A (finished) fodderlocke
Warning: This fodderlocke contains minor gore!
~
Many dragons commit crimes.
Thievery, vandalism, murder, extortion. . . the list is seemingly endless.
Many dragons don't get caught.
Even more do.
This is where we meet our ever-changing cast.
A group of dragons, each sentenced to years or even lifetimes in the Coliseum. Though it's less like slavery and more like a survival challenge- dropped in the depths of the Mire or the blazing trees of the Scorched Forest and left to die, or in some lucky cases, survive. Barely.
Meet the Drowned Delinquents. Specializing in wetter venues, such as the Mire or the Kelp Beds. A group of dragons sticking together in order to survive, increasing their chances of making it out alive. Or undead. Or at all.
Though some say it's even worse than being on your own- constant backstabbing, the tumultuous power swapping of leaders dying every other week. But the small friendships found within the depths of thinly veiled hatred for one another make it worth enough for many.

My Own Rules:
the original thread can be found here.
1. I must write for every single dragon! Because why not!
2. All dragons with lore who die will be archived here. (please let me know if the google document doesn't work!)
3. All dragons who die will have a 50% chance to be granted the ability to come back. Any who do have the ability to be revived will be stored in my hibden.
4. For every day, I must get a random number generator to pick a number between 1-50.
a) If 1 is chosen, a dragon dies.
b) If 25 is chosen, a dragon is seriously injured.
c) If 50 chosen, a dragon previously dead comes back to life, if possible.
5. If you're interested in a dragon, feel free to pm me about purchasing them once they die! It's a tad morbid, but I figured I'd include this option for people interested. Alternatively, you can also offer to purchase a dragon in the 'Can be revived' section.

DAY 1
Lexa was walking alone with Dovis. The skydancer seemingly always wanted to be with her- she hadn't figured out why just yet, but humoring him didn't seem like the worst idea. They chatted as the sun slowly began to sink over the horizon and the swamplands they walked on grew colder and colder. Until a figure burst out of a nearby bush.
"Woah, who's there-" Lexa stopped in her tracks, suddenly wary of the figure silhouetted by the sunset. Dovis continued, only to bring back a frightened young tundra with an air of innocence to her. She stared up at Lexa and immediately began sticking to the guardian's side. "Um, hello?"
"H-hi, my name's Ayano. N-nice to m-meet you!" The tundra had a cut across her face and was clearly freezing. It seemed like she'd gotten into a spat with a dragon, who'd won and thrown her into the swamp.
"Hello, Ayano, we'd better get you back to the base." Lexa nodded at Dovis, who quickly escorted Ayano away. But curiously, the tundra turned right around and came back to Lexa.
Sighing, the guardian lead her back to the camp herself.
"Um, what is this place?" Ayano asked once inside a warm tent. Bandages had been applied to her face and she was slurping down a warm bowl of psywurm stew.
Lexa detailed the tundra on what the Drowned Delinquents were, and in turn, Ayano explained her presence in the Coliseum. It's safe to say Dovis and Lexa were slightly off-put, but let the tundra join them anyways. Suddenly, she spoke up.
"Could I be your assistant? I think I'd do a good job."
Lexa saw Dovis scowl out of the corner of her eye. Turning to the skydancer, who quickly changed expressions, she told him to go find another dragon and fight for some more food.
"Fine." Dovis' response was curt.
Dovis saw Lexa nodding to Ayano as he left the tent and began to scour out a partner. He began to mutter to himself about how Ayano was going to steal Lexa from him, though his complaints were quickly stopped as he saw Joseff leaning against a tent a little farther away, clearly bored.
"Care to go hunting?" Dovis coolly asked the spiral. The two of them didn't have the best relationship, but the group needed food, so they'd have to deal with each other.
Joseff stared at him for a moment. "Sure." She got up and began following Dovis into the swampy terrain of the Mire, ready to fight for food.

Lexa slashed her claws out at an ostreatus bat, and landed heaving on the ground next to it. A splatter of blood marked the battles she and Liege had been through. But the Drowned Delinquents needed food, and as cruel as it may have sounded, a familiar would tide them over for the next while.
"Get anything?" Liege called, still trying to pry open the glittering geode he'd found in the last fight. Lexa scowled at him.
"I'm not finished the fight you bumbling mith. Come-" Her sentence was cut short as s second bat flew into her face. "Why you little!"
Liege batted it out of the sky with his claws. Lexa couldn't help but think he looked like a cat while doing it. Luckily, that was the last foe for that fight, and searching for any loot, they managed to uncover an unharmed ostreatus bat.
"You'll do perfect." Lexa couldn't help but feel a little sad- this cute little thing was sentenced to be dragon food. But she shrugged it off and motioned for Liege to follow her out of the cave.
-
Once they managed to get back to camp, the ostreatus bat had died. Obviously not used to sunlight. But they dropped it in the barren hole used for food and went to their separate tents in the camp. Until Lexa heard a yell of pain from an unfamiliar voice. Searching it out, she found Ayano hunched over a bloody mess. Upon closer inspection, this mess was a dragon, and the source of the yell.
"Ah, Lexa! This is Shortwing, he's been-"
"I need help. Food. Water. I can tend to my wounds, though." The skydancer spoke up. Lexa nodded in response and called over Joseff and Savanna. The two lifted Shortwing up and carried him, gently as possible, to the nearest tent. Lexa sent Ayano to find some food for the injured guest.
She followed the skydancer into the tent, and whilst providing him with the things he needed to tend to himself, she asked for his story.
"I was left in Harpy's Roost, where I found a group of dragons. Though we quickly ran out of food, meaning we had to progress to the next venue."
"The Ghostlight Ruins." Lexa nodded solemnly. That cursed place had a reputation.
"The webbing on my wings was ripped off. Quit fitting for my name if you ask me." His voice was muffled by bandages now, and he tried to let out a soft laugh but instead just grimaced in pain.
"Well, I'll leave you to tend to yourself. Ayano, the tundra that found you, should be here with food any minute now."
Lexa left without giving Shortwing a chance to thank her.

Amane was terrified. Her first steps through the Mire had ended in disaster- leaving her next to be limps. A hoard of croakers had torn her and her rations to pieces. Now she was almost at her destination, though the horror from that attack was still following her. Along with the trail of blood.
Emerging from the trees, she limped out into the sunlight and began to look around. There were tents- presumably made from kelpie and psywurm pelts- but no dragons. Until a white and blue guardian emerged from one.
"Hello." Her voice was guarded.
"Hi." It took everything for Amane not to burst into tears. Now that she was standing still, the slashes covering her body had begun stinging far worse.
The guardian looked Amane up and down, before turning around. Amane almost called out to her for help, until the blue dragon called behind her.
"Ayano!"
A small, blue and green tundra emerged from a separate tent.
"What can I do for you, Lexa?"
"How is Shortwing doing?"
"Alright. Why?" Ayano peered behind Lexa. "Does that imperial need help?"
Amane gave a wave, though flinched and quickly put her claw down.
Lexa nodded and thought for a moment. "Fetch him. Liege and Savanna too- we need some food."
Ayano gave a quick nod before disappearing into the mess of tents. Lexa turned to Amane, and gave her a smile. "Welcome to the Drowned Delinquents. I hope you enjoy your stay- or new life here."
Amane smiled back. She could tell she'd like it here.

Today had been boring so far for Lexa. At least as boring as life in the Coliseum could be, anyway. Shortwing had been feeling far better, meaning he was able to treat the shellion induced injuries Liege and Savanna had procured the other day.
Now Lexa was waiting. Waiting for something to happen- going into the swampy forests was far to risky, so she'd rather be bored in camp than dead in the depths of the Mire.
Until finally, a dragon emerged from the woods. Unharmed, which seemed quite unusual for encounters in the Mire. Though the obelisk that stood before Lexa had an air of superiority that was hard to ignore. It was only confirmed when she spoke.
"My name is Sunhill. I come from the Golem Workshop."
The Golem Workshop? How'd she managed to live? Let alone make it to the Mire? Lexa tried to keep her eyes from widening.
"Would you like to join the Drowned Delinquents? You seem like an excellent fighter, and we could sure use one of those."
Just as Sunhill opened her mouth to speak, a rustling sounded from behind her as a small goaler hatchling emerged from the trees. It came and sat next to Sunhill, who stared down at it with a slight sneer twitching her upper lip. "I do not know who's hatchling this is," the obelisk roughly pushed the poor thing towards Lexa, who instinctively stepped in front of it. "But I would like to join your organization. You're in charge, yes?"
Lexa nodded and motioned to the mess of tents behind her, insinuating Sunhill could choose one. But as the obelisk left, Lexa swore she could hear her mutter;
"Not for long."

DAY 5
It was quite in the clearing, save for the occasional smack of a tent flap blown in the breeze. Lexa stared around at her dragons, or really lack thereof- many were in their tents due to the rather chilly day.
Lexa sighed as she realized just how crowded everything was getting. when she had first put together her ragtag group with only four other dragons, the tents had been sparse- now that they'd grown to over ten members, space was limited. She stared out into the thick forests of the Mire that surrounded their little haven. Perhaps she could take some of it for her own? Not a bad idea.
So the guardian scrambled onto a nearby boulder before yelling for all to gather beneath her for an important announcement. Many dragons emerged from their tents bleary eyed and yawning.
Once everyone had gathered around, including little Odile, Lexa began to speak.
"I'm sure everyone has seen, we're rapidly running out of space. Our tents are nearly touching."
The crowd murmured in agreement.
"So in lieu of crowding the limited space we have further, I've decided- today is the day we take part of the Mire!"
Everyone cheered, those previously bleary eyed now brimming with excitement. So much so they hadn't noticed the white coatl standing in the back.
"Everyone, charge!" Lexa called, before delving into the forest herself. She felt a rush of pride as her dragons flooded through the forest, ready to take what was rightfully theirs. Though her mind was quickly side tracked as a duo of psywurms growled from in between the trees. The guardian lashed out at them, squeezing her eyes shut as blood spurted out from their furry little bodies. One cut though her scales with it's dying breath.
How noble. Lexa decided it'd be best to take a moment to appreciate these monsters' will to fight for what they believed in. Though her appreciation for their will was short lived as she heard the pained cry of a dragon. Following the noise, she realized she had been too late- Savanna was lying dead on the ground, his torso ripped up by what looked like podid claws. Joseff lay on top of him; the spiral had clearly been trying to protect him when another, or even the same podid had clawed her neck open. Lexa surveyed the area for the culprit but found nothing. Instead, she decided to recall her dragons.
"Retreat!" She screamed. The horror in her voice was echoed by the thundering footsteps of fleeing dragons.
Once finally out of the woods, Lexa did a headcount. Her stomach dropped. They had five less dragons than normal. Or, four? There seemed to be a new recruit in the form of a white coatl, who had begun to care for Odile whilst the dragons had fought in the woods. Regarless, the Drowned Delinquents had lost five dragons that day; Lexa mourned for Ayano in particular. The tundra had been so close to her. And now she'd never stand with Lexa again. But the loss of five dragons was major for everyone in the group.
Lexa couldn't help but realize she'd solved her space problem regardless.

Rageball didn't know how he'd ended up here. He'd seen so much- a forest set to permanently blaze, a collection of fascinating beaches make from sharp crystals (he'd had to learn that the hard way); even a haunted set of ruins that still made Rageball jump at every little sound. And yet, somehow, the Mire was the scariest out of all the other venues.
A rustle sounded ahead of him, so cautiously he continued- until he saw a skydancer throwing daggers at a tree. Rageball wasn't the best at reading facial expressions but he knew this dragon was angry. Evidenced by the dagger thrown at Rageball, which nicked a scale but nothing else. The guardian didn't blink an eye.
"Hello, name's Rageball." He held out a claw. The skydancer stared down at it with disgust.
"Mmm, a guardian. Just like that cursed Lexa." He murmured, before stabbing his remaining dagger into the tree and turned to Rageball, switching personalities in an instant. "Quite the interesting name, Rageball. Mine's Liege."
"Uh, who's Lexa?" Rageball set his claw down after being denied a shake.
"Just someone who has. . . something I want."
Rageball was beginning to grow annoyed at Liege's extravagant secrets. "What does she have that you don't?"
"Power." Liege wrapped a claw around the dagger in the tree and slowly pulled it out, before stabbing it deeper into the bark of the poor, cut up tree.
"Can't you just take it from her?"
Liege rolled his eyes, but then they went wide for a moment, as if he'd had an idea. "Perhaps you could come and help?"
"Oh sure, that sounds fun!" Rageball was delighted he'd gained a friend.

Trenton was lounging around camp. Odile had finally gone to sleep- the goaler wasn't much of a problem causer, but you can never be sure with hatchlings. Nevertheless, she loved the little thing like she was her own daughter.
Just then, a small voice came from out of nowhere and something gently tugged on one of the coatl's feathers. Looking down, a small wildclaw hatchling was stood there, just excited as he looked lost.
"Hello! My name's Maxson. What's yours?"
Trenton began to panic. What if Lexa didn't want another dragon here? Hadn't she just talked about space problems? But they couldn't refuse to take in the hatchling. So instead she whisked the little thing off to her tent, where Odile was still sleeping.
"This is where you're going to have to stay for a bit, okay, uh. . ."
"Maxson!" The little wildclaw was so bubbly.
"Right, Maxson. And remember to keep quite!" Trenton whispered. She couldn't help but smile as the little thing gave her a confident nod and smile before pretending to zip his mouth shut.

DAY 7
Lexa had a strange sense of power that day. Like she could do anything- even command her dragons to die for her. But she wouldn't do that, right?
She looked around the camp and realized something- some of her dragons weren't as talented at battle as her other lackeys. Such as Shortwing- or that new snapper. . . Bernhilde?
If she were to grow her domination over the Mire, surely she needed to have strong dragons. A little voice at the back of her head made itself known as Lexa stirred from her spot.
That's not what the Drowned Delinquents is about, and you know it. Plus, the dragons who supposedly need to train better are cooks, medics, child carers- they're essential to the survival of the group because they serve roles other than battle.
Lexa ignored the voice as she scrambled back onto that same boulder.
"All of my lowest level dragons, gather round! That's you, Trenton, Shortwing. . . yada yada yada, you know who you are."
Slowly, dragons began filing out of their tents, including that new snapper, Rageball, and Trenton- with Odile and another hatchling attached to her. Every dragons sat beneath the rock looked petrified.
"I need you all to become stronger. So- go into the forest and train until you've died or leveled up! And Trenton, don't bring the hatchlings."
Trenton shakily nodded before scooping the goaler and the wildclaw up, stashing them in a tent, and returning to the group of trembling dragons. Lexa stared at them for a moment before barking out;
"Go!"
They all flooded into the forest and Lexa laid her head down for a quick nap.
A scream awoke her- it sounded like Shortwing's. Looking up into the sky the sun had moved maybe a centimetre or two. Lexa sighed and slipped off her rock before entering the forest herself, only to see the dead bodies of Shortwing and Bernhilde laying limply in the reeds. A bloodthirsty scythe kamaitachi stood over them, staring at Lexa ravenously. The guardian slashed her claws at the kamaitachi, who ran off, leaving Lexa along with the weight of her poor decision. Now her dragons were without a medic or a chef.
"Retreat!" she yelled, before running out of the forest herself. Why did this happen to her so much.
Luckily, once all dragons were gathered beneath the rock, there were no more casualties- save for a few of Trenton's feathers being missing, and a cut on Rageball's head. Lexa only sighed and sent them back to their tents.
She was a bad leader.
