We've had a productive hatch day of... ten hatchlings! Each with at least one upgrade per line, yay! Let me introduce you to the heirs and spares, along with the new mates I picked up.
Oh, and I vastly overestimated the amount of hibden space I had, so if you want a hatchling you'll have until roughly tomorrow afternoon PST to let me know. I'll sell 'em for 5 gems a hatchling if you want! Otherwise, they're all going to be put on the auction house.
With that out of the way, let's introduce the new generation!
Gemstone Gaolers
We're starting off strong with a double upgrade for our heir! Meet Cobalt, who really takes after his mother Sapphire. This pretty boy came with a primary and a tertiary upgrade and in such stunning and vivid shades of blue. I love him.
Another one of his siblings got a tertiary upgrade. I really like the way Zircon turned out, I think Shardflanks goes well with the rest of his colors! The other brother, Tanzanite, is also very pretty. I think he's my favorite, even with no upgrades.
The mate this round is Tourmaline, and boy is she bright! Also, it turns out that I screwed up when picking her and her tertiary is Weathered, a limited gene and not Wintercoat, an uncommon gene like I thought I'd picked in the Auction House. Oops! If any hatchlings manage the unexpected jump I'll call that a win, but if not then the next generation will have the right rarities.
Here is their breeding card! Look at all those blues and greens. Love that for them <3
Chicken Banescales
The banescale line had two kids with one upgrade, which made this a hard choice. Ultimately however, I decided to go with Wyandotte since he has a primary gene over his sibling with a secondary. I think he's pretty cute! I like the blue and grey.
The other kid with a gene, Faverolle, is definitely my favorite. I love black primaries with greens for the other two colors. However, I decided I wanted the primary gene more than the secondary. The other two kids, Frivolle and Minorca, are also very pretty even if they're triple basic.
This round's mate is Silkie! She actually came with the name Glamrock, which I think she suits well. However, for the sake of the challenge she has become Chicken. Luckily, Silkie chickens are very fancy indeed.
Here's their breeding card! They follow a similar theme to the last generation, with a short range greyscale primary and some absolutely wild secondary and tertiary ranges. Maybe next generation I'll mix it up.
Butterfly Veilspun
The veilspun line was an easy pick since there was only one hatchling with upgrades, and she came with two! Meet Diadem, an absolute beauty and the only heir with a secondary upgrade. I really like her, I think there's something beautiful about her vivid colors against a simple primary.
Her two siblings, Atala and Glasswing, are also both very pretty. I think I'm most partial to Glasswing though. There's something about the blue of his wings that charms me.
This mate is Harvester! I really like him because he looks like a pumpkin. Plus, he has a caramel primary and I'm quite partial to caramel. It's such a pleasant color.
Here's their card! I think they have the wildest range out of all three pairs.
All three lines will be ready to breed on January 30th. I'm excited for all three lines, though I am still very partial to the Banescales because I think they'll make the prettiest babies. Which line are you guys rooting for?
