[center][i][b]The Quartz Realm[/b][/i] [img]https://i.imgur.com/DsVZfgO.png[/img] [b]Rules & Information[/b] I'm going to be following the Kingdomlocke 2.0 rules, which can be found [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/qnc/3102226/1]here.[/url] Because I am impatient and usually have a lot of free time, I will likely use Crim pulls in addition to Pinkerton pulls. I will count every pull as its own day. If I end up finishing my kingdom, I will likely start a second kingdomlocke or use one of my dragons for a different challenge. ----- [b]Story[/b] Lorna was 4th in line to a small, fairly insignificant kingdom, and she knew that her chances to be Queen were dismal. As such, she hatched a plot to discreetly kill her three older siblings and make it look like accidents. However, before she could even begin, she was caught by her father, the King. As punishment for her treasonous actions, Lorna was banished to wander the wilderness forever. Her only companion was to be her lady-in-waiting Xii, who refused to let her lady travel alone. A few days into their journey, they came across a male named Opulence, who had wanted to see what the world was like outside of his home. After chatting around a fire for a few hours, he decided that he found the two ladies to be very intriguing, and asked if he could accompany them on their travels. Lorna and Xii agreed, and the group continued wandering. Finally, after several weeks, the group made their way into a strange land. Gigantic gnarled trees stretched their branches towards the sky, blocking out much of the sun. Glowing mushrooms and small clusters of crystals jut out from the plants and ground. A deep stream carved its way through the grass, weaving between trees like a serpent. “Here. We’ll make our new home here,” Lorna said, sounding almost entranced. And thus began the start of a new kingdom. [/center]

Died to a plague on Day 10. [center][b]Day 1[/b] [item=Cattail] [b][i]Lorna[/i][/b], [b][i]Xii[/i][/b], and [b][i]Opulence[/i][/b] are chosen to battle for 10-20 matches in the coliseum. All three survive and reach level 4. [b][i]Lorna[/i][/b] and [b][i]Opulence[/i][/b] are nesting. ----- Queen Lorna wouldn’t call herself a particularly romantically inclined individual, but she knew that as the ruler of a brand new kingdom, she had a duty to her people to produce an heir. To avoid stressing herself out over this obligation, Lorna decided to get it over with sooner rather than later. After the group finished battling in the Training Fields, Lorna asked Opulence if he was willing to help her in this matter, though she made it perfectly clear that this was strictly business. He agreed, and the two produced two eggs together.[/center]

[center][b]Day 2[/b] [item=Walrus Pelt] A new dragon, [i][b]Yaaziel[/b][/i], wanders into The Quartz Realm. ----- Yaaziel wasn’t sure how she managed to last this long in the wilderness. A former daughter of nobility, she had been on the run from an arranged marriage. It felt like she had been fleeing for days, but just when she thought she couldn’t take another step, she came across a small clearing. It was here where she met Queen Lorna, and once Yaaziel explained her situation, Lorna offered her a place to stay. Yaaziel eagerly agreed, and has been staying with the group ever since.[/center]

[center][b]Day 3[/b] [item=Venerable Shalebuck] A new dragon, [i][b]Charlotta[/b][/i], wanders into The Quartz Realm. ----- Charlotta was incredibly bored with her life, tired of living in the same old town with the same unremarkable routine. So when she heard news of a new settlement slowly growing a few miles from her village, she decided to head out to start a new life. When she reached the Quartz Realm, she was slightly disappointed to see it was just a small group of ragabonds, but then she paused and thought a bit. Maybe her new life’s purpose could be helping this quaint camp grow into something more? She'd have to stick around and find out.[/center]

[center][b]Day 4[/b] [item=Bamboo Cluster] [b][i]Opulence[/i][/b], [b][i]Xii[/i][/b], and [b][i]Yaaziel[/i][/b] are chosen to go on a hunting trip. After fighting in 40-50 matches, each one has a 1/6 chance of succumbing to their injuries and dying. Fortunately, everyone survives and returns home with their spoils. In fact, Xii even earns an extra life for gaining the kingdom a Zephyr Acuity Stone. Yaaziel reaches level 4. ----- As he battled alongside Xii and Yaaziel, Opulence could only think about wanting to live and see his hatchlings grow. It seemed as though the harder they fought to get home, the more creatures seemed to want them dead. Thankfully though, they all finally stumbled across the little clearing of the Quartz Realm.[/center]

[center][b]Day 5[/b] [item=Star Moss] [b][i]Lorna[/i][/b] and [b][i]Opulence's [/i][/b]nest will hatch after 3 incubation periods. [b][i]Lorna[/i][/b], [b][i]Xii[/i][/b], and [b][i]Charlotta [/i][/b]are chosen to battle for 10-20 matches in the coliseum. All three survive, and [b][i]Charlotta [/i][/b]reaches level 3. ----- Construction in the capital of the kingdom has been progressing well. Workers from nearby villages had been hired to aid the process, and Lorna hopes that in the future, she may be able to convince them to join the Quartz Realm. Already, several buildings are nearly complete, and the citizens are sure that it will turn into a bustling city in no time.[/center]

[center][b]Day 6[/b] [item=White-Eared Hummingbird] [b][i]Yaaziel[/i][/b], [b][i]Lorna[/i][/b], and [b][i]Opulence [/i][/b]are chosen to battle for 40-50 matches in the coliseum. Everyone survives and reaches level 6. [b][i]Yaaziel [/i][/b]and [b][i]Opulence [/i][/b]are able to choose a job. [b][i]Opulence [/i][/b]decides to become a gardener, but [b][i]Yaaziel [/i][/b]is unsatisfied with [b][i]Lorna's [/i][/b]rule and challenges her for the title of Royal. [b][i]Yaaziel [/i][/b]and [b][i]Lorna [/i][/b]manage to talk it out and [b][i]Yaaziel [/i][/b]settles for becoming a blacksmith instead, though tensions are still high between the two. ----- "Are you sure you know what you're doing, Lorna?" Yaaziel asks. "I mean, one has to wonder if you were ever actually royalty at all." "Now, what exactly is that supposed to mean?" Lorna retorts, eyes sharp. "What it means is that you're making some poor decisions. You've apparently been in charge for a week and yet this so-called 'kingdom' is little more than a village. Surely by now you could have convinced some locals to become vassals?" questions Yaaziel. "I think that you ought to step down and let someone else take charge for a bit. I was raised as a noble, I'm certain that my background would allow us to make much greater progress." "I don't appreciate your tone, Yaaziel, nor your challenge against me. If I were anything like my parents, I would have had you beheaded for such claims. However, you do have a point. I have not been making nearly as much progress in growing the Quartz Realm as I would have liked..." Lorna pauses for a moment before continuing. "I will not step down, but I will take your suggestion to vasselize nearby towns. In fact, I would like for you to take a more active roll in helping the capital grow. I ask of you, please consider becoming a blacksmith. It would be incredibly helpful to have someone producing tools and other items for our workers and citizens." Yaaziel's face scrunches up in thought, but she finally concedes. "Very well. I shall take you up on your offer. However, this doesn't mean that you get a free pass. Know that I will hold you to your word, my liege."[/center]

[center][b]Day 7[/b] [item=Grey Squirrel] [b][i]Lorna[/i][/b] and [b][i]Opulence's [/i][/b]nest will hatch after 2 incubation periods. [b][i]Xii[/i][/b], [b][i]Opulence[/i][/b], and [b][i]Lorna [/i][/b]are chosen to battle for 40-50 matches in the coliseum. Everyone survives. [b][i]Opulence [/i][/b]and [b][i]Lorna [/i][/b]reach level 7, and [b][i]Xii [/i][/b]reaches level 6. [b][i]Xii [/i][/b]is able to choose a job and decides to become an artist. ----- Xii knew that her station as Lorna's lady-in-waiting had offered her many priveleges, but the part she was most grateful for was that her lady had always allowed her to explore her hobbies and even joined her occasionally. Nothing had ever clicked quite as much with Xii as creating art did, so she knew that in this new kingdom, that was what she wanted to do. However, there was a small issue in the fact that Xii would have to abandon her position as a lady-in-waiting to do so. After building up the courage to talk to Queen Lorna, Xii expected her to be upset when she asked for permission to leave her station. Instead, her lady simply smiled at her. "Xii, I would love for nothing more than for you to be my court painter, if you're willing. You've been through my side through this whole ordeal, it's only right that I repay you." Overwhelmed, tears welled in Xii's eyes, but she willed them away to give Lorna a watery smile. "Of course, my lady."[/center]
