These smaller, less-imposing creatures are routinely seen in large groups flanking a single dreadram -who is itself a rare and buffed out mutation of the species.
Of particular interest in its gemstone form, chrysoberyl is one of the Ashfall Waste's biggest export materials. Large and consistent quantities of this mineral are created by the constant expansion of the Blacksand Annex.
Shellbugs are shy and require patience and kind words to encourage them to come out of their shell; luckily, for impatient dragons, the shell is also edible.
Strips of forest green material cut so that they may easily wrap around a dragons winglimbs. These look flexible enough to not restrict flight, if necessary.

So for example in the Sandswept Delta, where there are 15 unique enemies, I need to collect 172 to have a 'stack', whereas in Boreal Wood, where there are 30 unique enemies, I only need to collect 86.

Ever since I was about halfway through the long drop I wanted to do another round. With waaaaaay less recording of 'exciting' drops. And doing something about the weird swinginess of spending just a couple of hours in some venues and several days in others.
So I'm assembling an expanded ruleset for round two:
Pace Yourself - Instead of just the first item, it's the first food item and the first common/uncommon Material/Other item. This helps to avoid blitzing through a venue you enjoy just 'cause you got a super common food drop.
Second Chances - If a venue with Eliminates and Bosses doesn't drop an Eliminate, Boss or Egg, it goes back onto the to-do list (maybe just the once though, we'll see). This is because I am greedy.
You Look Familiar - Scale the definition of a 'stack' to the number of enemies in a venue - fewer enemies, better chance of getting your drop in a given fight, so more of them needed. This is because I don't actually remember being in the Sandswept Delta last time I did Long Drop.
Pick'n'Mix - Mix up and record which dragons I'm using for each venue! This is to justify my ridiculous level 25 collection.
High Standards - Only recording Eggs, Boss Familiars and Genuinely Exciting Battlestones. This is because I am lazy.
