Coliborn representatives are avatars of their flight's element, spiritual children of the flight gods. Their eggs form from the merging of magical and elemental aethers at the culmination of great battles. Coliborn eggs are revered and cared for by the elders, mages, or priests of a liar that is lucky enough to find them.
Lairs that believe in the power of the Coliborn know that to hatch such powerful eggs to their full potential, certain conditions must be met.
First, craftsmen of the lair seek out remnants of the World Pillar from which to create wonderful elemental crests, one representing each of the flights. These crest crystals, once formed, go through a ritual that calls the element into them. However, they start out dim and lifeless.
It is believed that crafting these stones encourages the formation of Coliborn eggs during the lair's excursions. When one of these eggs is recovered, the corresponding crystal is set beside it in the nesting grounds. The crystal will faintly begin to glow as its elemental holiday approaches. This glow entices the egg to hatch and when the Coliborn emerges from the egg, it forms a bond with the crystal which ties its essence to that which lingers of the gods. Only then will the crystal shimmer with full splendor.
The Coliborn grow up during the week of their element's festival. As they grow, they are celebrated and honored by their lair, often being gifted with offerings that represent their element. At the end of the week, when they are matured, they officially become that lair's elemental avatar.
Coliborn are often irresistibly drawn towards the battlefields that birthed them. Those who follow this inclination and grow in the ways of combat find that they also grow closer to their own element and divinity. Those who reach their full potential are called the Awakened Coliborn and become demi-gods in their own rights, with the ability to command their elements to their hearts' content, thus offering their lair greater oneness with that element and protection.

During my Flameforger's Coliseum Challenge run, I found an unhatched arcane egg.

I put it into my vault and debated weather I would hatch it, sell it, or just hold on to it until some special date.
Then last night, I had a dream where it hatched into a gorgeous colored dragon that I used as my Arcane flight representative. When I woke up, I decided that- pretty or not- that was what I wanted to do with the egg. More than that though, I had the idea to get all my flight representatives as eggs from the coliseum that I will hatch, gene, clothe, etc. all with items I get from the coliseum or with funds I raise from my other coliseum finds.
I plan to only hatch the eggs on the first day of their element's next festival after I find the egg. That means that I'm all good for September, but if I don't find a plague egg before October 24th, then I'll have to wait a whole year before I hatch a plague rep! >:3

A quivering, unhatched arcane egg. It is glowing pink and violet with strange energies. An irregular thumping is coming from within.
