(groan) I posted my submission for day 5 during the rollover shutdown. Since rollover is at 2am in my time zone, I couldn't even remember my original first line. Been frustratedly trying to rewrite it since then, and it kind of messed up the rest of my weekend.

I'm super disappointed that I didn't get to finish the event, but I had fun up until that point! I'd love to know if you ever run a similar one.

Day 7: theme - time to party

Jailhouse Rock parody

The carver made a guitar out of gourd and guts
The hatchie made maracas with a bunch of nuts
A colddrake touched some leaves and they started to chime
A sculptor strung a harp with living vines

Rock Dad’s Rockin’ Partay

Earthdad had a dream ‘bout a celebration,
Where for a time sadness would face cessation,
Where all flights from far and wide will gather for fun,
Where all the food and games can’t be outdone!

There will be a big coli scavenger hunt,
Where lots of beast clan bosses we will confront!
There will be dress-up and other contests galore,
And of course sales of art, food, badges and more!

This contest was a lot of fun, it took way more time than I expected to rewrite songs but after the first few days seemed I got used to it and it was easier and faster :) Thanks for running this!

The judging is finished! Thanks to everyone who entered, this was some amazing work and judging was definitely not easy! I decided to drop the minimum amount of entries for getting a prize from 5 to 4, didn't realize it was thanksgivings over in the USA and people would be busier than usual. But of course, the people who wrote the most entries got the most points. I also had an issue because I had chosen prizes based on the (I realize now very optimistic, but hey, it's my first time) assumption that 20 people would be actively participating. The idea was that everyone would be a prize, of course, but not everyone should get a high value prize, otherwise what's the point of a competition? But I don't want to change the actual prizes, since they were announced in advance. What I did was, in two cases, merge prizes, so that Ehrde also has her [s]lute[/s] guitar and the two gryphlets come together, and in many cases I offered alternative prizes. It means that the same things are still available, but if someone who placed higher than you chose the "Angelic" lot, you won't be able to get the "Songbook". I hope my decision is understandable and won't cause too much disappointment.
