoying the exploratory/scholarly aspect of this journey. Fingers crossed for good pinkerton pulls!

Aspen recommended to me that I try writing out what I'm thinking about to try and organise it all, so I got a spare scroll from Ink for this. I was feeling good about having Ink come along with us to guide us into the Breach, but she showed me that she has 2 eggs to take care of, from a previous lover, and she will be taking them with her on the journey. I really don't think it's a good idea to take a pair of eggs down with us on this journey. What if they get scratched, get sick, or break? They're Lightning eggs too, so they need to have an electricity supply to help the hatchlings inside make it out healthy. If anything were to happen to the eggs, Ink would be devastated, and I would be too. I'd blame myself for what happened to them, since we could take any other dragon guide with us down to the Breach. Aspen is set on taking Ink down, though. I don't think he realises how hard it is to take good care of eggs. Even with all of his siblings and his determination to find his sister, I never saw him taking care of any eggs my entire life, and we've been friends since we were hatchlings. Yes he's a great brother, but sometimes he doesn't let his head think straight and gets lost in thinking what's best for everyone. Ink also seems really set on coming with us, and she says that she's never managed to get a good time to go down to the canyon until now. Either she was swamped with books to read through and study when there were other expeditions down to where she wanted, or there was nobody else willing to come when she was free. Now she can come down, and she says she'll take the eggs along just as she would her pearl. She was so happy when she first heard that we wanted to go to the Greatwyrm's Breach, I feel bad about how she's willing to risk her own children to come with us. I would ask Aspen if we could stay until the eggs hatch to go down to the canyon, but time is of essence, and the other two are eager to go.
