Hi, friends! I've been introduced to this very neat challenge through @Sinjin and @LadyLarkin, both of whom have their own challenge threads!
I've never participated in a challenge, but I thought it might be fun. I'm also curious to see what the results might be, and if I'd get bored before I completed it.
The goal of this specific challenge is to take two XXX dragons, each from the exact opposite side of the color wheel, and breed them until they produce another XXX dragon! Sinjin has figured the odds of that happening to be somewhere in the ballpark of 1 in 15665.
For convenience's sake, I'll go ahead and relay the rules here.
Here are my first two dragons!
One is a XXX Gold dragon, which I picked because I sort of have some yellow dragons, but not a whole lot. I didn't realize (because I literally never stop and think) when I bought her that her companion would be—
— a XXX Shadow dragon named Bennu. I have a ton of dark dragons, but it's fine.
Since I've decided to go for the challenge mode, attempting the whole thing from the other side of the wheel, I've found a second pair.
Since XXX Metals dragons are easier to come by than XXX Midnight dragons (and I was too impatient to wait for my own pair to have a nest), I went one over from Gold instead of Shadow.
Now I additionally have:
or, a XXX Metals dragon I've decided to call Nomos. He pairs nicely with the XXX Shadow dragon below that I've named Soorak.
Much like Sinjin again, I'll absolutely be taking wagers for which dragon hatches a XXX first.
Entry into the pool is 5g/kt. Please send it as a one-way CR. Both treasure and gems are fine! You'll be put on your respective pair's pinglist, and when that pair hatches a nest, you'll get notified.
The first XXX that hatches from this challenge will be given away to a random entry on that pairing's pinglist (like, you know, I'll use an RNG). I'll probably even go in for some art of them!
The pairing pinglist members also get first dibs on adopting if they want. All double-color hatchlings will come with their own piece of lore!

HOW TO PLAY
- First, choose a fully-gened XXX dragon. Basic is not allowed. The primary and secondary genes cannot introduce a bunch of other colors (such as Lionfish/Noxtide, Poison/Toxin, Pinstripe/Trail, etc.) and the tertiary genes cannot be hidden or minimal (such as Spines, Firefly, Stained, etc.)
- Using this tool (or any other you like that shows you color ranges), find the color on the opposite side of the wheel from your starting dragon's color that splits the wheel in half. Basically, the chosen color should be such that one color to either the right or the left changes the resulting color range to one half of the wheel or the other, warm or cold.
- Once you've found the color that splits/flips the color wheel, purchase a XXX dragon of the opposite color. It must abide by the same rules as your first dragon.
- Breed your two dragons until you get another XXX dragon.
- Sinjin specifies that XXY, XYX, and XYY dragons should find homes, while XYZ dragons should be exalted. For my challenge, I'll only adopt out dragons in colors/combos I appreciate, while the rest get exalted (unless someone just really wants them). I have an aesthetic standard to maintain here, okay?
