What do you like most about the site? Anything you like! Entry: Howdy! I'm splatter, and I've been on flight rising for a little while now- but I still consider myself to be a bit new! This will be my second Greenskeeper festival and as a member of the nature flight I couldn't be more excited for it! It should include your user name, user ID, and the year. But, you can include any other personalization you like. Show it off! Ping a friend or two that might like to join in the gaming! Entry: I have a feeling that @CaTYstrophe will enjoy this game -------------------------- Challenge: #4 - Bring a game to the table. Show us a game from your collection! Oh, I can't wait to get to the picture taking~! Until then, here's most of the ones that don't need a picture. Now, to get some sleep (don't be like me: Go to sleep before midnight, saplings and germs~!). Username: ClockworkEclipse Challenge: I'll update as I go if that's alright~! I'll light up completed challenges so it's easy to track (hurray for FR emojis based on G&G)~! Convention check-in: [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#1 - Introduce yourself! - 5 points Well hello there~! ClockworkEclipse here. I've been here since late 2014, right during the first NotN, and I've been in the Plague flight since day one. I'm absolutely in love with the community, especially it's creativity~! That, and how accommodating people can be here. When it's difficult to go out during the Nature festival, here we are with a scavenger hunt for the introverts! Well, mostly. Anyways, I love being here, and I hope to collect my pixel children for as long as I can~ [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#2 - Create your nametag - 5 points [s]Spent a whole day looking for my drawing pens so I could ink this, so oh well. We get pencil for this one. Also, say hi to Voiken~! Gonna get some pictures with the card soon.[/s] Guess who found her inking pens? Say hello to an easier to read card~! Now, to get some pictures. Gonna have more when there's light out. Once again, say hello to Voiken~! [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#3 - Bring a friend! - 5 points I'll slash between the UN and the ping itself when I update next, but @/Stormchi you might like this~! [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#4 - Bring a game to the table. - 10 points Cue one of my favorites~! [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#5 - Leaf - 10 points Got some leaves with these flowers here, but got a separate image for the flowers~ [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#6 - Branch or tree - 10 points Got two pictures because my camera didn't wanna focus. One has a focus on my card, and the other has a focus on the tree and the shed in my backyard, so that should be proof enough that this is me? Card's out of focus in the one with the focused tree. [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#7 - Flower - 10 points Got a flower that isn't wilting (even if their friends are, oof)~! Between my family and the pets, we tend to always be missing at least on piece. Anyway, here's an oldie but a goodie~! 300 piece set, and still fun to put together~! You can still kinda see the Fae in my picture, I think, on my card. I haven't even printed out their player sheets yet, and already one of them has a favorite class! Just don't freeze the book, buddy. That's the player's handbook you'll be referencing while we go along~! [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#45 - Best ever - 20 points Well, my favorite game would happen to be this one. I may still be trying to get things pulled together for a real life party of D&D players, but this game is fun to practice the mechanics with. The scenarios can be quite interesting as well depending on the luck of the roll. I haven't been able to play it often since the lockdown, but when I do play, I practice voices, dramatic narrator voices, and even little things to add atmosphere for the other players. I'd love to be a DM someday, so that certainly helps. And it's different every time you run through, even if the second half happens to be the same. The house is always different every time you go up on the hill~! [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#46 - Playing outdoors - 30 points Would racing your brother down the street on your bike count as playing outdoors? Because while we used to have a pool and an old playset, this might honestly be the only thing we ever do outdoors anymore. Y'know, besides going out to hunt for Pokemon in Pokemon Go (safely of course). If not, let me know~! Also took the picture indoors because it just started raining, and I'd rather not damage my card by soaking it today. XD [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#47 - Nature's game board - 20 points Once again, you'll have to zoom in on the image in another tab, but the card's still there. I'd normally use sticks, twigs, and stones to make a game board, but somebody cleared up the broken sticks in the backyard, so I had to improvise on the patio with chalk. Still fun~! [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#48 - Flight Rising Games - 20 points Well, here's an example of one I love to see popping up in the forums every now and then. Someone will start to write a story, then present options. The op will give people time to vote on an option, then go forth with the choice that garnered the most votes. This way, people write a story together~! And if they incorporate a game over, they'll go back to the last choice so the story can continue if they want to. I've been wanting to do my own CYOA for a while now, and I'm still working out the bugs, but I hope in the end many people enjoy it~! [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#49 - Be a game critic. - 30 points I'm going to go with a favorite videogame of mine: Super Smash Bros Brawl. Now, on the Wii, this game can be played in either a story mode or just a straight out brawl. With tourney mode, you can have up to 32 players (swapped out with 4 per round, of course). Since I never had so many friends offline, I often played against my brother (and my skill in the game is why I found myself playing solo shortly afterwards). The choices were widely varied, and it was always fun to find myself pitted against a bunch of Links or Lucario fighting Peach. One thing that stood out to me was the two-player story mode. My brother and I always had to swap when playing a story-based single-player game because, of course, we both wanted to play as soon as we saw the screen. To be able to play together, running through the story, was something we'd never experienced before (specifically working as a team instead of fighting each other). Our love of other games (Kid Icarus Uprising, the Mario series, myself with Legend of Zelda and more) made the experience even more fun~! All in all, it was definitely a fun game, and if my Switch weren't partially broken, I'd be playing Ultimate right now. Now, if only my brother had a switch so we didn't have to share joycons. XD [emoji=glimmer tile size=1]#50 - Make a game! - 50 points So, mine's kind of a spin on an existing card game (aka add magnets and a fishing rod, and you have a fun game to play). The problem? My magnet supply has greatly diminished, and I apparently don't have fishing wire like I thought I did. So, plan b is playing pretend that all the cards are like the ones in the pic, and the magnet in my hand is actually on a fishing lure. The game? Old Mermaid. It's like Old Maid, but you lay out your cards face-down and let the other players "fish" for their cards. If they get the Joker, they have the Old Mermaid. The added twist is that other players can bat at the line without grabbing it, so the card choice may not always be a choice. More like a claw machine. If they can't get a card (somehow), then they just threw a bad line and it's the next player's turn. Simply put, you go fishing for the Old Mermaid, and hope you aren't the unlucky fisherman who reels in the elderly mermaid while the others brag about their finer catches~ Alternate name is Call of the Siren, and you're catching the Siren instead.
Oh, I can't wait to get to the picture taking~! Until then, here's most of the ones that don't need a picture. Now, to get some sleep (don't be like me: Go to sleep before midnight, saplings and germs~!).

Username: ClockworkEclipse

Challenge: I'll update as I go if that's alright~! I'll light up completed challenges so it's easy to track (hurray for FR emojis based on G&G)~!
Convention check-in:

#1 - Introduce yourself! - 5 points
Well hello there~! Anyways, I love being here, and I hope to collect my pixel children for as long as I can~

#2 - Create your nametag - 5 points
Spent a whole day looking for my drawing pens so I could ink this, so oh well. We get pencil for this one. Also, say hi to Voiken~! Gonna get some pictures with the card soon. Guess who found her inking pens? Say hello to an easier to read card~! Now, to get some pictures. Gonna have more when there's light out. Once again, say hello to Voiken~!

Well, my favorite game would happen to be this one.

#46 - Playing outdoors - 30 points
Would racing your brother down the street on your bike count as playing outdoors? Because while we used to have a pool and an old playset, this might honestly be the only thing we ever do outdoors anymore. Y'know, besides going out to hunt for Pokemon in Pokemon Go (safely of course). If not, let me know~! Also took the picture indoors because it just started raining, and I'd rather not damage my card by soaking it today. XD

#47 - Nature's game board - 20 points
Once again, you'll have to zoom in on the image in another tab, but the card's still there. I'd normally use sticks, twigs, and stones to make a game board, but somebody cleared up the broken sticks in the backyard, so I had to improvise on the patio with chalk. Still fun~!

#48 - Flight Rising Games - 20 points
Well, here's an example of one I love to see popping up in the forums every now and then.

#49 - Be a game critic. - 30 points
I'm going to go with a favorite videogame of mine: Super Smash Bros Brawl. XD

#50 - Make a game! - 50 points
So, mine's kind of a spin on an existing card game (aka add magnets and a fishing rod, and you have a fun game to play).

One game that I do find particularly excellent is Lords of Waterdeep. It is based on Dungeons and Dragons, but you don't need to be into role-play games or even be familiar with the story to play. The rules are fairly straightforward and players that are relatively new to gaming have been able to grasp it and do well. However, there is plenty of higher strategy, and it doesn't seem to get old for more experienced players either. #46 - Playing outdoors - 30 points Tether ball is an old favorite. You need a ball on a rope and a post to attach it to where it is able to go all the way around. Each player tries to hit it in one direction to get it past their opponent while blocking it from getting past them. Each time it gets past someone, it wraps around the pole making the rope shorter until it ultimately ends up completely wrapped around the post. The weather has not been cooperative, so it was in for a good washing... #47 - Nature's game board - 20 points All you need for this classic game is a moderately smooth surface and a piece of chalk (or a stick to draw in dirt or sand). They area can be as big as you want. It just depends how much patience you have for drawing dots! Players take turns making one line. If you manage to close in a box, you add your initial and then draw another line. Play continues until all boxes are claimed, and then you see who managed to get the most. We each used a different color chalk, but it really isn't necessary. #48 - Flight Rising Games - 20 points This is one that I run! Choose your lucky egg! One player offers up eggs from their nests. Players claim an egg and then receive that hatchling when the nests are hatched. The host gives one player a familiar, and that person will host the next round. Pretty simple, but it is fun to see what you get, and it is a nice way to get fresh dragons in your lair for breeding. https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/forga/2744184/1#post_2744184 #49 - Be a game critic. - 30 points I will review Khronos. The idea behind this game is really intriguing. You have a three-part player board where each portion represents a different era in time. Your players are time travellers that can move between all three. When you build a structure in the past, it creates a building in the present and a ruin in the future (which can be restored). Unfortunately, when it comes to actually playing through the game, I think it falls short. There are too many possibilities that come up that don't seem to be covered in the rules - at least not the original rules when I first tried the game. We constantly found ourselves in situations that hadn't been anticipated fully. In a later play-through, we we able to find many of these covered in questions & answers posted on boardgamegeek.com. However, many of the solutions seemed somewhat arbitrary. They needed to make a decision as different scenarios developed, but there was no consistent logic. So, for something that seemed so promising, it is one of the few games that I found (in my own opinion) disappointing. #50 - Make a game! - 50 points We made the base and the caps to use with "ice dice" in order to play a game called Volcano. You move the caps around the pieces until an eruption is triggered. Then you get to claim any pieces that land on another of the same size. The goal is to collect three sets with all three sizes in the same color, or five sets with mixed colors. There is a sample play-through here

A new one just arrived as well, so if we get that one done, I will also post it here.

"Garden Song" by John Denver

Inch by inch, row by row, gonna make this garden grow
All it takes is a rake and a hoe and a piece of fertile ground
Inch by inch, row by row, someone bless these seeds I sow
Someone warm them from below, 'til the rain comes tumbling down

Pulling weeds and picking stones, man is made of dreams and bones
Feel the need to grow my own 'cause the time is close at hand
Grain for grain, sun and rain, find my way in nature's chain
Tune my body and my brain to the music of the land

Plant your rows straight and long, temper than with prayer and song
Mother Earth will make you strong if you give her love and care
Old crow watching hungrily, from his perch in yonder tree
In my garden I'm as free as that feathered thief up there

Inch by inch, row by row, gonna make this garden grow
All it takes is a rake and a hoe and a piece of fertile ground
Inch by inch, row by row, someone bless these seeds I sow
Someone warm them from below, 'til the rain comes tumbling down

That is a really difficuly choice, because much of the fun comes from trying a variety of different games.

Tether ball is an old favorite.

All you need for this classic game is a moderately smooth surface and a piece of chalk (or a stick to draw in dirt or sand).

This is one that I run!

I will review Khronos.
The idea behind this game is really intriguing. You have a three-part player board where each portion represents a different era in time. Your players are time travellers that can move between all three. When you build a structure in the past, it creates a building in the present and a ruin in the future (which can be restored).
pic150446.jpg

We made the base and the caps to use with "ice dice" in order to play a game called Volcano. You move the caps around the pieces until an eruption is triggered. Then you get to claim any pieces that land on another of the same size. The goal is to collect three sets with all three sizes in the same color, or five sets with mixed colors.

There is a sample play-through here

#49: Be a game critic Night in the Woods isn't a board game but it is an AWESOME game about mystery and cults and how scary and unpredictable life can be. The characters are all anthropomorphic but at the same time they are SO human - the development is so good. The game touches on some deep subjects, such as mental health, death, how scary it can be to grow up, and even the way that modern corporate can affect smaller businesses and less well-off people. It has made me laugh and cry and I've played it a good five times now, and there are a lot of fun minigames and side characters to explore that give it a great replay value- you can explore the main story the first playthrough, then explore all the little secrets and nooks and crannies in your next few! I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a darker story, likes to play games over and over, and likes a decent amount of gameplay, the average being 8-24 hours. In this one, you and your friends play dragons (or maybe a series of mythical creatures?) who must survive. As you go around the board, challenge cards will be thrown your way that you must survive using the skills and powers that you develop and earn over the course of the game, from scavenging and self defense to flying and magical breath! You start as a hatchling and end the game as an elder or king, and whether or not you help your coplayers or try to take them down is up to you. Multiple players are capable of winning, or you can try and come out on top!

Howdy! I'm Cowboy, or Marty! I used to be in the Nature flight (sorry y'all) but ended up joining Lightning because it felt more my speed and I needed something fresh after a long hiatus. My favorite part of FR is doing dom and leveling fodder, but I also really enjoy scrying dragons and playing forum games with people!

One great board game, if you like sci-fi and games like Werewolf, is Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game, where you play as one of the characters of the show and have to work through various obstacles to keep humanity safe. However, at least one player is also sided with the Cylons, who are robots at war with humanity, and must sabotage the crew without being caught and exiled.
You can check it out on BGG here.

Night in the Woods isn't a board game but it is an AWESOME game about mystery and cults and how scary and unpredictable life can be. [s]There was also one time I broke the ticket dispenser for one of them (still don't know how I did it) but shhhhhh[/s] Materials: Games and their components can be made out of so many things! A nostalgic game that's one of the very first ones I've ever played! I'm not sure if board games state the year they came out or the year that specific box was made, but our Trouble board says 2002 on it if that amounts to anything. #24 - Metal - 10 points We have a really weird version of classic Monopoly with bizarre player tokens. For example, this is the T-rex token! Other weird ones include a rubber duck and a penguin in this same box. #25 - Paper/Cardboard - 10 points And we're back to Quelf! I can't explain this entire game briefly, but it's one of the most bizarre games I've played to this day. This is one of the character tokens by the name of Queen Spatula. There's others like Super Banana Monkey, The Dude, and Biscuit Farmer as well. It's a typical race to the finish sort of game, but what you end up doing throughout is hilarious. There's five types of cards, but the main two I remember are the rule cards and the action cards. The rule cards normally only applied to the person who drew them, and were always hilarious, like wearing your pants inside out for the rest of the game or shouting "I need my pills!" (it was something like that) every time you took a drink. Action cards could be akin to charades, or you having to act out something weird and being judged by fellow players as to how well you pulled it off. While it was embarrassing for me, that sort of feeling was always relieved by the fact friends and family were also suspect to the same types of things. Textures: Have you ever had a fidget toy? Different textures can appeal in different ways. Find something for each of the following. #26 - Soft/Fuzzy/Furry - 10 points A little sheep plushie of mine! It's really soft and I love to hold it when stressed. She's a little critter I picked up at GenCon ages ago, and while she may not look squishy, she does have it I promise. I don't really squeeze her much, but I do enjoy wrapping her around stuff! #29 - Bumpy - 10 points I don't feel bad at all about bragging about owning a metal pomegranate. It's easily one of the strangest things I own, and is a gift my boyfriend got me when he came back from a trip to Greece! It's got some weight to it, and I love moving my fingers along the little bumps and divots. Colors (or Colours!): What would a game be without color? You need different colors for each player, colorful boards, different color "resources" or bits. What can you find to represent each? Dinosaur time! I went through my collection of small plastic dinosaurs to see if I could find one for each of these colors! If one doesn't apply, let me know and I'll see if I can switch it out for one that matches a little better. Yes, I know not all of these are dinosaurs, but they are all at least prehistoric animals. I'm sure they can work together to help play a game! #45 - Best ever - 20 points (no photo needed) Describe one of you most favorite games and why you like it. Look it up on BoardGameGeek and share the link. Probably my favorite board games I've played is one called Pandemic. A friend of mine owned the game and therefor introduced me to it. It's one of the only games I've played where you're acting as a team throughout the entire game. I'd recommend it for groups that maybe don't want or don't like to get too competitive (such as myself) since the "enemy" is essentially an NPC you're all working to take down together. The goal of the game is to stop the spread of an illness before it infects too much of the populace (represented by well-known population centers of the world, like London). Depending on how many people are playing, and a little luck, the game can be really easy or really difficult. I've seen a few games of this where the group won on the very last turn they could have. I believe there's also a way to increase the difficulty of the game right at the start, but I can't remember if that was in the vanilla game or one of its expansions. #46 - Playing outdoors - 30 points Okay, I wish I could get a picture of this, but the weather has been poor and it's dampened the moods of everyone so I can't unless you want a picture taken from the garage. Okay, so my family loves cornhole. I love it too, but they're always so competitive I stop having fun so I usually watch. The materials are simple. Two slanted (preferably wooden) boards with holes cut out towards the top, four beanbags of two different colors, and a scoreboard (or scorekeeper). You can find these at general supermarkets like Walmart, but from my family's experience, you're better off buying wooden ones online. The boards often found in these places break easily (board and beanbags both fall under this) or the boards not handle the beanbags hitting them very well. The latter is a problem that comes about in the gameplay. So, how to play. First, you need either 2 or 4 people, and then split into two teams. I'm going to be describing this as played with four people, since that's more common in my family. You can play with 3 or more than 4 people, but that involves switching out players every other round and I want to avoid making this super complicated. First, you need to get a good distance between the two boards you use. My family uses what I believe is 15-20 feet apart, but it's been a while. Make sure they are on a level surface, and if possible, mark where the legs are at. The boards will move due to the beanbags, so it's good to have a point to reset them between rounds of throwing. Now, players stand on opposite sides of one of the boards and take turns throwing beanbags until there are no more to be thrown. The teammate for each team (in a game of 4) stands diagonally opposite of their partner. In a game of 2, players switch sides each time, standing diagonally opposite as if they have a teammate. Next, scoring. A beanbag on the board is worth 1 point while each that makes it in the hole is 3. However, points only count for a team if they score more than their opponent each round. For example, if both teams only get one beanbag on the board, no points are counted to either team. If the Red team get a beanbag in the hole and the Blue team gets a beanbag on the board, the Red team scores two points. There are a couple win conditions to cornhole. The first is the first to 21 wins. Sometimes this has an extra rule attached that it's the first to 21, but only if there is a point gap of over 2 between the teams. If that goal isn't met, then it's the first team to gain a lead of more than 2. A second way to win (at least in my family), is if one team gets an 11-points before the other team can score a single point. This doesn't apply if one team gains this sort of lead anytime else in the game. I don't know why this is, since it rarely comes up when any of us play. #47 - Nature's game board - 20 points What is a game can that you play by drawing or placing things on the ground? Take a picture! #48 - Flight Rising Games - 20 points (no photo needed) Share a link to a Flight-Rising forum game! How do you play? #49 - Be a game critic. - 30 points (no photo needed) Write a game review! Tell us about a game that you really enjoy and why. Or likewise, tell us about a game that you thought really fell short of being fun, and describe its shortcomings. Who would be the target group of people for this game? How many people can play? How long does it take? What would make it better? If you're really feeling ambitious, take notes as you play through it. #50 - Make a game! - 50 points The name of the game is Gold and Glory, and the goal is to save a kingdom from the imminent threat of a dragon that's awakened from its slumber. The goal is to slay the awakened dragon before it destroys three of the six towns or the city. You collect Gold and Glory to buy Equipment and upgrade your stats. You can choose to work together with other players or not. Board is a randomized hex with six different basic ground tiles, the town tiles, and the spawn tiles. Here's a basic idea of the types of cards the game would have: And here's some figurines to serve as representations of the dragons you would try to stop: I do have some more detailed rules down, such as what each tile is or does, as well as basic mechanics for each dragon. If you'd like, I can copy-paste what I've come up with so far! [s]I may be seriously considering making this a full game but I'm not that good at art and have no access to anything digital.[/s]

@Galehaut
I think you'll really love this!

Also, side note: I may end up walking places to get pics and my sister may join me for those! She doesn't play FR, but she does join me for things like this from time to time.

#4 - Bring a game to the table. - 10 points

I've recently been playing Spectrobes again because I was missing it, so that's what I'm showing off for this!

You didn't think you would get in for free did you? Of course, this being a Nature event, the payment required is a bit unusual. Find each of the following items to show your Nature spirit!

#5 - Leaf - 10 points

One of our plants out in the front yard's flowerbed!

#6 - Branch or tree - 10 points

Probably the worst angle possible, but this is our Japanese Maple!

#7 - Flower - 10 points
f4WldMd.jpg
We just got these flowers! I don't know what they are since I wasn't home at the time, but I love them.

#8 - Rock - 10 points
7lxmJX6.jpg
This is a piece of pyrite I found while walking a little trail in the subdivision I live in.

#9 - Dirt/Soil - 10 points
4X1v4Zu.jpg
Dirt from my sister's garden! I'm hoping it does good this year.

#10 - A cloud - 10 points
dgYKdPx.jpg
Hope a storm front counts! Was getting very angry at the weather being the way it has.

So, I took that a couple days ago because it's still been mostly overcast. The two days it wasn't the first was a day where family and friends were hanging out, and the second was overcast until around sunset.

#11 - An animal - 10 points
waqkk1J.jpg
As with the clouds, all the times an interesting non-pet animal has been present, I've either been absent or it was raining. So, here's our manx Stormy! She's one of two cats that actually doesn't mind me putting stuff like the card on her (the other being Flash).

#12 - Who will be representing your lair? - 5 points
Not my best Nature themed dragon, but Mendel is my clan Botanist, and will be representing my lair for this!

Find the following.

#13 - A card - 10 points

Any time I have the chance, I will always show this off. It's a little preorder bonus for something I bought for my birthday.

#14 - Dice - 10 points
Ms5di95.jpg
Most of my miniature dice, plus two I got for going to Gencon!

#15 - A puzzle piece - 10 points
BmKWiJR.jpg
Here's a corner and edge being used as a sneak peak for when I finish the puzzle they're a part of!

#16 - A game player marker - 10 points
W5AfAgQ.jpg
Three of the six pieces used in the Pokemon version of Monopoly! I took these for myself after someone spilled a large glass of soda over pretty much the entire board. Sad I couldn't find the rest of them, but I'm happy I still have a couple!

#17 - A timer - 10 points
kLKelPG.jpg
Timer from our absolutely bizarre board game Quelf! I'll talk about it a little later.

#18 - Something that rolls - 10 points
aSTHZo1.jpg
t54VYCl.jpg
It's a Bakugan! This one is specifically one of the Decagan ones they released, and is ten times the size of a normal one! I don't know the Dragonoid variant's name, but I do know that it's element is Subterra.

#19 - Snacks - 10 points
qwx8ufa.jpg
Grabbed these as a snack today! I usually eat some kind of chip for a snack. Unless we have fruit snacks. Those take priority any time they are present.

#20 - Beverage - 10 points
x2K2k5h.jpg
I love Yoohoo. I don't know why, but I do.

#21 - Game currency - 10 points
VF58tmY.jpg
A couple Arcade tokens! As per usual arcade fashion, you use these to "buy" a round in an arcade game! I feel most arcades use swipeable cards or something else that's not tokens nowadays, but I still have many fond memories of winning big at arcades! There was also one time I broke the ticket dispenser for one of them (still don't know how I did it) but shhhhhh

Materials:
Games and their components can be made out of so many things! Find something (game-related, if possible) made from each of the following.

#22 - Wood - 10 points
TnITEOs.jpg
Good old-fashioned Scrabble tray and tiles! I'm pretty sure ours are made of balsa wood and not plastic. (I think that's the name of that really lightweight wood I've used once or twice for crafts)

#23 - Plastic - 10 points
0I71PrA.jpg
Took a picture of the entire board for Trouble since it's probably 100% plastic. A nostalgic game that's one of the very first ones I've ever played! I'm not sure if board games state the year they came out or the year that specific box was made, but our Trouble board says 2002 on it if that amounts to anything.

#24 - Metal - 10 points
SbcyvA9.jpg
We have a really weird version of classic Monopoly with bizarre player tokens. For example, this is the T-rex token! Other weird ones include a rubber duck and a penguin in this same box.

#25 - Paper/Cardboard - 10 points
1pNQWaA.jpg
And we're back to Quelf!

The rule cards normally only applied to the person who drew them, and were always hilarious, like wearing your pants inside out for the rest of the game or shouting "I need my *****!" (it was something like that) every time you took a drink. Action cards could be akin to charades, or you having to act out something weird and being judged by fellow players as to how well you pulled it off. While it was embarrassing for me, that sort of feeling was always relieved by the fact friends and family were also suspect to the same types of things.

Textures:

Have you ever had a fidget toy? Different textures can appeal in different ways. Find something for each of the following.

#26 - Soft/Fuzzy/Furry - 10 points
cWaxGKI.jpg
A little sheep plushie of mine! It's really soft and I love to hold it when stressed.

#27 - Smooth - 10 points
vDnuaL9.jpg
Ammonite fossil! One of quite a few fossils I own, this one I found in a store while visiting some new shops with my friends.

#28 - Squishy - 10 points
YOwEZJ5.jpg
This is Sable! She's a little critter I picked up at GenCon ages ago, and while she may not look squishy, she does have it I promise. I don't really squeeze her much, but I do enjoy wrapping her around stuff!

#29 - Bumpy - 10 points
VAJ9L3r.jpg
I don't feel bad at all about bragging about owning a metal pomegranate. It's easily one of the strangest things I own, and is a gift my boyfriend got me when he came back from a trip to Greece! It's got some weight to it, and I love moving my fingers along the little bumps and divots.

Colors (or Colours!):

What would a game be without color? You need different colors for each player, colorful boards, different color "resources" or bits. What can you find to represent each?

Dinosaur time! I went through my collection of small plastic dinosaurs to see if I could find one for each of these colors! If one doesn't apply, let me know and I'll see if I can switch it out for one that matches a little better.

Yes, I know not all of these are dinosaurs, but they are all at least prehistoric animals.

#45 - Best ever - 20 points
(no photo needed) Describe one of you most favorite games and why you like it.

#46 - Playing outdoors - 30 points
Okay, I wish I could get a picture of this, but the weather has been poor and it's dampened the moods of everyone so I can't unless you want a picture taken from the garage.

#50 - Make a game! - 50 points
The name of the game is Gold and Glory, and the goal is to save a kingdom from the imminent threat of a dragon that's awakened from its slumber.

Here's a basic idea of the types of cards the game would have:
P44KHVX.jpg

And here's some figurines to serve as representations of the dragons you would try to stop:
hWiSlUc.jpg

I do have some more detailed rules down, such as what each tile is or does, as well as basic mechanics for each dragon. If you'd like, I can copy-paste what I've come up with so far! I may be seriously considering making this a full game but I'm not that good at art and have no access to anything digital.
