One minute, she was completely unaware of her existence, and the next, she was brought into awareness wandering a frozen wasteland. The only thing she knew for certain was that she wanted to make this place one that she was proud to call home. And so she set out to where the ice met the water, and decided to found a settlement, which she named the Moonstone Sanctuary. Centuries passed by her, the Moonstone Sanctuary grew into a thriving community with a rich culture. It seemed perfect, for a bit. Astraea felt numb despite all she had accomplished. She was surrounded by others, and yet, she felt just as lonely as the day she gained consciousness all those years ago. What made her so different from the others? Why couldn't she seem to die, at least of natural causes? The loneliness settled deep into her bones, hardening into apathy. Sometimes, she would simply stand by the shore and stare at the cold, crashing waves. Rumors spread throughout the sanctuary that perhaps she was not a dragon at all, but a glacial spirit sent to guide dragonkind. She didn't bother to correct them, too consumed with contemplating her existence, and rumors turned into fact in the eyes of the people. Maybe a family could cure the solitude that plagues her... maybe one would be just like her? If not, then at least they could be something to pass the seemingly endless amount of time she had. And thus, her lineage had begun.[/center]
