The 'buy no dragon' legacy challenge by Sommar is a twist on the classic legacy challenge.
Buy a pair of ungened dragons to be your 'progens' for this challenge.
Decide how many pairs you want to achieve as your challenge's goal.
Breed your progens.
Now, you need more dragons to get mates for your hatchlings, but you cannot buy (or otherwise receive) dragons from other users. There are only two ways to get the mates you need: unhatched eggs, or from Roundsey. You must find the eggs yourself somehow, no buying or trading for other users. Get in the coliseum and start scavenging.
Your goal is to fill up your selected number of slots with fully gened, mated pairs of dragons. Have fun!
My challenge is themed around the alphabet. I'm aiming for 13 pairs of consecutively named dragons until all 26 letters are represented. Which means I need to collect 12 eggs to complete the pairs.
However, this is straying further from a traditional legacy challenge in that no heirs are chosen. Family is important. All dragons in the first clutch count so it'll probably only be a few generations long. I'll figure out what to do with any excess dragons in the final clutch once I get to it.
All dragons will reach level 25. Stones and tinctures can come from my stores and be bought freely.
All dragons will be gened. Only one coli gene per dragon is allowed, but I can't use any genes I already have in my hoard. Unless the hatched breed fits them perfectly, they will also get a breed change.
No gem breeds or gem genes. No ancients either.
Treasure for the genes may only come from exalting the family's own offspring, selling stuff from the coli, or opening coli chests.
Each dragon may have one familiar. Contents of the chests from bonding with those familiars may be added to the family's genes fund.

A murky, swampy egg that is pulsating with a strange purple glow. The egg feels as though it might just be full of fluid, but now and again, a dark form can be seen moving within.

Now for the updates.
Audrey and Bertrand are nesting a clutch of 2 eggs.
They are currently training in the Mire and have reached level 15.
I have opened Waterlogged Trunk X4 gaining 800t.
I found a Morph while training today, so Bertrand has a gene ready to apply once he gets off his nest.
Not a bad start.
