I've always wanted to do a nuzlocke and now that we have the Hibernal Den I'm finally doing it. I've frozen and exalted all my permas. The only dragons I have left are all breeding pairs from long term breeding projects and will be yeeted as soon as I get what I want from them. Nuzlocke name and such are WIPs because I'm not very good at titles or names. Flavor text will be added slowly because I haven't written it yet. I slightly tweaked a couple but they should still have the same long-term effect on my nuzlocke. [list][*][s]Dragons that faint in the Coli get exalted.[/s] --> See the below list of rules for what I'm doing instead. [*]Food can only be converted from food looted in the Coliseum. Food from gathering must be traded or sold. [*]Hatchlings get a coin flip at birth. Heads, they survive the hatching. Tails, they get named [i]Hushed[/i] and exalted. [*]I can purchase a dragon for every [b]two (2)[/b] dragons I level up to 25. Dragons will be purchased through a thread for lore reasons. [*]I can buy [b]one (1)[/b] egg every month. I get to hatch every egg I loot or scavenge. [*]For every egg I find or loot, I can purchase a breed change scroll. [I may have to make exceptions for Banescale scrolls as my two starting dragons are Banescales.] [*]At level 25, I can scatter scroll the dragon. [*]At levels 10, 15, and 20 I can give a dragon a new gene if I so desire.[/list] [b]The "Death" (exalting) System[/b] I want to use more of the site into my nuzlocke, so I'm implementing a three-strike system. [i][b]Three strikes and a dragon gets exalted.[/b][/i] I know the traditional rule is insta-death when a dragon faints in the Coliseum but I wanted to try a different approach. [list][*]I am exempting my two starting dragons from exalting. Should they receive three strikes or be Disgraced they will be frozen until such time that I decide my nuzlocke is complete. [*]If all my dragons faint in battle, I will flip a coin for each dragon. Heads, they survive unscathed. Tails, they receive a strike. [*]Dragons that reach level 25 are exempt from coli strikes but are still affected by everything else. [*]If I loot an [b]Ambush[/b] stone from [i]Pinkerton[/i], every adult dragon level 16 or under gets [b]one (1)[/b] strike. Hatchlings (six days old or younger) get a coin flip. Heads, they get [b]one (1)[/b] strike but they survive. Tails, they get exalted. [*]If I loot an [b]Ambush[/b] or a [b]Berserker[/b] in the [i]Coliseum[/i], I flip a coin for each dragon in the party. Heads, they survive. Tails, they get a strike. [*]If I loot a [b]Berserker[/b] stone from [i]Pinkerton[/i], I flip a coin for each nesting pair ([i]"it's the nesting sickness"[/i]). The first pair that gets [b]tails[/b] gets the random event. A coin is flipped [b]twice[/b]. Heads-heads, everyone survives but each parent get a strike. Heads-tails, mother gets a strike and father gets exalted. Tails-heads, mother gets exalted and father gets a strike. Tails-tails, both parents get exalted. Hatchlings follow regular coin flip rules. [*]If all the hatchlings in a nest die, a coin gets flipped. Tails, the parents each receive a strike for bearing a weak nest. [*]Dragons that lay [b]one (1) egg nests[/b] get [b]one (1)[/b] strike each. If the hatchling survives, everything proceeds as normal. If the hatchling dies, the parents are [b]Disgraced[/b].[/list] [b]Disgracement[/b] [LIST][*]If a nesting pair lays a one egg nest and the hatchling doesn't survive, the parents are [b]Disgraced[/b]. If the parent(s) were bought from the AH or through the forums, they are sent away in Disgrace to be exalted or adopted by another clan. If there's a parent(s) left over, they are forbidden to pair together again and must find another mate or a new home. If an offending parent lays another one egg nest with their new mate, they are Disgraced and sold or exalted. [*]When a level 25 dragon reaches three strikes they are Disgraced. They must be rehomed for their bloodline is weak and the clan only has room for the strong. [*](More Disgracement rules may be added later as they pop up through lore.)[/LIST] [b]Removing Strikes[/b] [list][*]If I loot an [b]Egg[/b], an [b]Eliminate[/b], or a [b]boss familiar[/b], I can remove [b]one (1)[/b] strike from each dragon on the Coliseum team. [*]If a nesting pair with a gem-treasure gene match hatches a hatchling with a gem gene I can remove [b]one (1) [/b]strike from each parent. [*]If all the hatchlings in a nest survive, I can remove [b]one (1) [/b]strike from each parent. [*]If I loot a [b]Scholar[/b] from [i]Pinkerton[/i], I can remove one (1) strike from a dragon of my choosing ([i]"It was so nice of that traveling scholar to heal that old wound of yours."[/i]) [*]When a dragon reaches level 25 I will remove their strikes.[/list] [b]Naming[/b] [list][*]Every dragon's name must contain at least three syllables if they are hatched from my lair. Purchased dragons must come to me named. [*]The first two syllables of a hatchling's name are the last syllables of their parents' names; the third syllable onward are unique to them. [*]First gens and purchased dragons receive unique names, but they cannot be "human" names (e.g. Gary, Jessica) or two+ word mashups (e.g. Sweetberry, Fiercetooth). Non-name words are on thin heckin ice (e.g. Pen, Candle, Chicken).[/list]

Day 1
---"It's our first day fending for ourselves in the wilds. It's been a struggle for the two of us to carve out a territory for ourselves. It's been difficult for Vahndantor especially - he doesn't seem to be handling the isolation well. This morning I found a pile of mysterious chests buried in the ashes of a burnt forest with eggs inside them. I can hear chicks tapping at the inside of their shells. Their heartsong is strong. I think I will gift them to my love. He will be glad to have something to care for I think."
