39.
40. This is a species of moth. Also the name of one of my dragons.
Cragside Mussels
Seafood
Tender, juicy, and with no pearls to choke on, these mussels are best served on the rocks.
20
2
Hainu Collar
Trinkets
Though many have tried, it is impossible to train a hainu.
30
Rose Quartz
Minerals & Ores
A rose quartz by any other name would smell as sweet- ...why are you smelling quartz?
70
Yorkshire Terrier
Apparel
No dragon is quite sure where "Yorkshire" is, or why this dog terrorized it.
0
Shadowbinder's Tears
Minerals & Ores
Named for their supposed resemblance to the darkened sludge that is said to drip from the shadow god's eyes, these structures are surprisingly robust; if chipped off, they can be used as chisels or nails.
90
Inky Octopus
Seafood
The ink sacs in this species make up 20% of its body weight. While the ink is not poisonous, it has a foul taste and is not usually eaten.
50
6
Raptor Effigy
Trinkets
A dilapidated effigy fashioned to resemble the Tatterwing Vulture. It is of Corven design.
47
Iron Gear
Trinkets
A trinket capable of replacing a faulty part, or accessorising a bustle.
82
Dustrunner Meerkat
Meat
This quirky species of meerkat has developed an unlikely cohabitation with the tusked boars of the region.
29
3
Irradiated Pear
Plant
Eating this will either give one extraordinary powers or intestinal distress. Or extraordinary distress and intestinal powers.
62
7
Azure Lure
Trinkets
A hook and a feather make for an essential fishing tool or this year's new fashion trend.
27
SPACE
Rotting Plaguebringer Effigy
Trinkets
A crudely-fashioned stuffed doll that resembles the Plaguebringer. The dragon leather it's held together with is molding and smells awful.
1000
Haunted Stone Orb
Trinkets
When touched, wisps of smoke begin to swim beneath the surface of this dark stone, becoming more tangible the longer you hold it. (KS-sponsored by Nick B.)
75
Incorporeal Dinner
Meat
The only thing filling your stomach is guilt.
39
4
Platinum Ore
Minerals & Ores
For when gold just isn't good enough, or for when you sell a lot of albums.
1000
Heatherbed Lily
Apparel
A delicate lily. Thousands of these flowers blanket the Star Wood Strand, leaning towards the Arcanist's observatory.
800
Eerie Cloth Trappings
Dragonmade
The patterning is beautiful and haunting.
41
Umberhorn Qiriq Horn
Organics
Qiriq horns are considered a symbol of good luck. Well, maybe not for qiriq.
25
Shadowbinder Onyx Idol
Trinkets
A razor-sharp onyx idol fashioned to resemble the Shadowbinder. The chiseled surface appears to completely absorb and obscure light.
105
41. This is a mammal that is often found in wooded areas. They have a hunting season and some people keep a part of them as a trophy. When young, they have spots.

40.
Winterbelle
Plant
The Winterbelle produces a hardy flower that can withstand being completely frozen. When it is thawed it produces a pleasant scent that attracts drowsy insects and dragons with a sweet tooth.
38
4
Isopod
Seafood
When threatened they curl into a defensive ball, their tough outer carapace protecting their vulnerable underbelly.
55
7
Leucistic Crow
Meat
An uncommon sight, made even rarer after you finish your dinner.
55
6
Deepsea Cucumber
Seafood
The main difference between a sea cucumber and a regular cucumber is that one is a sea cucumber and one is a regular cucumber.
53
5
Ferret
Meat
It's a fine treat to ferret out this lunch.
62
7
Lucky Star
Plant
The extremely rare eight leaf Lucky Star is said to bestow good luck for life. Unfortunately, this isn't one.
15
2
Opal Cobra
Meat
Cobra Attack! (KS Sponsored by Opal.)
55
7
Winterbelle
Plant
The Winterbelle produces a hardy flower that can withstand being completely frozen. When it is thawed it produces a pleasant scent that attracts drowsy insects and dragons with a sweet tooth.
38
4
Emetic Russula
Plant
Just a fancy way of saying 'eat this and you might throw up.'
25
3
Reedhopper
Meat
Though this frog blends well with its environment, it is inevitably given away by its loud, incessant croaking.

Username: Bxy26
Challenge: Will update as I go along! Completed numbers will be scratched out.
[s] #1 - Introduce yourself! - 5 points[/s]
I'm Bxy26, from Water Flight. I just joined in mid-November, but I'm having a blast so far! Probably my favorite thing about the game is the creative opportunities: writing lore, starting lore challenges, and I'm even thinking about opening a lore shop soon!
[s]#2 - Create your nametag - 5 points[/s]

I've done calligraphy and sketching for years, but only recently started pen-and-ink drawings. Not having the freedom to erase is a real challenge!
[s]#3 - Bring a friend! - 5 points[/s]
@mindrop This might be fun!
[s]#4 - Bring a game to the table. - 10 points[/s]

We only recently moved to a place where roses can grow, and the house had some established bushes! It's been lovely having flowers for the table all the time.

I don't know that she's the best, and certainly my actual Nature reps will make an appearance somewhere during this event, but Skava here is one of my adventurer dragons. If anyone would participate in a scavenger hunt, it would be her!

[s]#45 - Best ever - 20 points[/s]
One of my absolute favorite tabletop games is Carcassonne. It's about the same level of difficulty as the more popular Settlers of Catan, but it is faster to play (around 45 minutes with the max 5 players) and does not have as much luck involved, making a more purely strategic game. It's also possible for kids as young as 7 to grasp the gist of gameplay. It only takes about 20 minutes to explain the rules to a newbie as opposed to the generally 45 minutes for Catan. 2-5 players can play, but there are extensions, expansions, and spin-offs available to add to the complexity and fun!
[s]#46 - Playing outdoors - 30 points[/s]
Once when I was a kid, there were several of us neighbourhood kids who wanted to scooter, but there weren't enough scooters to go around. So I went inside and grabbed my bouncy ball collection. Everyone with a scooter got a bouncy ball; then everyone, including the scooter-less, lined up along the edge of the driveway. The bouncy balls were thrown as hard as they could, and as they bounced all over the street, everyone took off after them. Whoever ended up with a ball got to ride a scooter for the next round. We ended up playing this game a lot, although I never named it. It's a great way to ensure everyone has a turn, since the scooterers, while they may have a speed advantage, have a little disadvantage when it comes to stopping and picking up the ball.

I love door games, and I love lore-writing CYOA games, so this thread is the one I follow! Like most door games, the host sets up 3-5 choices, and the first people to comment with their choices win prizes based on their choice. One of the prizes has to be a dragon; the player who receives the dragon gets to play the host for the next round. The difference between this thread and some others is that all participants, host and players, have to write at least a paragraph's worth of lore. Usually the host sets up some type of adventure scenario, and the players post 1-2 of their own dragons and roleplay their response to the scenario. Then the host unfolds the story of what happened to them based on their choice, incorporating the prizes into the story. Some are more elaborate than others, but it's always lots of fun. There are about 20 regulars on the thread.

I recently downloaded the Cooking Craze app on my iPhone. I used to play a lot of cooking "dash" type games when I was younger, so I was expecting a rather nostalgic feel.
It was fun at first. But it very soon became absolutely impossible to win without purchasing boosts--with real money. I'm not against putting a little money into a game that I enjoy, but the moment I feel like I'm being FORCED into purchasing, I'm deleting. There are over 1,000 levels in the game. I made it to level 73. I couldn't even complete the first city (110 levels) without making a purchase. I don't recommend unless you're willing to pay.

I was going to design a role-playing game using scenarios and situations from Watership Down. It started getting very interesting and involved, so I'm moving it to a Google Doc here. Will continue to edit!
((I have taught high school literature in the past, and one of the projects I usually have my students do is to create their own game based off a book that we studied. Watership Down was always a great choice, since there are so many types of games that could be based around it.))
Challenge: Will update as I go along! Completed numbers will be scratched out.
#1 - Introduce yourself! - 5 points
I'm Bxy26, from Water Flight. I just joined in mid-November, but I'm having a blast so far! Probably my favorite thing about the game is the creative opportunities: writing lore, starting lore challenges, and I'm even thinking about opening a lore shop soon!
#2 - Create your nametag - 5 points
I've done calligraphy and sketching for years, but only recently started pen-and-ink drawings. Not having the freedom to erase is a real challenge!
#3 - Bring a friend! - 5 points
@mindrop This might be fun!
#4 - Bring a game to the table. - 10 points
Great game for groups! There are a lot of people in my family (8), so we love this game.
#5 - Leaf - 10 points
We only recently moved to a place where roses can grow, and the house had some established bushes! It's been lovely having flowers for the table all the time.
#6 - Branch or tree - 10 points
A baby sweet gum tree we have growing in our yard.
#7 - Flower - 10 points See #5 - Leaf
#8 - Rock - 10 points
A chunk of labradorite, my favorite rock.
#9 - Dirt/Soil - 10 points
#10 - A cloud - 10 points
It was raining when I took this picture, so the whole sky is cloud.
#11 - An animal - 10 points
If you zoom in on just the anole, it's a really good picture...
#12 - Who will be representing your lair? - 5 points
I don't know that she's the best, and certainly my actual Nature reps will make an appearance somewhere during this event, but Skava here is one of my adventurer dragons. If anyone would participate in a scavenger hunt, it would be her!
#13 - A card - 10 points
My dragonback cards, that I love so much.
#14 - Dice - 10 points
Dice from Dicecapades game. There are 105 dice in the game, and you use ALL of them. But not all at once.
#15 - A puzzle piece - 10 points
Shoot. This game is helping me with my photography skills. I think this is the only one where I got the shadow of the phone in it so blatantly.
#16 - A game player marker - 10 points
From Trivial Pursuit, with the pie pieces in the Correct Order: Green opposite its Complement, Red Pink; with Blue and Yellow (which together make Green) on either side of Green; Blue opposite its Complement, Orange; and Yellow opposite its Complement, Purple um...Brown. (I don't know that there is an Official way to put them in, but I always do it this way. I can be OCD sometimes.)
#17 - A timer - 10 points
From 5 Second Rule. There are several tiny ball bearings that spiral down in five seconds.
#18 - Something that rolls - 10 points
From Pig Mania! And yes, the adorable piggies are rolled like dice.
#19 - Snacks - 10 points
Chips and Salsa!
#20 - Beverage - 10 points
I'm always hydrated. :)
#21 - Game currency - 10 points
You can never have too many roads. (Or spaceships.)
Wood meeple from Carcassonne: Hunters and Gatherers; Plastic marker from Mastermind; Metal revolver from Clue, Cardboard board piece (ore resource) from Settlers of Catan.
#26 - Soft/Fuzzy/Furry - 10 points
Soft, fuzzy, furry mohair yarn.
#27 - Smooth - 10 points
Smooth varnished matreshka doll from Hungary.
#28 - Squishy - 10 points
My dad collects stress "balls" from scientific conferences. This one is Einstein.
Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Purple dice from Sagrada; Orange marker from Mastermind; Pink pig from Pig Mania; Black meeple from Carcassonne: Hunters and Gatherers; White knight from Settlers of Catan: Traders and Barbarians expansion.
#39 - A completed puzzle - 40 points
One of a set of four that belonged to my mom when she was a kid. I loved them as a kid, too!

Eialyne's Submissions Post Anything marked in Red is a completed entry
(Also I hope it's alright I nicked' the main post's coding ">> Easier for me to track if I have it all in one place
Convention check-in:
#1 - Introduce yourself! - Going ahead and answering this one now while I set this post up for future entries! I'm Eialyne, and while I haven't been with Flight rising from the start, I'm definitely racking up the years at this point. I'm a resident of Wind Flight and while I am so curious to see what other forums are like, I don't see myself traveling any time soon (which yes I know is kinda contradictory to being in Wind but hey...) I'm very fond of the user run side of the monthly festivals (I've participated in this particular event a few times now to varieng stages of completion), and host my own event every March for Mistral Jamboree.
#2 - Create your nametag I have finally learned that a smol name tag makes it much easier to get items in view! (I also have a whole pad of these post-its in case I loose the original ">>)
#3 - Bring a friend! - @jolie I know your account is dead (and therefore don't know if this will count for points) but your are still one of my IRL gaming buddies!
#4 - Bring a game to the table. - Dixit is hands down one of my favorite games, and absolutely the top favorite out of the genre that CAH/Apples to Apples is (I'm sure it has a proper name, I just don't know what)/color]
Registration payment.
You didn't think you would get in for free did you? Of course, this being a Nature event, the payment required is a bit unusual. Find each of the following items to show your Nature spirit!
#5 - Leaf - Meet my jade bonsai, Merle (why yes I'd just finished up listening to TAZ Balance shortly before I got him, why do you ask? ">>)
#10 - A cloud - I seem to be missing all the good poofy clouds lately
#11 - An animal - I honestly was concerned I would have a hard time with this one, but lucky break I had to meet my aunt to drop off groceries and she brought a friend!
#12 - Who will be representing your lair? - Everglade isn't a Nature dragon by birth, but as the resident botanist she's definitely fits the bill (she's not super huge into games though which has led to some confusion on why she's here at all...she swore she was signing up for a convention regarding the care and upkeep of non-native fruit trees)
Gather your game pieces!
Games use all sorts of pieces and bits.
Find the following.
Managed to get a number of these all in one shot. Details below!
#13 - A card - I have SO MANY card games and yet the closest one at hand was a generic licensed one for a series I like that I've never actually played ">>
#14 - Dice - I'm such a horrible geek. I don't have any fun fancy dice...just a basic 6 sided one. And not even multiples!
#15 - A puzzle piece - Probably not from the puzzle I'll do for the later entry.
#16 - A game player marker - Donated from one of my all time favorite games, Mysterium
#18 - Something that rolls - So, there is the die in this shot as well, but for some reason I over analyzed if they really "roll" so I threw a ball of yarn in there as well ^^;; Not game related but if you've ever dropped one while working on a project those things really do roll all over the place!
#19 - Snacks - I work for a food broker. What this means is at any given time I have SO MANY SNACKS and could probably feed the entire convention if I wanted to.
#20 - Beverage - My quarantine beverage of choice (Other flavors available as well!)
#21 - Game currency - I have absolutely no physical games that rely on currency apparently. But...well I mean Flight Rising is a game, isn't it?
Materials
Games and their components can be made out of so many things! Find something (game-related, if possible) made from each of the following.
#24 - Metal - It's not an official game piece but a good number of games do rely on batteries! In my case I'm still yet to get rechargeable batteries for my Xbox controlers.
#25 - Paper/Cardboard - Game sheet pad from Codenames: Harry Potter. Both paper and cardboard!
Textures
Have you ever had a fidget toy? Different textures can appeal in different ways. Find something for each of the following.
#26 - Soft/Fuzzy/Furry - Love Letter comes in a lovely fuzzy bag.
#29 - Bumpy - I tried to stick with the game theme for this section, but I just couldn't find anything to work for bumpy. So instead have rather bumpy packaging from one of my quarantine projects (hanging things up on my walls)
Colors (or Colours!)
What would a game be without color? You need different colors for each player, colorful boards, different color "resources" or bits. What can you find to represent each?
#39 - A completed puzzle - Jigsaw, 3-D, puzzle box...
If you truly don't have any sort of puzzle available in real-life, complete an online puzzle, but make it a good one! Take a picture of your card next to your device.
#40 - Scrabble! - Dirt!
Discus
Seafood
Many dragons are enchanted by the beautiful colors of discus.
100
9
Ivy
Plant
Ivy grows fast, so fast it can cover a den in mere weeks. Whether that's a blessing or a curse depends on your tastes.
75
5
Ragesquid
Seafood
If one manages to ever catch these speedy creatures, they're in for quite the treat. Purple is the real new food trend.
41
4
Thistle
Plant
You're seriously thinking of eating that? It's thistle!

#41 - Game: Articulate! (aka Taboo) - Some find them cute, some find them disgusting. ONe of the slimy varieties of bug. Carries a round home on it's back and some thing a specefic variety are delicacies. Answer (highlight to see):Snail
#42 - Game: Encore! - "Bog Down in the Valley" has a LOT of nature words! And they repeat. A lot.
O-ro the rattlin' bog, the bog down in the valley-o
O-ro the rattlin' bog, the bog down in the valley-o
And in that bog there was a tree, a rare tree, a rattlin' tree
With the tree in the bog
And the bog down in the valley-o.
Now on that tree there was a limb, a rare limb, a rattlin' limb
With the limb on the tree and the tree in the bog

With the branch on the limb and the limb on the tree and the tree in the bog
And the bog down in the valley-o.
(Repeat, adding a line each time)
Now on that branch there was a twig, a rare twig, a rattlin' twig.....
Now on that twig there was a nest, a rare nest, a rattlin' nest.....
Now in that nest there was an egg , a rare egg, a rattlin' egg.....
Now in that egg there was a bird, a rare bird, a rattlin' bird.....
Now on that bird there was a feather, a rare feather, a rattlin' feather .....
Now on that feather there was a flea, a rare flea, a rattlin' flea .....

#40 Scrabble, 50 points
Earwig
Insect
This insect has earned a bad name; Contrary to popular myth, they are no more or less likely than any other bug to crawl into a dragon's ear.
61
6
Noxious Caterpillar
Insect
The taste of these caterpillars is bitter and sour. Despite this, dragon parents insist that eating them is good for young hatchlings.
30
3
Tendrilback Caterpillar
Insect
The mild poison in the meat of this caterpillar is particularly spicy. Hatchlings avoid this food, leaving it for the grown-ups.
350
12
Orchid Beetle
Insect
Found in the Starwood Strand, this nocturnal beetle gets its vivid coloration from the plants it eats. (Special thanks to Serpenthyne!)
65
8
Mistral Beetle
Insect
The hooks on its legs are adapted to holding on during windstorms.
42
4
Origami Steward
Familiar
It's becoming more popular for families of fae dragons to affix these papercraft masterpieces to the branches of the trees they make their lairs on. The sight of them swaying and flapping in the breeze can be a warm and welcoming sight to travelers returning home.
500
Lady Bug
Insect
Gardener dragons love having these little ladies in their garden. Better not tell anyone that you snatched this one up!
50
5
Orange Wooly Antennae
Apparel
A pair of sensitive orange antennae. Wearing them may or may not increase a dragon's sense of smell.
250
Giant Darner
Insect
Like, really huge. Seriously, rethink your decision to eat this.
100
9
Yellowtail Caterpillar
Insect
Piles of these are commonly eaten with pepper sauce, cucumber, rice, and wrapped in seaweed.

#50 - Make a game! - 50 points
My game is called "The Amazing Maths Race" and is aimed at kids 5-17? (fom when you first start school to when you leave school). It's designed to help them learn maths. All you need to make it is either a printer or pencil, paper, a ruler, and patience.
The board is a wiggly racetrack shape and is divided into separate sections. On each section, there is a maths problem written in pencil (so you can easily change it to best suit each child's capabilities). Also needed is a die and player tokens/markers, but those can be anything.
How to play: it's similar to most roll-and-move games in that you roll the die and move ahead the corresponding number of squares. However, upon landing on a square you must then try to solve the problem on that square. If you get it right, stay there. If you get it wrong, go back to your previous square. Problems increase in difficulty as you progress and the final square (the winning one) is the hardest.

Hello! I’m Solstices (previously kitkatthedragon101, MintyDragon, and Toxical) and I’m in Plague (previously Wind, Shadow, and Lightning). As you can tell, I’ve had a bit of trouble settling on a username and flight XD
My favourite thing to do? Breeding dragons. I love seeing all the different colour and gene combinations and experimenting with new genes.

Acorn

Acorns are perfect for storing during long winter months, if you can get them before the squirrels...

Ivy grows fast, so fast it can cover a den in mere weeks. Whether that's a blessing or a curse depends on your tastes.
Hello! I am from water flight and have played Flight Rising for a little over a year now! I only started to actively play around Trickmurk last year, and I love participating in the activities that each flight hosts for it's holiday. The thing I like most about Flight Rising is probably the dominance. It's different from other games because it has the system of flights as well as forums. It still amazes me how something as developed as Flight Rising's dominance system (flight banks, events, exalt pushes) have been created almost entirely by the players! It's so weird to see a virtual pet collecting game become something so much more than just that, mostly because of it's lovely community.
[x] #46- Playing outdoors
This isn't exactly a game, but a few years ago, everyone in my neighborhood would come together to play tag games like infection in the woods at night. It would get really dark and the woods had a creek going through it and high banks, which made it really fun to jump across and run away from the tagger. It was kinda treacherous in there though. The only things that you needed were a bunch of people and the woods, and most people already knew how to play infection tag and stuff. I can't remember what other tag variants we did, but I remember having a lot of fun! The dark makes it so much more interesting because even if you knew your way around pretty well in the day time, you could barely see anything at all at night.
To play, the first person describes usually 3, but sometimes more, doors or options that you can choose between. Once each door or option has been claimed by a single user, the original person reveals what was behind the door and sends each user what they found. You usually get prizes like themed materials, trinkets, or food, familiars, and apparel. However, one door or option hid a dragon behind it. The lucky user who acquires the dragon gets to host the next round!

One game I really enjoy is Sheriff of Nottingham. It is a bit repetitive, but if you play it with a group of people you like, it can be super entertaining! There is also a clear goal to the game that you can work towards every round.
The target group of people that would enjoy this game is probably ages 12+. With my game, up to 6 people can play, but there can be more if you make your own assets for the game (like contraband pouches). It takes a while, probably around an hour or more, but you can adjust the time by adding or subtracting rounds. It would be better if it came prepared for like 10 people instead of 6 so you could easily play with more friends.
