Soooo, I absolutely love Fodderlocke, it really is a great way to level, and extremely fun. I got to thinking that I might just reskin the criminal aspect for a court intrigue aspect since my main lair types are pretty naughty already. It’s pretty much the same rules with different wording and an optional new mechanic. Original Fodderlocke greatness is here by the incomparable squidragon (who has generously given their blessing for me to reskin their challenge for essentially my lore purposes!).

Setting Up
First, we select our monarch, the founder of our royal court.
Buy yourself the cheapest adult dragon off the auction house. Congratulations, they are now royalty.
Level that dragon to 8. As the monarch, they are wise and elevated above their peers. Perhaps they are a warrior king/queen. Perhaps they have inherited the right to rule. They must stand apart. Putting some sort of designating apparel of regality on this dragon is encouraged. A crown, a robe, something to set them apart when they mingle with the commoners.
If any dragon ever passes them in level, that dragon becomes the monarch. The crown is passed and the old monarch must be exalted.
Your monarch needs an entourage! Get four more adult dragons off of the AH and level them to 6.
Optional: Give these four dragons royal titles: Duke, Marquess, Count, Baron. If any of these four dragons is up for exaltation, they instead get demoted to knight first and scrape by.

Royal Duties
Phase 1 > > >
Buy the two cheapest adult dragons off the auction house. These are your potential knights of the realm!
Level them to 6 any way you see fit.
Roll a 6-sided die for each. If you get a 6, the dragon has been deemed royal enough to join the court as a knight of the realm.
If a dragon fails, it shall be exalted. Perhaps it was not fit for royal company?
Optional: If you roll a 1, the dragon may stay on as the court jester. If your court has a jester, this dragon will be automatically selected for any rolls in Phase 2 that result in exaltation of a dragon.
Keep at this until you have admitted at least one knight into the peerage.
Phase 2 > > >
Ever watch Game of Thrones or The Crown? Or really anything that has to do with schemes and court intrigue? So much goes on from day to day that you won’t be short on pageantry and drama. Here are your happenings.
Roll a 12-sided die. Your next challenge is as follows:
1.Grow the nobility. Choose two of your ready to breed dragons at random if you have any compatible for the task. Nest them. The children will join the ranks of the nobility when they hatch. Level them to 5 when they come of age. If the parents would be exalted while they’re on the nest, exalt them once the nest hatches out. If nobody is able to breed, grab a random baby off the AH. A secret forbidden child or sibling has been uncovered. Scandal!
2. An allianceis made. Choose two dragons at random. They have formed an alliance (the sort of which is up to you!). If one is set to be exalted, the other must be as well. That is the way of the pact.
3.Find a page Take any two of your dragons into a coli venue that is too low for them to gain experience. (Your choice). Go until you get a familiar drop.
Alternate Trip Variation (based on suggestion by Alphazi) Roll 1d4:
1) Hire a page (Look for a familiar)
2) Gather coin (Look for a chest or other openable)
3) Strengthen the royal army (Look for a battlestone)
4) Garb the peerage (Look for an apparel item)
4.Pretender to the throne A nobody marches into the realm and loudly lays claim to the kingdom. Grab the cheapest adult off the AH. Leave them at level 1, see if they can survive the waters of court.
5.Social climbing: Pick two dragons at random. They will now try to rise above their station in court. Raise both of them a level. Roll a 6-sided die for each. If it’s a 1, exalt them as they presumed too much and became a danger to themselves. Optional: If they survive and do not already have one, give them a royal title.
6.Social climbing: Pick two dragons at random. They will now try to rise above their station in court. Raise both of them a level. Roll a 6-sided die for each. If it’s a 1, exalt them as they presumed too much and became a danger to themselves. Optional: If they survive and do not already have one, give them a royal title.
7.Social climbing: Pick two dragons at random. They will now try to rise above their station in court. Raise both of them a level. Roll a 6-sided die for each. If it’s a 1, exalt them as they presumed too much and became a danger to themselves. Optional: If they survive and do not already have one, give them a royal title.
8.Well met, squire: Buy the cheapest hatchling on the AH, level them to 5 when they come of age.
9.Backstabbing. Disloyalty and rumors have permeated the court. Choose a random dragon who is not the monarch and exalt them.
If you have a court jester, the jester is automatically the one exalted in this instance. Being funny has a price.
Alternate Honorable Duel Option (inspired by suggestion by TheAwesoMew): Flip a coin, if heads, take two random not-monarch dragons into the coli and exalt whoever faints first. If tails, do the backstabbing as above.
10:Trial by Combat: Roll a d10 for each of your lowest-level dragons. If it’s higher than their level, exalt them. They are not fit to be knights of the realm. Raise anyone who made it one level. Optional: If they do not already have one, give the survivors a royal title.
11. Court Upheval!! A war, a silent coup, something has been afoot in your court and it has all come to a head! Roll a d12 for each dragon. If you get higher than their level, exalt. Raise all survivors by one level. Optional: Give royal titles to any survivors who do not have them.
Alternate Safer Option: Flip a coin. Heads? You managed to talk your way out of banishment! Instead of getting exalted on the failed roll above, they simply don't gain a level. Tails? Exalt as above.
12. A coup! Dethrone and exalt the monarch. They have been betrayed by their underlings or banished by unrest in the realm. To keep from there being a power vacuum, you must crown a new leader. The highest level dragon still remaining shall become the new monarch. If there is a tie, the wisest (read:oldest) tied dragon shall wear the crown. Raise the tied dragon a level to remain the most powerful in the peerage.
Inheritance rule : If your monarch has children who are in the court at the time of the monarch's departure, the oldest of those children automatically becomes the new monarch, even if they are still a hatchling. When this child comes of age, raise them to a level above everyone else so that they may properly ascend the throne.
After you finish your dramatic challenge, go back to the knighting stage (either the next day or immediately or whenever you want) and go again. Keep whatever pace you want.
Detail your court’s activities and schemes, it’s bound to be very juicy!
Bonus Rules
Some fun things to do with special coli drops. If you get any of the following while training, grant the following effects to your members who were in the coli with the trainer at the time.
Eliminate: Oh, bad luck. Exalt both of them.
Gene: Good luck! Give a royal title to each dragon so that they may be spared once in the future from banishment
Egg: This could be the future of a whole new dynasty! Either hatch and replace the current monarch with this newcomer, or keep peace in your kingdom by adding three of the cheapest auction house babies to your court (leveling them to five when they come of age) and taking the threat far far away.
Rally: The current party is motivated! If they would have to roll as to whether or not they'll get exalted at the end of this coli event, they automatically succeed and return safely to the realm.
Ambush: Randomly choose one of the dragons in the current coli party. They have allegiances that conflict with their royal duties and abscond. Immediately refresh, remove them, and replace them with a random other dragon.
The royal title mechanic can be good if you just don’t have the heart to exalt someone when their number is up. It’s also a fun way to spread dissention in the court! The only dragon not spared by the title mechanic is the monarch, but they’re spared just about every other way.
If you have a dragon make it to 25 from this challenge, they become the Unquestioned Lord and Monarch of the Universe. Congrats!
